bjk Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 I actually wanted a draw today because of the Lambert situation but good to get a win again.Hope the Jap plays next week.
Window Cleaner Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 (edited) I actually wanted a draw today because of the Lambert situation but good to get a win again.Hope the Jap plays next week. Lambert isn't the be all and end all of Southampton FC. I really really doubt that we'll see Tadanari Lee in a Saint's shirt until about the end of January,a cameo role at Leicester perhaps but there was talk of him having things to do in Japan before he starts playing for us.Couldn't say what though, ask Shurlock,he's the Tadanari San expert. derry Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Isn't anyone but me pleased the goalkeeper had a good game?
S-Clarke Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Isn't anyone but me pleased the goalkeeper had a good game? Delighted for him.
beatlesaint Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Lambert isn't the be all and end all of Southampton FC. Maybe not but we are a hell of a lot better with him in the team.
latter day saint Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 nice confidence booster & good to see the nippers doing well. not fussed who we get next round as long as its at home & cheap tickets oh, thanks to Avenue Saint on the match thread, for showing me the way ! may say a word to the big man before the Forest game !
sfc4prem Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Pleased with that turn around. Need to buy a winger and CB IMO, maybe a striker too. Chuffed for Aaron and James, and also for Mr. Bialkowski who had a great game by the sounds of it. Always love the FA Cup draw, only part of it that still holds some magic for me.
shirleysfc Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Can we have Fulham away in the next round please. Thanks.
Avenue Saint Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Would like a mid table prem team at home to see where we're at! Someone like..... Everton at home please!
Legod Third Coming Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 The best thing about this game, other than winning it, is that Adkins will have learned a great deal about some of our lesser stars and their performances should put pressure on one or two of the first team who could do with better competition.
Viking Warrior Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 HI Derry Yes see my earlier post in the Match Thread, Glad to see him regaining his confidence
Avenue Saint Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 nice confidence booster & good to see the nippers doing well. not fussed who we get next round as long as its at home & cheap tickets oh, thanks to Avenue Saint on the match thread, for showing me the way ! may say a word to the big man before the Forest game ! Saint Charlie Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Will the Cardiff game on on Mon 30th be moved for the fourth round game which will be played sat/sun 28th or 29th?
Window Cleaner Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Richardson and Butterfield both out injured, explains Dan at RB.
Viking Warrior Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Richardson Injured and somebody else I missed on the interview
Gingeletiss Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Stayed of the match thread in the second half, I was fed up to the hind teeth, of all the wrist slitters, they spoil it every week. A good result, but tbh, I'd wouldn't of worried whatever the result was, the league is paramount now.
Chez Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Isn't anyone but me pleased the goalkeeper had a good game?Brilliant news.
Window Cleaner Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Richardson Injured and somebody else I missed on the interview Butterfield...for a while now apparently.
Saint Charlie Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Some activity (moving out) might happen with Lee Holmes and Jonno Forte.
Window Cleaner Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Some(transfer) activity might happen for Holmes and Forte. Commons.........forget it.
Viking Warrior Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Adkins > Coomons nothing likely to materilise . Lee was at game today
Saint Charlie Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Want to bring in a couple of players, maybe a few more.
Chez Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 "small signing, loan signing, major signing all possibilities"
Saint Charlie Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Endeavour to give ourselves a great opportunity to win division, doing things behind the scenes to make that happen, to improve the squad. Might be a small signing, a loan signing, or every chance a major signing.
Viking Warrior Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Atkins do everthing we can to get us promoted. So lets hope the deals happen sooner rather than later
derry Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Adkins is saying we are going to give ourselves the best chance possibly a couple maybe more plus work permit possible loan, maybe a major signing, not Commons or Delfounso.
Chez Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 also reiterated they were working their socks off (he suggested till the early hours -hence tired eyes) to bring quality in the get us promoted. Not a doubt in his mind that the club were trying to anything else but get promoted this season.
CWD Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 'Every possibility of a major signing'. Oh Nigel you tease.
Ian the Red Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Great win for Saints, just what was needed for the squad, confidence boost and delighted to see so many youngesters given a chance. Is that the first time we have won without Ricky playing??????
Lighthouse Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Great win for Saints, just what was needed for the squad, confidence boost and delighted to see so many youngesters given a chance. Is that the first time we have won without Ricky playing?????? I think the last game we won without Rickie, against opposition in the same division, was Palace at home in April 2009. 1-0 win DMG scored. I could be wrong, but I think that is the case.

ludgershallsaint Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Will the Cardiff game on on Mon 30th be moved for the fourth round game which will be played sat/sun 28th or 29th? As far as I'm aware it is Tuesday 31st. Mind you if we end up playing our 4th round game on the Sunday it would be moved to 1 Feb.
Viking Warrior Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Spud Martin and WP well spoken on the radio Just Now
hypochondriac Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 'Every possibility of a major signing'. Oh Nigel you tease. Really don't think we should get our hopes up too much. Will just set us up for a disappointment if nothing happens.

thorpie the sinner Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Really don't think we should get our hopes up too much. Will just set us up for a disappointment if nothing happens. I have listened to your comments and decided to get my HOPES up lol!!!!!!!! No point having the window if we didnt believe!!!!!
Lighthouse Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Nope, Ricky signed for us in August 2009....... I know that was before Rickie signed, that's kind of my point. I don't think we've beaten anyone who wasn't a lower league cup game without Rickie starting, since he signed. First game of last season 1-0 defeat by Plompey Penultimate game of the previous season, 2-1 defeat at Gillingham Knocked out of the League Cup by Palace a couple of months ago, 2-0. Sure there are a couple more.
hasper57saint Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Anyone else notice that Billy Sharp wasn't even on the bench today for Donny? Was he at the Richo?
S-Clarke Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Anyone else notice that Billy Sharp wasn't even on the bench today for Donny? Was he at the Richo? I'd imagine he's in Leicester counting his bank balance.
derry Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 I'd imagine he's in Leicester counting his bank balance. Fee agreed.
thorpie the sinner Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 I'd imagine he's in Leicester counting his bank balance. Even if its not us, i see other clubs in for Sharp, and its then his choice! dont see him at leicester
View From The Top Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Fee agreed. As I understand it, it's totally up to the player where he ends up as Donny have no choice but to accept any bid that ois equal to, or above the release fee in his contract.
LostBoys Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Well done to all those that made the trip. I have preferred to go to Nottingham instead. A draw would have been good to reduce Ricky's ban to one leage game but hey ho a win is a win
SNSUN Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 First time a lucky smoke has worked for me. Honourable mention to Ohio for the idea. Pleased with the win. I feel for the Coventry fans. That could so easily have been us. (and was three years ago.)

Let JWP start the next game, bang in another goal and let Lambert EARN his place back!!
