Saints: Bialkowski; Harding, A. Martin, Hooiveld, Fox; Hammond, Cork, Schneiderlin, Ward-Prowse; Lallana, Doble.

Subs: Davis, Reeves, Holmes, Forte, J. Stephens, Shaw, Hoskins.

Looking forward to seeing how a few of these players do, especially Doble - he looked very handy pre-season.

Solent radio commentary here for those of you without Saints Player in the UK

Salisbury; Salisbury; we're the mighty Lilly Whites and we come from Salisbury, (or whatever the hell they sing up at Old Sarum)

OK that's got that over and done with and out the way. Spitfire Cans at the ready weather reports raring to go speakers pumped through a 6MW Amp so the commentary has SOME volume.

Looks like we might struggle in the final third, the ball wont stick to Lallana and Doble like it does to Guly and Lambert (goes without saying really). If Lallana has a great game we can win, if not we might be doomed to the dreaded draw...

So we've written off Doble before he even gets a kick, we have a very heavyweight midfield, one of the 4 of them will score today. No wafty wingers in there just 4 extremely capable players,in attack and in defense, there will be plenty of cover for them when they see a chance to go forward.

One of the big criticisms of Lallana recently is that he actually holds onto the ball too much, so there's no worries for me there - he'll be able to hold it up and bring others into play.

I haven't written him off at all really have I, just said we might struggle up top compared to the preferred line up. Don't be such a drama queen.

Barely sobered up from a spontaneous after party party at mine last night or should I say this morning with a 6 am finish :?

Work mate leaving do in Club house on the compound, but had to shut up shop at about 12.30. 5 mins later about 50 people in my place!! Great fun was had by all.

Gingerly sipping Spitfire.

On the pitch Bartman makes a good save early doors.

A draw would be a bit of a blessing in disguise, whilst not ideal it would mean Lambert would only miss one league game.

Oh!!! I hadn't thought of that!!! COME ON BOTH TEAMS!!!

Posted

OOppps .... have we touched the ball yet!!

The lack of noise from the crowd led me to think they had missed the chance.

Suddenly the Goal mlusic was SO LOUD that Solent have muted the p!iss poor volume even more!!

a draw would be a bonus given Rickies suspension

Bad form atm. Still plenty of time to turn it around. Sloppy mistake by Morgan as we were pushing up, Cov hit us on the counter.

Get the draw boys, get the draw.

Oh dear, 1st Spitfire went down faster than that Brighton defender last week.

C'mon Saints get your sh1t together you've got my finger twitching over the Sals game stream already

No doubt those who slate Fox for "never overlapping" will now slate him for being too far forward and leaving space behind him...

He doesn't have to be overlapping to leave space behind him, if you ever watch him properly you will see that !
