jawillwill Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Tadanari Lee? If not, who is? And if so, who held the record before (Guly?)? And who held the record before him? And so on...? In theory, if we follow a logical progrssion in this thread we should eventually be able to identify a player who was born in the centre circle at St Mary's.
Colinjb Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 He doesn't count. Why? He played senior football for the club and was a product of the academy?
Scummer Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 I wondered about Robbie Slater, another Australian, but it turns out he was born in Ormskirk, Lancashire.......
Colinjb Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Robbie Slater Good shout! But born in Ormskirk. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robbie_Slater
jawillwill Posted 7 January, 2012 Author Posted 7 January, 2012 Why? He played senior football for the club and was a product of the academy? Because it's my thread, and I make the rules.
HK_Phoey Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Ricky Herbert (New Zealander) played a couple of games for the reserves but never started for the first team I think
dubai_phil Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Touch & go, find out where Ambuqui is then double check the actual hospital where Lee was born. If it had been the two capitals then there is only 335.43 miles in it
dubai_phil Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 (edited) However I think you will find that Campinas beats Tokyo Edit ah no, depends which one, 5209.7 vs 6001.37 so nope Dammit, Ambuqui is 31 miles bearer to Southampton Never mind Ibara is 5673,6 so0 a good 6.5 miles further away so just need the exact part of Tokyo now Edited 7 January, 2012 by dubai_phil
Deano6 Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 For those not fluent in talking b*ll****, Dubai Phil is investigating the distance between Southampton and the birthplaces of Tadanari Lee, Guly, Agustin Delgado and Kleber Chala.
VectisSaint Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 (edited) So assuming Lee signs, will he be the player born furthest away from SMS in the northern hemisphere. That discounts all of our Antipodeans and South Americans. Incidentally wasn't Charles Miller (Sao Paulo) or even the guy nicknamed Torpedo (Argentina) born further away than Guly? Edited 7 January, 2012 by VectisSaint
supersub Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Marcelo Sarmiento - Cordoba, Marcelo tejera- Montevideo , Arias - Rosario??
supersub Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Out of the above 3 - Cordoba is the furthest away - 6842.25 miles apparently
Colinjb Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 Because it's my thread, and I make the rules. Spoil sport.
SNSUN Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 But which Sea? North? Nope, the bit of sea just to the right of New Zealand's south island. (The exact point of the other side of the world from Britannia Road, Southampton) I am not ITK.

Funny story on the nearest: My brother* was conceived (not born LOL!) somewhere near the middle of the pitch on the Dell during the pitch invasion after that last game v Arsenal. We have no idea who the father is. * half-brother I guess but we don't think of him like that, despite his skin colour LOL!
Secret Site Agent Posted 7 January, 2012 Posted 7 January, 2012 How about Drew Surman Born in Cape Town, 9700 miles?
