Fitzhugh Fella Posted 5 January, 2012 Posted 5 January, 2012 To take minds off the transfer window - I will pose a question. What fact links the following 15 players but not for much longer Mike Channon, Matt Le Tissier Bill Rawlings, Terry Paine, George O’Brien, Derek Reeves, Eric Day, Ron Davies, Arthur Dominy, Martin Chivers, Tommy Mulgrew, Steve Moran, Fred Harrison, Danny Wallace and Charlie Wayman. To give you a clue James Beattie left the above group last month
Toomer Posted 5 January, 2012 Posted 5 January, 2012 Bloody hell Duncan you know how to make a bloke feel old, I saw a lot of of them play Derek Reeves scored 4 against Swindon in my first ever game back in 59.
trousers Posted 5 January, 2012 Posted 5 January, 2012 Never seen at Costa Coffee, Southampton Airport?
norwaysaint Posted 5 January, 2012 Posted 5 January, 2012 Failed to score in a calendar year? He certainly didn't go on loan last month.
sarum saint Posted 5 January, 2012 Posted 5 January, 2012 all played for saints and England but never in the 3rd tier ?
ericofarabia Posted 5 January, 2012 Posted 5 January, 2012 Returned to a club they'd previously been at (not including 90 degrees!!)
Wurzel Posted 5 January, 2012 Posted 5 January, 2012 All time top scorers in order. I'm guessing Lambert has just overtaken Beattie
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 5 January, 2012 Author Posted 5 January, 2012 No - the clue lies in something that happened last month (18 Dec to be precise) which dislodged James Beattie from that list. Just off to Waitrose I expect a correct answer by the time I get back
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 5 January, 2012 Author Posted 5 January, 2012 All time top scorers in order. I'm guessing Lambert has just overtaken Beattie You got it in one
Kingsland Red Posted 5 January, 2012 Posted 5 January, 2012 That's the type of shopping trip I enjoy FF, less than one minute.
Gemmel Posted 5 January, 2012 Posted 5 January, 2012 So who knocked Beattie out of the list last month, or was he 16th? I am assumming its's Lambert
norwaysaint Posted 5 January, 2012 Posted 5 January, 2012 If Beattie left the top 15 last month, because Lambert overtook him, how can Lambert not have taken his place in the list. This quiz is fixed.
Gemmel Posted 5 January, 2012 Posted 5 January, 2012 If Beattie left the top 15 last month, because Lambert overtook him, how can Lambert not have taken his place in the list. This quiz is fixed. That's what I was saying.....sort it out Duncan
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 5 January, 2012 Author Posted 5 January, 2012 That's what I was saying.....sort it out Duncan Waitrose was horrible Interestingly only Charlie Wayman would have got to Lambert's total (74) in less games. Charlie had a 72% goal scoring record. The only others to get above 50% were George O'Brien 64%, Martin Chivers 57%, Derek Reeves and Ron Davies 55%, Bill Rawlings and Fred Harrison 53% Of course all Ron's goals were in the top flight
Lets B Avenue Posted 5 January, 2012 Posted 5 January, 2012 Waitrose was horrible What sarnies are you bringing on Saturday?
Horley CTFC Saint Posted 5 January, 2012 Posted 5 January, 2012 Waitrose was horrible Of course all Ron's goals were in the top flight And in a broadly mediocre team
CanadaSaint Posted 5 January, 2012 Posted 5 January, 2012 All the more reason to put Ron on the banner at the top of the page. Is there any reason why he's not there?
Deano6 Posted 5 January, 2012 Posted 5 January, 2012 They've all never played for a team that's ever fielded a Japanese player.
