S-Clarke Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 Isn't he a CB? Good cover for CB for sure. You can say he's been gash for Arsenal, but look at the level he's playing at...compared to the level in the championship. He'll do fine at this level, and is awesome cover really.
shurlock Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 Wouldn't say no at all. Quite a coup if anything. If true...

notnowcato Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 Agree with S-Clarke. Should be more than good enough for this league and may even flourish with us. He's got 20 odd caps for France, would Jose or Jos get that?
Scummer Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 Only our fans would turn their noses up at a French international defender who has won league titles in France, the cup in Spain, and played 50 times in European competition........
Thedelldays Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 him, jose and joe would be a good set of CB for the rest of the season....he clearly has quality..maybe not top 6 prem quality but he would easily be good enough for this league
Window Cleaner Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 Used to think he was quite a decent player actually, he was at Monaco and then again with Valence (or was it Villareal) but at Arsenal he's never really shown anything like the same form, but that happens to a lot of players at Arsenal, don't know quite why. I thought West Ham were supposed to be trying to get him on loan in November.
Verbal Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 Watched him at freezing Craven Cottage last night. He did a lovely impression of Bennett on his debut. Still, he can only get better...

Not a bad player at all though, and I remember when Arsenal signed him from Sevilla thinking that it's quite a good signing for them. Experienced, tall, strong...former international. A bit of a coup if you ask me, esp. when you'd say we're already well stocked at CB.
beavis17 Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 where did this rumour come from? I've just seen it on that rumours website...
InvictaSaint Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 Watched him at freezing Craven Cottage last night. He did a lovely impression of Bennett on his debut. Still, he can only get better... Can't be any worse than Bosingwa for Chelsea; his impression of a left back v Wolves was amongst the worst I have ever seen - and that includes Lee Todd.....
hypochondriac Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 Would be happy with this. Along with jos and fonte that gives us decent cover and then Martin of needed. Please please get some pace in though.
Thedelldays Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 I've just seen it on that rumours website... same site that has us signing... matt gilks matt phillips marvin sordell jacob butterfield tanadari lee ched evans
Smirking_Saint Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 Never had a run in the team at Arsenal, stuttered away from the continent like many CB's before him. Still, at this level and for cover would be a very shrewd signing, I can't help but think this is not going to happen but then again I can sort of believe it too.
hypochondriac Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 Ffs bet it was from football rumours though. Idiots.
Avenue Saint Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 Would be very happy with this. To get 31 yr old arse def as cover is bit of a coup. Cost them £4.5m and has played for national team. Nice.
S-Clarke Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 If this was from football rumours the OP needs to be hung.
Pilchards Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 Ffs bet it was from football rumours though. Idiots. 2nd. Anyone can post ****e on that thing.
Crazy Diamond Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 How utterly ridiculous. Our fans gullible? Never.
tttdcs Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 Arsenal wont loan us any players because they are upset they didnt get Chambo on the cheap.
Foxstone Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 Bloody hope it not a sweetener for us letting Arsenal having dibs at Luke Shaw
SuperSAINT Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 PS. If Arsenal are that keen to loan us players they aren't using...... My thoughts exactly. About time we got something from this 'good relationship' between our clubs.
tttdcs Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 If they really want luke shaw they need to make friends again don't they. We'll have Schillaci, Chamberlain and Chamakh. Didnt they refuse us Henry Lansbury on loan at the start on the season. Wonder if they have calmed down now :-)
corky morris Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 same site that has us signing... matt gilks matt phillips marvin sordell jacob butterfield tanadari lee ched evans Would take Gilks, Phillips, Sordell & Butterfield.............................................................................Might be asking a bit much though!!
Andy_Porter Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 This is the same Arsenal who played a 20 year old right footed holding midfielder at left back last night and also had Djourou suspended last night... Only way I can see this happening is if we cover his wages which free's up money in their wage budget to bring in cover at full back. Would obviously be a very good signing if he could settle.
Window Cleaner Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 Seb comes from Toulon and has spent the vast majority of his career southwards of London. Perhaps we could get Jos to send him photos of Southampton's palm trees on twitter.
