Hmmm interesting. Cork at right back maybe? Otherwise we seem to have two left backs and four centre mids. Funny old bench.

jordansibley: Saints Vs Coventry: Bialkowski. Harding, Martin, Hooiveld, Fox. Hammond, Cork, Schneiderlin, Ward-Prowse. Lallana, Doble #saintsfc

Harding at right back, that's a newwy then.Good to see our 3CMs all starting and JWP as well, I like that format, gives guaranteed supremacy in the middle of the park, perhaps JWP will be the furthest forward this time.So much for Butterfield and Holmes, either they're injured or it's curtains for them at SFC.

Harding had a spell at RB under Pards and I think he even played there at Wembley, and was bloody brilliant. Bear in mind, I'm no fan of DH.

Happy with that team, suprised that Connolly isn't on the bench though

Probably nazz again,no reason for him to be missing otherwise,if you take Richardson as rested the only other players missing are the wounded and suspended.

Hope Ward-Prowse has a better game than Palace - he really wasn't all that there.

Cant see us creating much or keeping possession in the final third with that team. Defensively, we should be OK though. Has draw written all over it.

Cov team:

Coventry City: Dunn, Keogh ©, Cranie, Wood, Christie, Baker, Thomas, Bigirimana, Deegan, McSheffrey, O'Donovan

Subs: Murphy (GK), McPake, Hussey, Jeffers, Ruffels, Clarke

Stronger team than I was expecting from us,odd there's no Connolly as it would have been a perfect chance to gain some sharpness.

Must have another knock, which wouldn't surprise me. Always seems to go like this with him, gets a spell of games, gets an injury....and then for the rest of the season he's just stop start.

I thought it was said that he had a decent game at the time, probably just one of the rosy specced brigade being kind to the lad then.

He was alright, no great shakes but good enough. Reeves was better but then tired but they are both kids...

Also, to those who say Reeves is just a converted left back. Two words. Kevin Phillips. Three if you want to add the 'S'...

I would have been surprised if we had risked him today with no other fit/available experienced strikers for next week. No point risking him when he is only just back to fitness.

Butterfield was linked with transfer away before the season started (can't recall who to), don't think he injured just surplus to requirements and getting off the bus soon.

Doubt if he'll play next week, if he was fit and available for selection he'd be on the 7 man bench, he isn't so it's just as likely that he has strained some minor muscle or ligament or other.Perhaps his performance at Brighton wasn't good enough.

Dilemna time

Obviously it's Saints and will be listening on Saints Player

But home town got their big day out up the M1 today so good luck to the lads who've gone up there from Salisbury, quite a few Saints regulars I know of are having a massive day already

We'll see next week, but I would have been very surprised for him to be risked today.

He was OK -but IMO there heavy tint of rose on others glasses. Kept possession well enough but most of the passing went sideways and backwards and rarely ventured beyond the halfway line.
