Brighton vs Saints - Match Fred

to be fair, he has no options.

The fact we have Forte and Reeves on the bench says it all really. We're struggling, not as much as Brighton for players, but we're pretty depleted.

We need new players before the Forest game for sure.

Been saying the same for a while, in that our bench has looked very, very lightweight. When you're resorting to Holmes, Forte and De Ridder to win games then you're going to struggle.

Feels like the old days....

It does, doesn't it - really we should be used to this shyte.

It's just a shame that we seem intent on blowing all the good work that got us to here in the first place. The thing that (3 nil) ****es me off is that I really don't think that we will get a better chance of promotion next season.

Apparently he's wonderful and 9 bad performances out of every ten is acceptable.

Offered considerably more than every ones favourite bum chum Adam Lallana in the last couple of months though. But we can't say that because Lallana is a Saints fan and academy product.

This is a scandalously bad performance following a number of below-par efforts, and Cortese needs to ask some very serious questions.

If this were anyone else but the affable Nigel Adkins after a wonderful year-long run, we might be asking whether he's lost the dressing room.

It does not pain you at all, you bloody gloat over it. By the way 17th is not mid-table, so you can stick your fecking prediction where the sun don't shine.

Note I said lower mid table. Yes it does hurt. My prediction was based on hard nosed facts, that our squad was not big enough and not strengthened enough. If I had based my prediction on my dreams alone, the I would have predicted top 2.

I can understnad the disappointment of people now, but I am not the manager and I don not run the club.

no matter how anyone (if they try) dares to dress it up.....going to a depleted brighton and getting turned over like this is shocking.....probably up there with brentford at home

Worse than that, this is up with the Swindon away days with Patterson up front.

I feel sorry for all our fans that have been going away this year, it's a pretty thankless task.

****ing **** - worse result of the season!

Need signings, need a kick up the arse, need some width.

Brighton the most cynical nasty bunch of bastards I have ever seen.

Gully misses an open goal first half as does Cork in the second.

Time for Adkins to really step up to the plate..........glad I did not go TBH!!!

3-0. Hardly a shock as with Guly up there who can't hold a ball up and has no first touch we are basically down to 9 men.

You should try listening to the match before shouting your mouth, Guly isn't on the pitch. Shows how desperate you are to criticise him.

Haha, I will take this as an attempt at humour.

Man Utd lost at home to Blackburn a couple of days ago... I suppose you think Fergie should be sacked as well.

If we're still in touch with the top 2 at the end of january we'd have done well IMO.

Not disagreeing that things are not looking good right now, but how could we not be in touch with the Top 2 at the end January. Worst case scenario, extremely unlikely (bit possible) we could be 7 points behind 2nd place. That would still be "in touch" in most people's view. There are only 3 more games this month, and none of us are likely to lose or win all three.

But is he wrong?

Yes - the point that the OP was making was that Davis is not good enough to play in the premiership, not that he never has done. We all know he played in the premiership for one season for a terrible Sunderland side where he had a terrible season and did nothing to prove he was good enough for the top division. MLG was just being pedantic for the sake of it.

I doubt that, the squad is not strong enough or big enough. We have simply run out of steam because we are knackered. But, we have enough points in the bag to finish comfortably in mid to lower mid table as I predicted back in August.

Because Barnard is out, 3 strikers were on the pitch? One pulled up injured, one has been red carded.

Still you don't put Forte on, DC could of played upfront on his own and put on Holmes which would of kept our flanks defended somewhat. Gully should of never started in the first place, he's been carried along for a long time now everyone else see's it but NA. We need to splash the cash and quickly.

What I meant to say is that we'll be lucky to be in the top 2 come the end of January.

It's a very good point and worth remembering. This is a bad, bad period, but the season isn't over and were still at the top. Just as a bad spell could see us drop a few places, a good spell could see us right back in it again.
