alpine_saint Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 That's all well and good, but your previous statement suggests that if we don't win then we won't go up - which is ridiculous. You are being pedantic, and you know it.
dubai_phil Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 jordansibley Jordan Sibley Arrived in Brighton ahead of today's game. To answer a couple q's, yes, Morgan is suspended 2day (5 bookings) & we're in red&white Who said Yellow?
aintforever Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 This is the sort of game that we have to win if we are serious about automatic.
Roger Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 You are being pedantic, and you know it. If we are going to go up our away form has gotta improve. What a great way to show our mental strength to win today after friday knightmare.
CanadaSaint Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 You are being pedantic, and you know it. No he isn't. That's exactly the point. But, given your own habit of wildly overstating things, I'm not surprised that you can't see it.
CanadaSaint Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 If we are going to go up our away form has gotta improve. What a great way to show our mental strength to win today after friday knightmare. That I agree with.
trousers Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 @jordansibley: Saints Vs Brighton. Davis. Richardson, Martin, Hooiveld, Harding. Hammond©, Cork, Lallana, Guly. Connolly, Lambert #saintsfc
johnnyboy Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 Saints Vs Brighton. Davis. Richardson, Martin, Hooiveld, Harding. Hammond©, Cork, Lallana, Guly. Connolly, Lambert
Window Cleaner Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 I think I shall be content with a draw and pretty pleased with a win today.
alpine_saint Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 If we are going to go up our away form has gotta improve. What a great way to show our mental strength to win today after friday knightmare. Yep, compared to the rest of January and February, this is low-hanging fruit.
S-Clarke Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 hmm, interesting team. Surprised SDR isn't starting, but I guess it makes sense to have him as an option. Harding and Deano will be well up for this anyway....nice hostile atmosphere for them to soak up. Glad to see Connolly starting again though, for me...Lamberts eyes light up when he's alongside him.
Thedelldays Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 Saints Vs Brighton. Davis. Richardson, Martin, Hooiveld, Harding. Hammond©, Cork, Lallana, Guly. Connolly, Lambert didnt this team tear leeds a new one..?
S-Clarke Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 didnt this team tear leeds a new one..? and Ipswich iirc (well change Hoovield for Fonte)
alpine_saint Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 Saints Vs Brighton. Davis. Richardson, Martin, Hooiveld, Harding. Hammond©, Cork, Lallana, Guly. Connolly, Lambert Hmm. Harding for Fox was abit of a surprise, but the rest is to be expected. If Lallana is really not contributing this time around, I would sub him for Holmes.
CanadaSaint Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 Does that line up suggest that we're targeting the centre of their defence rather than the flanks? Are we going to have enough width?
S-Clarke Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 Does that line up suggest that we're targeting the centre of their defence rather than the flanks? Are we going to have enough width? Looks like a narrow dimaond to me...might be wrong though, but we've played that a few times. Guly right side of the middle, Cork left side, Lallana in the hole, and Hammond holding. might be wrong though
Roger Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 Yep, compared to the rest of January and February, this is low-hanging fruit. Forest away should be winnable! We are better against teams who come at us, so brum and west ham maybe good.
dubai_phil Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 Brighton badly hit by injuries & suspensions probably having to give kids a debut Getting their excuses in early then Sweet
S-Clarke Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 subs are bart fox forte holmes and reeves de ridder must have a knock then in that case, shame.
S-Clarke Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 Brighton badly hit by injuries & suspensions probably having to give kids a debut Getting their excuses in early then Sweet Well actually their team is alot better than I thought it would be
Window Cleaner Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 Brighton badly hit by injuries & suspensions probably having to give kids a debut seen our bench?? If anything happens to Jos or Aaron CMS will take us apart.
alpine_saint Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 subs are bart fox forte holmes and reeves No SDR ??
S-Clarke Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 Brezovan, Cook, El-Abd, Greer, Taricco; Bridcutt, Forster-Caskey, Sparrow; Buckley, Mackail-Smith, LuaLua.
saints-cris Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 Brighton defence and midfield looks really weak, have to win this one.
dubai_phil Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 One of those days by the looks of it then Saints player keeps cutting out grrrrrrrrr
Crazy Diamond Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 Brighton are playing highlights from last season on the big screens to remind us who won the league. Woop-de-doo, they won the third tier... They're an absolute joke of a club, managed by a clown.
THEVMAN Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 Any ones Saints Player not working? Some away games start at the death.
S-Clarke Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 Brighton are playing highlights from last season on the big screens to remind us who won the league. Woop-de-doo, they won the third tier... They're an absolute joke of a club, managed by a clown. TBF when we played them, we created a special montage of our win down there and played all the highlights.
trousers Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 subs are bart fox forte holmes and reeves Probably our weakest bench of the season (on paper)?
dubai_phil Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 Some away games start at the death. yeah fair point, except I had been listeing to Solent for the past hour or so and it had been fine.
Lighthouse Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 Brighton are playing highlights from last season on the big screens to remind us who won the league. Woop-de-doo, they won the third tier... They're an absolute joke of a club, managed by a clown. I was on the train with a bunch of them when they came over to St Mary's a couple of months back. They all started singing "Championes! Ole Ole Ole" which is a f**king irritating tune at the best of times, but we were top of the League and they were about 8th.
VectisSaint Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 WTF has happened to Butterfield ? Has hardly appeared all season, and rumours of him departing. Would not have added much to the bench IMHO, given that Frazer has been one of the standouts of this season so far, but I guess he could have covered in MF if Cork had to drop back to CB in the event of a probalm with AM or Jos. We really are threadbare at CB, surprised they have not recalled Harlee Dean. Right sided CB is just as critical in the transfer window as a striker.
Dalek2003 Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 So many reasons why we need 3 points and a good solid win today. Hope we manage it.
RobM Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 Looks like a narrow dimaond to me...might be wrong though, but we've played that a few times. Guly right side of the middle, Cork left side, Lallana in the hole, and Hammond holding. might be wrong though That's my take on it too. It's a good lineup, as Lallana and DC always seem to link-up well together. Similar footballing brains.
RobM Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 So many reasons why we need 3 points and a good solid win today. Hope we manage it. You could say that about every single game we play, this is no different.
THEVMAN Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 yeah fair point, except I had been listeing to Solent for the past hour or so and it had been fine.Same as that, Billy Ocean(memories)
Danbert Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 Probably our weakest bench of the season (on paper)? Looks a really weak bench, I think we need to win this one before it gets to substitution time.
Window Cleaner Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 Has hardly appeared all season, and rumours of him departing. We really are threadbare at CB, surprised they have not recalled Harlee Dean. Right sided CB is just as critical in the transfer window as a striker. Dean is on a youth loan until 8th January, perhaps there's no recall on that sort of loan.
Dalek2003 Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 You could say that about every single game we play, this is no different. I think it is different. Our form has been indifferent of late. We need to get back to consistent winning ways.
CanadaSaint Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 That's my take on it too. It's a good lineup, as Lallana and DC always seem to link-up well together. Similar footballing brains. I quite like the look of it, too, but I'm a little concerned that we won't have the width to exploit an injury-hit and inexperienced side. Time will tell.
RobM Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 I quite like the look of it, too, but I'm a little concerned that we won't have the width to exploit an injury-hit and inexperienced side. Time will tell. I think our passing game will take care of that. Their lack of experience as a team might struggle to contain us passing around them... in fact, DC's inclusion would suggest we're going to play a direct passing game rather than exploit the wings, he isn't famed for getting on the end of crosses.
DJ_TOAST Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 Good lambert interview on sky sports news at the moment.
Roger Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 Wonder whether punchon was considered for bench lol
Window Cleaner Posted 2 January, 2012 Posted 2 January, 2012 Wonder whether punchon was considered for bench lol Wouldn't think there's any chance of that whatsoever.Might have been useful though. I personally don't like the look of that bench.
