saint_bert Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 Thank you Saints, the best birthday present ever
Thedelldays Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 i am stunned...litterally stunned.. added to the joy, pompey lose to an last min winner... great day
Colinjb Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 Another game I nearly went to. HAHA. Just delighted with the win, utterly brilliant.
um pahars Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 Excellent all round. Watford losing, Norwich losing, Charlton losing, out of the bottom three. To come back from 2 goals down is a great effort. Well done fellas.
St Chalet Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 Not sure this was the thrashing we were due to dish out, but it doesn't get sweeter than this.
Jonnyboy Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 All you negative turds who were postng, (that is, just about everyone), up until surmans goal should hang your heads in shame great result coyr! :-)
Edmonton Saint Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 Amazing, First time in ages I have been this happy with Saints.
LaptopSaint Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 And the pitch invasion after the winner tops it all off. Just like old times! Turning point? It could be -- that little boost of self-belief that's been missing. And sounds like Alex Pearce had a stormer. Well done lads, and well done to the invaders! COYR
St Marco Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 A game we had to win and Jan is a lucky lucky boy! Fantastic to come back from 2-0 to win it and DMG goal sounded quality. Wish i had gone now! It is games like these which remind us why we support this club.
NickG Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 as we all have said on here a team of experience that keep their heads and come back and with the depth of strikers will always score a hatful! And Skates only 5 points above relegation -with manager who has not had a win, players who want out and their money running out!
Gordon Mockles Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 Must have been some half time team talk!! Saw Stern, Fuller and Rasiak scoring today. Still, great come back and hopefully something to build on. COYS
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 (edited) Well done lads... Now carry on the good work next week. When was the last time we came for 2 down to win away from home? Now lads don`t let this become another false dawn Edited 1 November, 2008 by ALWAYS_SFC
Leicestersaint Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 well done saints. Now everyone - go and read all the comments on the first and second half threads! What a lot of negative hysteria!
1976_Child Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 (edited) We are the champions! We are the champions! We are the champions! Come back from 2-0 down! F@ck me! This could, just might, possibly be the turning point of our season! Oh when the Saints! Oh when the Saints! Oh when the Saints go marching in! I wanna be in that number! When the Saints go marching in! Well done you Reds! Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Edited 1 November, 2008 by 1976_Child
Perennial Underachiever Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 Fantastic. 2-0 down, looking dead and buried, then this turnaround. Stunning.
Saint Martini Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 Scoring from a corner and DMG doing a Ronaldo. Whatever next? Brilliant performce the second half after a poor start. We never let PNE get into the match after Pearce scored. Pearce was a rock, won header after header and scores as well. Surman was brilliant the second half in his central midfield position. A special mention to Gobern as well, took players on every time and found people with his crosses. Also, for once, JP made the right decision at the right time. Kudos to him.
SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 Didn't see that coming at half time! 3points for a change!
Fan The Flames Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 Thats put a big grin on my face. Shame there are still fans on here having a pop at others. The manager probably shouted at the team at half time as well, should he hang his head in shame. Well done lads a brilliant comeback
BotleySaint Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 Please let this be the turning point in our season. If we can sort out the defence...
bigdavewatson Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 fair play to the boys and the fans that went. Apparently all shirts were thrown into the fans area - whoever got them deserve them. Very proud today and glad I have kept the faith in OUR playing staff.
sfcuk fan Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 I ............ I ............................ ........................................... .............................................. am .............................................. ............................................................. just f*kin speechless ??????????????????????????????? .
Um Bongo Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 About time. Although i don't think ANYONE saw us coming back from 2-0 to win. I'll take it though.
gjphilsaint Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 well done saints...!! stunned but pleasantly so.... lets hope we can build on this
Guest Hacienda Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 I can't remember the last time I shout and jumped around the front room like that! Come on you Saints!
stevegrant Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 Not sure this was the thrashing we were due to dish out, but it doesn't get sweeter than this. Well it was a second-half thrashing... Cracking result.
StuRomseySaint Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 Saints last minute winner from 2-0 down Pompey lose in the last minute. Life doesn't get much better. Only sour point is that I missed out on the mentalness of a pitch invasion. Ah well, we can't have everything! By the way, we will still get relegated, but for tonight, I am a happy man!
errol_slymm Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 must admit.... i stopped listening at half time...:smt010 wtf happened!
saints-cris Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 Unbelievable ! Absoloutely extatic. Lietrally can't remember the last time we've done that. Should do no end of good to the lads. Brilliant.
saintjay77 Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 well done saints. Now everyone - go and read all the comments on the first and second half threads! What a lot of negative hysteria! TBF the 1st half didnt give anyone anything to get excited about and after previous performances its not surprising that we all thought we were dead and burried. Defence still needs work but if we can defend by attacking and take our chances then our defence wont have as much work to do. Well done lads for a great come back and 3 points very much needed.
Saints foreva Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. mcjwills Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 The first win at Deepdale since 1949 in 10 visits !!!
MulletMan Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 must admit.... i stopped listening at half time...:smt010 wtf happened! Me too. Stopped listening for the first time ever but gave it another chance at 1-2. Couldn´t believe it when we scored the winner!
madruss Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 For the first time this season I had completely given up on the team at half-time. I would've put a large amount of money on defeat at that point.... Credit must be given to the players for having the belief and the fight to keep their heads up and play til the end. I've lost count of the times have we lost from 2-0 down, but very rarely have we gone on to win from that position (Fulham at home under WGS in 2002 maybe?) To do it away from home is all the more impressive - Just brilliant really
saintjay77 Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 down side to this result is we will have to put up with some rantings from Scooby and Sundance. lol
alkasteve Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 Not too much complaint with that (I suppose you could nitpick about their 2 goals but not today...) - a evening I can enjoy and it's got to be at least worth the whole pack of Chocolate Chip Muffins :snakeman:
Window Cleaner Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 Not sure this was the thrashing we were due to dish out, but it doesn't get sweeter than this. Well a second half thrashing anyway.
Tac-tics Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 absoloutly hung over today. full marks on FA assesment. Pompey loose to last minute winner. Saints with last minute winner. Girl I liked for ages says she likes me. Work bonus yesterday! what a day yay! ha
70's Mike Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 Saints win Pompey Lose The natural order is restored for at least a week
graymalkin33 Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 I can't remember the last time I shout and jumped around the front room like that! Come on you Saints! I'm at work and it didnt stop me from doing the same
Big_Bald_Si Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 Well, excuse my language, but what a f*cking great result! We need a song for McGoldrick, loving the pitch invasion!
Islander Posted 1 November, 2008 Posted 1 November, 2008 Brilliant - didn't think for a minute we'd come back into it after being 2-0 down. Great result. Just hope we can build on it. Oh and such a shame about skates losing too!!
