Lambert checked out by Hannover 96

As first spotted by Saint Lambden of this forum, there was a rumour on a German fans website that Rickie had been linked with Hannover 96.

I was asked by a website that focuses on English players plying their trade abroad to do a writeup. The bloke who runs the site has had it confirmed that Hannover have indeed had him 'observed'.

Well well.

Here's my article on it anyway http://lesrosbifs.net/2011/12/rumour-rickie-lambert-southampton-to-the-bundesliga/

I've also had it confirmed that Jack Cork has attracted many clubs - after signing for Saints.

Any idea's which clubs have had a look?

Still think for this reason alone, that it's pretty important we try and get up this year or we face a really unsettling summer with most of our lads linked elsewhere.

A German freelancer told me "Lots of scouts (even from abroad) have taken a look on Jack Cork". So by the sounds of it, mainly UK based but European sides too.

Doesnt suprise me about Cork.

While his performances sometimes go un-noticed by some of our fans , he for me in by far our best CM, a class act - no suprise that other clubs are taking note.

He's quality. Lacks a bit of strength at times and can be out muscled, but he does try and get stuck in whatever - and has some fantastic ability on the deck, some of the skill he used to get out of a tight spot last night at one stage was sublime.

Considering his size I think he's pretty strong on the ball. He creates space for himself with ease, has a great engine and barely ever misplaces a pass.

He may not spray 30 yard passes like MS (prob why he isnt given the credit he deserves) but for me he is twice the player. First midfielder on the teamsheet for me.

Agreed. Fantastic player and looks like we got an absolute steal.

I agree he's quality. By far our beat midfielder and alon with Lambert should be first name on the team sheet.

I still can't believe we (apprently) got Cork for £750k. If he were to go you'd be looking for 4 or 5 times that much. Quality player and still very young.

Plenty of clubs were interested at that price. Plenty were put off by the wages he commanded. If we're paying him anything like that he was rumoured to earn at Chelsea I can see why.

If we sold Lambert I think the fans would be right to question the short term ambitions of the club.

Well yes. And if they rotated the pitch by 90 degrees to help us defend corners and renamed the northam the jason puncheon stand, golly they would have some questions to answer.

I never know if you are serious but your posts are funny.

So, you must think that if we sold Lambert then the fans just accept the decision in blind good faith. I despair.

There are some folks on here that Health & Safety dictats were invented for, it's surprising that we don't have to take our belts off and remove our shoelaces before going into SMS

Regarding the whole finishing 17th or 18th thing, I forget which, who did you have down as finishing below us?

For the record, in the highly unlikely event that we were to sell Lambert, yes, you'd question what was going on.

I suppose we could survive Lambert going but we would have to find a really good replacement and can't think who. Still think we will finish lower mid table, 18th is way to low btw.

And the six teams that you had down as finishing below us? To say 18th exactly is putting some thought into it, so I imagine you had it all worked out.

Maybe it's beacause most of them don't actually go to SMS but make their judgements based on forums & radio & newspaper coverage
