This is entering into the realms of a Golden Thread.

Anyway to hack into those Average Speed cameras they have on the M3 these days? link that to facial recognition software could try use the FB stuff and that all helps ensure Trousers can drive safely rather than staring into every passing car

Nice idea but my earlobe database doesn't cover Far East citizens yet. Due for rollout in 2013 though, so keep your ears to the ground for that one.

I have just spoken to a French journalist who tells me that Lee held discussions with a 'top' French club, but there is now no doubt that he is going to Southampton.

Other reports suggest personal terms have been agreed.

Can you name them?

Might link back to my Paris syndrome theory. ;)

I remember seeing this in a QI episode. I wonder if it could become a problem...

"Many of the visitors come with a deeply romantic vision of Paris"

Unlikely with Southampton. :D

If you have been travelling the whole day then the last thing you want is a guy examining you with rubber gloves on.

I expect a night in a London hotel room with a sushi take away.

Ugh and that whole eating food in a low pressure airplane cabin and then the whole pressure increases as you descend farty thingy yuk

Looks like we are getting Beckham as well then, both stolen from under the noses of PSG

And this accounts for why the Staplewood re-build has been put on hold - they wanted to tie-in the laying of the first foundation stone with the announcment of Beckham joining the club as player and chief academy coach (elect).

Interesting detail about Lee's game there. They stress the fact that he likes to play deep and link with the midfield and that he's a good target man. Not sure if that all seems rather similar to Ricky though to be honest.

If you watch the footage of him those parts of his game are clear. But he also seems to be a goal poacher. As the article says, perhaps with better service he would score more, because he seems to have the technique.

Never mind, they'll make do with a couple of second raters in Pato and Kaka, 60+ million euros on the table, they only wanted Beckham to sell shirts anyway and maybe get free tickets for the Olympics.

Man in France thinks it's as good as done and suspects I did indeed see him 'some months ago', when he was in the middle of a trip round Europe.

Basically a done deal. Nuff said. Btw it's his first time in England let alone Soton.

So, which is it....first or second time in England?

The bit that caught my cynical eye...."he is not the most accomplished of finishers."

Is it OK not to give a toss about this bloke really and wish we were getting on with some real signings??

I don't know, I'm quite excited by him to be honest and the views people in asia have of him. Seems to be a pretty decent international striker with a decent scoring record.

If the fee is correct, 500k, then we're laughing really. £8m for Jay Rod, who has never played in the premiership or above championship, or £500k for this fella who has played international and scored in a high profile international final against Australia.

If it happens It could be a masterstroke. We shall see.

Is anyone getting similar feelings to that of the Jemal deal....? That was done and dusted....until the day he came to sign!

This guy looks pretty certain though I must say, slightly different scenario.

The rumours about him are probably true just because he fits with the the Papa Waigo / Guly criteria of being so random that it's probably happening.

With Rickie's suspension will we have that luxury?

Probably not to be honest, if this guy signs and gets approval I'd be surprised if he's not thrown straight into action. As you said, we don't really have the luxury anymore if we're serious about getting out of this league.

Yes but it's not like we have anyone that will play instead of him....we have no strikers if Guly is injured & Rickie suspended.

You're both assuming he's going to sign that soon and be available that soon. We're not certain of anything yet.

I'd p1ss myself if this is complete carp. Lots of egg on faces.

Yes it had occurred to me, but like anything in life you can only go on what you think and what you're told.

All I know is that I saw what looked to be him a fair while ago, I'm told he was in Europe at around that time, he's in London tonight and in Japan they think it's all tied up. If it doesn't happen, I won't be embarrassed by it, I might question these people who have made these claims.
