madruss Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Have to agree with you Alpine. Some people here are quoting how long it takes to emigrate from the UK to countries such as US, South Africa and so on. Totally irrelevant IMHO, and some of them are so bureaucratic that it is true, it can take a long time to get sorted (though I never had any trouble getting into either personally, it was all arranged in a couple of days or so, admittedly now 10+ years ago in both cases). Getting into the UK is about as simple as it can be. After all most of the country is continually moaning about how simple it is for migrants to enter the country. Well it is even easier if you have all the relevant paper work (work permit) already in hand and on top of that you are a professional sportsman. I have no idea whether this deal has gone wrong or not, but just feel something is not right, there is no need for such a delay. I'm not talking about whether he is available to play tomorrow or not, that's irrelevant, he probably would not be ready anyway. I do hope to see T Lee here very soon, and I think he will be a good addition, but just detect a faint whiff of rat somewhere. Let's say you're right and getting into the UK is really easy. Does anyone actually know how easy the procedure for exiting Japan is? Cos if they don't then all this paranoia and speculation is pretty pointless

Avenue Saint Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Unlike some of my fellow posters on here:rolleyes: Lee has many friends and has numerous farewell parties to attend. lol

Excellent, so perhaps the club are letting him take his time before making his final departure. There's no rush, we've got 20 league games left of the season. If our new striker has to miss one of those games to make his move halfway across the world as comfortable as possible, so be it. If he scores goals as good as this one, he can take another week IMO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuU2lXB09TE&feature=related
mulletsaint Posted 22 January, 2012 Posted 22 January, 2012 Maybe it's all a ruse and he's been in the country a week. ;-)

AK Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 Personally i think it is all a bit strange if he isnt over here yet.If he is here, i wish the club would confirm the signing. Adkins said after The coventry game he had expected to have him involved for Leicester, although the The Forest Match would probably be too soon, or words to that effect. Ive never seen such rubbish about all the hassle of moving, the club take care of everything as far as his relocation in The Uk is concerned and a few loose ends at home is hardly the end of the world on the basis the season ends in just over 3 months and he'll then have all summer to sort out his gas bill.
St.Patrik Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 Think we have a winner here ? Unveiling on the pitch tonight anyone?
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 Unveiling on the pitch tonight anyone? I'd rather keep my clothes on thanks.
a1ex2001 Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 Looks like the blokes done a runner. Does rather doesn't it, I don't seem to remember Delgado and Chala taking this long to arrive from Ecuador in fact I seem to remember a very cold looking Chala warming up at Bolton in the Carling cup within days of signing. More recently the much hearlded Sarmiento managed to arrive from Argentina in double quick time as did the equally effective Marcel Tejera from Uraguay. Was really optomistic about this signing but I've now got the alarm bells ringing and I'm normally reall positive about anything saints related.
fez Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 I think we'll find out tonight, one way or another.

It's about administrative proceedures more than anything else, perhaps his work permit wasn't actually granted on the day mentioned. It could be that they obtained GBE from the FA on that day but the actual permit was granted a bit later. Then there's the question of Hiroshima, are we paying them or is he waiting for his contract to run out ? I noticed that most J League contracts seem to run to 31st January XXXX.
alpine_saint Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 I think we'll find out tonight, one way or another. Noooooo. Please no on-pitch signing. Remember how succesfull the last eternal f**k-about / on-pitch signing was....
Bearsy Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 (edited) Why would he want to "do a runner" ? Big contract offer from West Ham! Apparently they became interested when he qualified for a Work Permit! Edited 23 January, 2012 by Bearsy

Saint_clark Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 Noooooo. Please no on-pitch signing. Remember how succesfull the last eternal f**k-about / on-pitch signing was.... Nobody signed on the pitch. Skacel and Waigo both came out to meet the crowd after signing, that was it. Can't remember us doing it any other time.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 William Hill have Tadanari Lee at 11/2 to score first and 6/4 to score anytime - what do they know that we dont?
Gingeletiss Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 We have some real wrist slitters as fans ffs.
Saint_Ash Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 William Hill have Tadanari Lee at 11/2 to score first and 6/4 to score anytime - what do they know that we dont? Funny! You can place bets for him to score with 12 bookies! Get on 13/2, it's the best price!

Viking Warrior Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 Its the panto season Where is lee. hes behind you I think the great philosopher Jasonis puncehonis quotation is apt for this thread Rumours are carried by haters, spreaded by fools & accepted by idiots".

Not the most accurate odds complied ever.
Window Cleaner Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/championship/southampton-v-leicester/first-goalscorer So you can get odds on players who are actually at the ANC as well. Surely that's contrary to some betting act or other,I mean offering odds on things that cannot possibly happen.
Professor Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 Japan to England, he's bloody lucky. I moved Hampshire to Sussex an I'm still struggling with the culture shock. D'ya know the women play Stoolball over here, an dress like cricketers in short skirts???
Whitey Grandad Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 I'd place a covering bet on him not to score, just to be safe. Why not place one on me not to score, whilst you're at it?
Window Cleaner Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 Why not place one on me not to score, whilst you're at it? You have to love those odds though, according to Corals a bloke who's in Gabon has a better chance of scoring than Frazer.
Patrick Bateman Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it (I can't be bothered to read through 30 pages of drivel, it's ridiculous), but have any of you whingers and doubters not realised it's Chinese AND Korean New Year today and they have all week to celebrate. He's Korean, right? Think about it.
St.Patrik Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 And the celebrate this event like 10 days - year of the dragon I heard.... Window Cleaner Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 That obviously comes before us then. wouldn't be at all surprised if we're waiting for his contract with Hiroshima to run out.
alpine_saint Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 That obviously comes before us then. Exactly. I'm going to try my luck on with my bosses on April 23rd, Nov 5th, and whenever Her Maj does her 60th this year, then....
Patrick Bateman Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 You f*cking stupid, thick, lame, whinging bunch of c*nts. No wonder no one uses this forum, no wonder it's appeal has ended for many people if sarcastic fat c*nts like Alpine exist, posting on here.

I reckon we should withdraw the offer to him and go looking elsewhere tomorrow. We have a week of activity left. He's not what we need most urgently anymore.
Saint Charlie Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 Flying in this week according to NA so that should shut some mouths!
Wade Garrett Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 Flying in this week according to NA so that should shut some mouths! We definitely need him in sooner rather than later. Good news at last.
alpine_saint Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 Flying in this week according to NA so that should shut some mouths! What, like he was flying in last Saturday ? Reckon we're being fobbed off.
Wade Garrett Posted 23 January, 2012 Posted 23 January, 2012 What, like he was flying in last Saturday ? Reckon we're being fobbed off. I'm sure Adkins wouldn't lie about this to us. He says Lee is coming this week, that's good enough for me.
