dubai_phil Posted 20 January, 2012 Share Posted 20 January, 2012 He's 19 years old, FFS !! How many family f**king heirlooms is he going to take !??!! More like clothes and a stack of CDs / DVDs. Besides, booking and packing can be done third party. All he needs to do is sign things. The more you argue this, the more I think the delay is due to a personal requirement for time rather than a logisitcal issue, which of course cannot be delegated. Think you are confusing him with Yago

S-Clarke Posted 20 January, 2012 Share Posted 20 January, 2012 (edited) It's a huge deal for someone to move to the otherside of the world. Once the workpermit is sorted out there is so much red-tape to go through. i've known someone who's done the opposite before and moved to Australia, and it took weeks. I find it amazing that once again, Alpine is trying to form his opinion from thin air.....we've not organised this well enough. Have you yourself ever moved to the otherside of the world, do you know what hurdles you have to go through? In that case you cannot really say that. He will sign and he'll be worth the wait. You have an opinion, just as everyone else does, but I can NEVER recall a time when you have backed it up with any kind of reasoning. Forums needs debate to exist, but how can anyone debate with you if you don't have any substance to your arguments? Personally, this is my last attempt to try and get some reasoning from you. By "reasoning" do mean supporting my argument ? When someone says "why do you think that" ? or "what evidence causes you to think that" ?, you are asking if I try to answer ? Of course I do. I have tried it on this side of posts into response to a couple of dubai_phils posts already ? I already explained that I find the delay strange due to my own relocation experiences, and broken down the activities involved in relocating a little. What on earth do you want from me, Minty ? Minty Posted 20 January, 2012 Share Posted 20 January, 2012 Fair comment Alps, I guess you did try to explain. I think it just gets lost amongst everything else, and to be honest, given the testimony of others' experience, still stands out as being isolated, so we'll have to agree to disagree. As for what I want... that is just what I ask from ALL posters... to back up their opinions with reasoning, and to treat others as they expect to be treated themselves. I readily acknowledge that I live in my own little world where that will never actually happen, but who knows?

And of course the downside of our last January transfer window disaster was that we were left with a squad that went on the best run in the club's history and won automatic promotion. Summer was another disaster leaving us with a squad that finds itself at the top of the division! Personally I hope we do just as badly this time and then again next Summer. If we do we should find ourselves leading the Prem next Christmas.

Lighthouse Posted 20 January, 2012 Share Posted 20 January, 2012 Surely his agent could have handled the logistical side of things. I'm sure there is a lot of work Lee needs to do, a lot of it which he has to do himself. Even trivial stuff like selling his cat, packing all his stuff into boxes, paying off his council tax, settling the gas bill... it will all need to be done and it's not stuff he can just palm off onto his agent. I've moved abroad before and I'm looking to do it again. Whilst I will have/had help from various people it wasn't easy and there were a lot of tedious procedures to go through. I'm not sure why people are getting concerned about this deal. They wouldn't have posted all the stuff on the OS about it being a done deal unless it was a done deal. We've got the work permit. We wouldn't even have bothered applying for one unless Lee had agreed a contract and we'd agreed a fee (if there is one) with Hiroshima. The fact that Nigel hasn't mentioned it in any recent interviews would indicate nothing more than there is nothing interesting to report. What do you want him to say, "Lee has sold his cat, but he still needs to drop his barbeque off at Uncle Keith's house and find someone to feed his goldfish"? Patience, please. david in sweden Posted 20 January, 2012 Share Posted 20 January, 2012 Christ yes. Moving countries with bureaucracy, permissions, organising everything is a 'mare. He'll have lots of support, but even so... absolutely, I recall the vast amount of preparation when I moved to Sweden many years ago...not least the Taxation Dept. in every country like to know where you are ! ... but even nowadays , a short trip to UK can have its down side. However, the easiest thing ...is booking your flights. Took me 2 minutes on line ... Mr.Lee has much more to organise in his life, I'm sure...and hoping a long line of unpaid bills he may have forgotten about - don't follow him to Britain.
