So has he got a work permit or not??

Yes he is cleared to work in the UK as a footballer for Southampton FC, all he has to do is get back over here and sign some forms to be on the bus!

Wow, Nicola must be running out of horse heads. Great work, wonder if he can be registered by the deadline for the Forest game (Friday midday is it?) although if it isn't I might get to see his debut the week after at SMS.

There are always plenty of horse heads. Every time one is put down at a race meet, who do you think collects the carcass?

Did we know the club's initial application for a work permit had failed and this was an appeal ?

I thought we thought this was a straight permit application job.

Well no, but some of did in fact know he didn't meet the prima facie criteria.

Anyway good news but I think our hunt for another striker will be put on a back burner for a while, maybe a younger man with potential just in case.

12 hour flight. Most flights from Japan arrive in London mid-afternoon. So, tomorrow afternoon at the very earliest.

Yeah, was kidding, a good weeks training with the first team and 20 minutes off the bench against Leicester.

"his case has been approved by the football authorities"

it is not the football authorities that give out work permits, HTH

Great work SFC!

Welcome aboard Nigels bus Lee!

I do like the spine of the English lads combined with exciting international players, if we get the blend right it could really compliment out style of play.

Guly, DeRidder, Jos & Fonte, T.Lee - nice

But it is the football authorities who arrange a panel and make the recommendation on approval of work permits to the appropriate body in cases where the standard criteria is not met.

lee has flown back home whilst we await his work permit to be granted. have no fears that it will be given and cant wait to see him play for us.

Really - Whose that staying in one of the clubs pads at Ocean Village then?

gemmel did you find out who was staying at the village then? have the club given him a appartment there or is he gonna live in the hilton hotel till he finds his own place?

But you need their approval to get one,it's primordial.

but that wasn't the question, FFS you get one chance to put Matt Le God right on something you've got to take it

He's right, when he got the "there has never been a postponement due to a waterlogged pitch at St Marys" fact wrong, he didn't post in that thread again.

He can't fly over straight away' date=' he has to finalise the papers in the British Embassy, ie in Japan.[/quote']

I did a bit of work in India last year and it wax possible to get the work visa sorted out in half a day (at the India visa centre in central London), so anything is possible I guess.

I'd like to call for Japanese embassy tomorrow, flight tomorrow night, nige and the bus meet him at heathrow, sign papers there and then, straight onto nottingham!! I mean, if they don't do it that way then they need to employ me asap!!!

Excited by this one!! Happy days!

Woo hoo what a great news day. First the poopey remake of The Titanic and then this!

Clearly the club had sounded out the "Football Authorities Panel" criteria before making too many moves

He's been with us training for over a week

Assuming there are no last-minute hiccups, this is an exciting signing. I have to confess to knowing bugger all about the bloke save what I've seen on here, but this guy has the potential to be a great signing on tons of levels.

I really hope he adapts and does well. Would be very nice to have a settled strike-force if and when we get to the Prem.

How sure are people that we have actually signed the chap and if so, how long before he will playing and furthermore how significant a contribution ?

Well we have signed him on a pre work permit contract

The rest is on the OS and Twitter

Links already posted

We could NOT sign him on an actual contract WITHOUT the work Permit

Work Permit is only validated when he enters the UK with it.

Hence he'll probably sign his official contract tomorrow

Opinion? Won't see him near the bench for at least a week.

Mate, who is that in your avatar? It looks like a very angry William Shatner? Or Richard Hughes?

It is William Shatner shouting at Ricardo Montalban in Star Trek II.

Surely Glenda has filled you in on all the details by now. What's that, Glenda didn't know. Oh my God!!

Will this affect your prediction of 17th place finish? If so do you think we can now look for 16th possibly (lower mid table), or do you think we are more likely to be finish below 17th?

Stop trolling ! I forgive you for your part in blocking the re-appointment of one of our most successful ex managers and you do not need to carry your guilt for our demise into League 1 forever.

BTW I made my bold prediction before we kicked a ball in the new season ? When dod you make your prediction and did you play safe by making a vague punt that you could re-adjust as the season wore on...bet you did !
