Badger Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 I have been advised by very good authority, who i am not going to name, that he was picked up from Heathrow tonight and is staying at the De Vere with his agent. The deal has been agreed and all that is left is to confirm personal terms. An announcement could be as early as tomorrow provided all goes smoothly. not in the Bridle Suite then with his WAG ?
shurlock Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 not in the Bridle Suite then with his WAG ? He was three others, an older guy who I assume was his agent and two older looking women.
teamsaint Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 well we are certainly leading the chase for his signature. we seem to have overcome some hurdles, and can hope that if he does get paraded as a new player, he wont be a handicap.
Weston Saint Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 He was three others, an older guy who I assume was his agent and two older looking women.Did he have some command of the English Language????
trousers Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 Did he have some command of the English Language???? He's been taking an intense oral English language course but all that talking has made him a little hoarse
Badger Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 He was three others, an older guy who I assume was his agent and two older looking women. Oh dear ! First night in Southampton, hope this is not a scandal to break out re smuggling two older women or geishas into the hotel. At least get established in the team before hitting the tabloids and Echo for the wrong reason.
Badger Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 He's been taking an intense oral English language course but all that talking has made him a little hoarse very good ! keeping it on track.

You'd have to be a foal to believe that
Viking Warrior Posted 3 January, 2012 Posted 3 January, 2012 At least his girths not as big as le tiss. I can't wait to see him trot out at SMS
SNSUN Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 These puns are really pony. Here's a pun that'll get you thinking... If we've been planning this signing for a while, then the cheque was probably posted in December. ...anyone spot it? Yes? Then you have too much time on your hands. (Hands!!! There's another for you.)
dubai_phil Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 Feel sorry for him if he signs now. When we get promoted he won't be able to take part in a Derby
St Jim Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 I hope that after his arival the team spirit remains stable!
trousers Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 I've got a feeling this chap will become a colt hero for Saints
dubai_phil Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 Btw, does he play on the flank? restricting him to one position would be a bit blinkered
saint lard Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 solentsport BBC Radio Solent #saintsfc- reports that Japanese striker Tadanari Lee flew in yesterday to sign 2 & 1/2 year deal, and will double wages to £800,000 P/A
dubai_phil Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 solentsport BBC Radio Solent #saintsfc- reports that Japanese striker Tadanari Lee flew in yesterday to sign 2 & 1/2 year deal, and will double wages to £800,000 P/A Ha so Echo obviously read this forum after all They should gee gee up their reporters to do their own leg work
beavis17 Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 I've heard that he's moving into Martin O'Neill's old flat in Winchester. Hope he gets on well with the neighbours..
qwertySFC Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 Next thing the Echo will be revealing the transfer fee - 1.7m agreed by his agent Simic Boban from BBC Football management UG - already discussed in some Korean papers yesterday - & that Boban already has had dealings within England via Robert Koren -
Wade Garrett Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 solentsport BBC Radio Solent #saintsfc- reports that Japanese striker Tadanari Lee flew in yesterday to sign 2 & 1/2 year deal, and will double wages to £800,000 P/A If we can mafford those wages for him, we should be able to pay Sharp the £20k a weeks he wants.
Raging Bull Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 Hope his injury record is good, the last thing we need is for him to go lame.
SaintNeil90 Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 If we can mafford those wages for him, we should be able to pay Sharp the £20k a weeks he wants. Sharp is so overrated!! He will flop at the next club he joins.
wireframebox Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 Sorry if already posted, but this is from Lee's Twitter feed yesterday... https://twitter.com/#!/ChunTadanari/status/154026795933507584/photo/1 He's boarding a flight to London.
Ken Tone Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 If we can mafford those wages for him, we should be able to pay Sharp the £20k a weeks he wants. You mean, on the basis that £20k a week is 'only' £240,000 more per year than £800,000? Can I come and work for you?
trousers Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 @jordansibley: First bit of January transfer news coming up on the Official Site shortly, keep your eyes peeled. #saintsfc
trousers Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 It's usually a contract renewal when Mr Sibley pre-announces something...
saintscottofthenortham Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 There's a party in my pants and everyone's invited!!!!!!
EBS1980 Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 Must be all but done, considering the report now on the OS.

supersonic Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 boring! I was hoping it would be exciting news like Forecast or Dickson leaving
Chez Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 strange that the club are talking before a deal is done. I guess the cat was out the bag long ago and he would be training for a while so would be noticed, meaning they had no choice.

I guess the cat was out the bag long ago and he would be training for a while so would be noticed, meaning they had no choice. And presumably we must have actually signed him, contractually subject only to the work permit, so there is no danger of another club nicking him at the last minute as there is with other transfer leaks. Presumaby also this implies the club are pretty confident of getting the permit.
St_Tel49 Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 Tommy Forecast joins Winchester City Do you mind. I watch them sometimes!
ant Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 Did you mean this link? (Japanese Star In Talks) http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2565417,00.html I think it's fair to say we already knew all of that 'story' mind. [EDIT] Ah, ninja edit from paris there, your link was going to an error page before
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 All we need is a work permit then. strange that the club are talking before a deal is done. I guess the cat was out the bag long ago and he would be training for a while so would be noticed, meaning they had no choice. Sounds like its all done bar the permit, as Colinjb says, otherwise we wouldn't be confirming anything (+ we must be pretty confident on that too to release details on the OS). I'm guessing he'll take the vacant no 19 shirt as he's pictured wearing 19 for Japan on the OS?
ant Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 Plus quarters of the fanbase have been rabid for transfer news, so I'd hazard a guess that releasing the news early is meant to be a sign of intent.
Big_Bald_Si Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 Ok, I know i'm jumping the gun here, but is his scoring record all that? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tadanari_Lee Obviously hesitant to use Wikipedia as a source of information, but what's the standard of the J-League like versus the championship? Don't want to be a doom-monger, but this potential signing doesn't excite me
Ian the Red Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 Good signing... providing we dont get delayed with the work permit!! If it was Manu they would have the permit by now, bet we have to wait a few weeks!!
FMPR Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 Leading light and just 10 caps at 26 years old....
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 Good to see we've started our business early. Hopefully there will be more additions to follow. It'll be interesting to see whether Lee is our sole striking addition or whether we plan to add a more proven name from this division, like Sharp or Jut, too.
eurosaint Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 Plus quarters of the fanbase have been rabid for transfer news, so I'd hazard a guess that releasing the news early is meant to be a sign of intent. There is no doubt that Cortese is trying hard to appease Alpine_Saint !!
benjii Posted 4 January, 2012 Posted 4 January, 2012 Leading light and just 10 caps at 26 years old.... You're not welcome on here you thick, ignorant, despicable ****. **** off.
