um pahars Posted 1 January, 2012 Share Posted 1 January, 2012 ** True it's nothing new, there was even a website called "Players on the pîss" or something like that where we had a few of ours on display. I think social media and an appetite for entertainment, gossip and scandal has meant that it might just be a little bit more headline nowadays, but the idea that it is only a recent phenomenon is somewhat rewriting history. That's not to say I agree with it and considering how much the game has changed (i.e. its become a lot more professional, physically demanding and in turn hugely rewarding) I would much prefer a more considered and responsible approach to alcohol and diet. Steeleye Saint Posted 1 January, 2012 Share Posted 1 January, 2012 For your information Turkey, I was in the pub with Lambert and I believe his lame performance yesterday was down to wind as he downed 7 glasses of coke. Next. If he did then he probably hasn't slept since! Almost as bad as getting p1ssed!
Saint in Paradise Posted 1 January, 2012 Share Posted 1 January, 2012 What I find a tad surprising is that if Mr C has such tight control of everything as some seem to think, how on earth has a drinking problem been allowed to get as bad as some say it is? Noodles34 Posted 1 January, 2012 Share Posted 1 January, 2012 It's nothing new, but I don't think it should be tolerated in this day and age when fans are paying through the roof to pay them premium wages. They are a disgrace when put alongside true sporting professionals such as those representing us in the Olympics who struggle to raise funds. I take it that you stick by your principles and dont go to SMS then? As that would be supporting these overpaid people, would it not? And who gives a **** about the Olympics? Are Saints in it? Nope, then whats the point? You and your mate are a right couple of attention seeking muppetts aint you, and yeah, I guess you got mine. Whats your next thread agenda? Racism and peodophilia in the dressing rooms? A better one might be: Who is the biggest cock on this Forum? Turkish, Dune or Alpine Saint, Mods, can we have a poll? shurlock Posted 1 January, 2012 Share Posted 1 January, 2012 (edited) I'm more concerned by all that pikey Nandos Jos seems to eat. Drinking culture? Only if you include Costa coffee in that definition. Edited 1 January, 2012 by shurlock

Sour Mash Posted 1 January, 2012 Share Posted 1 January, 2012 I'm more concerned by all that pikey Nandos Jos seems to eat. Drinking culture? Only if you include Costa coffee in that definition. They are out on the p**s pretty regularly to be fair, more than I'd have expected modern day players to do. I'm sure there are plenty of people better qualified in Sports Science etc than I am at Saints, so I guess if its alright with them.......
ART Posted 1 January, 2012 Share Posted 1 January, 2012 At most clubs players are hero worshiped and respond on the pitch to pay the supporters back. Sadly nowadays at Saints there is a few twisted minded supported who think making our best players fell like jerks for their habits and behavior in their spare time does them a world of good. Whenever results start going against us, up surfaces all the type of nonsense that makes players cringe and lose confidence. Just why does it happen and do those that post these things honestly think they are rendering the club's promotion bid any good. All the gossip and rumors in the past really put the boot in when we were facing relegation. So can we encourage not discourage our players by keeping all the personal stuff off the message boards and forums. Let's make them belief in themselves and belief their efforts will get us promoted.
