Shalmaneser Posted 30 December, 2011 Share Posted 30 December, 2011 Apols if this question has been asked (as I expect it has) hundreds of times before. Anyway, I can't get iplayer to play me my Radio Solent in London. How do I tune in? I don't own an actual radio, incidentally. Thanks!
Deano6 Posted 30 December, 2011 Share Posted 30 December, 2011 Sign up to Saintsplayer on the website to get all the solent match commentary. I assume that's what you're after.
the wedge Posted 30 December, 2011 Share Posted 30 December, 2011 The short answer is that you can't get Solent in London. Whilst you can get the BBC website to play the digital version of the station, but they won't ever broadcast the matches on there because of contractual reasons. The answer, simply, is to subscribe to SaintsPlayer as Deano6 says.

This, as I thought it was brilliant when I got tunein radio for my iPhone, as it had Solent, only for the day of the Saints game to be told that the program (the game) would/could not be broadcast because of contractual reasons. Anyone know why you can listen to the game in and around the south coast but not up here? Is it solely because of saints player? I have saints player now but do not really listen to games, but will tonight.
saintalan Posted 30 December, 2011 Share Posted 30 December, 2011 Gone are the old days when an early site used to leave a Radio on Solent next to a server each week ;-)) who was that? Mind you nothing to stop you using your free minutes to call a friend/relative in the broadcast area when needed;-)
Bobbyboy Posted 30 December, 2011 Share Posted 30 December, 2011 Back in the good old days you could get the 999 AM frequency ok during the day in south London (did it successfully while living in such delightful areas as Brixton, Streatham and Dulwich) but never managed to get it north of the river. Unfortunately, 999 tends to be Poopey games these days I think (dunno for sure as live in USA now) and anyway it faded at night and you got that Spanish opera singer instead. As others have said, Saints Player is the way to go. It really isn't all that expensive for what you get.
