Being told by another colleague that he has a very reliable source that we have made a rather shocking and bold bid for FC Basle star Xherdan Shaqiri.

 

Just passing on the info and yes I do realise how unlikely this would be, however this rumour comes from another club.

In that case it's VITAL that we sign him. And Brian Stock, Wade Elliott, Sam Vokes, Brian Howard, oh and put a cheeky £4m bid in for Surman. Come to think of it whats Darren Anderton up to these days? HCDAJFU on the right side of midfield.

All it took was one horse's head left on his bed & the Don had convinced Shaqiri to sign. He's also got Messi's family locked up in a secret location so expect him to join soon too.

 

And its all being bank-rolled by Paul Allen.

Lol. He's still in the champions league and wanted by about 50 clubs. If we to up, qualify for Europe and look strong, it'd still be a massive shock to sign him. But now?!

 

BUT BUT BUT.(*stamps feet*) We are only potentially only two seasons away from the champions league. What about Corteses vision? What about the brilliant academy? What about the potential crowds of 50,000? What about the catchment area? What about the shopping in West Quay for his wife to enjoy? What about Highfield and Portswood schools being so great for his kids? What about being able to go for cream teas and strolls in the new Forest on sundays? What about being near the sea and an airport? What about being able to scrap with locals in village pubs if he wants to? It's not just about money and wanting to play for the biggest clubs in the world you know.

If this were to happen it would be absolutely incredible.

 

A bid for him is mildly believable owing to the Swiss connection.

 

However, even if we were in the Prem I'd still give us no chance of getting him. I reckon almost every team bar maybe Man City would take him.

I only know of him because of this goal against England:

 

 

Know nothing about him other than that! We'd have to pay him silly money I imagine to get him to play for Saints, really isn't going to happen!

But... we do have money- Chamberlain, and perhaps this shows ambition beyond our current status... we won't get in the Chamions league with our current squad alone... it's fun to dream... anyone remember Keegan?

completely understand the ********** scent this has thrown up, the only reason I thought I would share this is because of the nature of conversation and whereabouts this rumour came from as he did not know that I supported Saints, he doesn't support Saints and he had mentioned the Danish scout which I found odd:/

You had me believing this was all possible until you went and put that stupid line in the middle! Maybe a few times this season, but next? we will be kicking off at Sky o'clock and not see a 3pm kick off on a Saturday until 23rd February!!

...and now thanks to this, anybody we do sign will be seen as not good enough, and the january transfer window will be deemed a "failure to capitalise".

Jakob Fris-Hansen? He is our European scout. Would have expected him to be looking at more realistic targets.

Imagine if we don't go up. Some moron, not necessarily darlek, probably darlek, will highlight our failure to sign shaquiri or similar.

 

I'm fairly fcked off we didn't sign messi myself.

 

If we dont sign him it will simply show our lack of ambition and inability to compete in the transfer market.

Was this ever actually confirmed? He isnt listed anywhere i can find as being a scout for us.

Ok, assuming this is in any way true. It could be as much about raising profile then any genuine chance of signing the guy. A signal of intent for the future that will hopefully ensure we are taken seriously by other clubs in the footballing community.

 

Of course, it needs that assumption in the first place.
