kwsaint Posted 26 December, 2011 Share Posted 26 December, 2011 Was it me, or was this afternoon's half time relay race the funniest half-time entertainment in ages? One kid dropped the ball before the race had even started, another started running before the ball had reached him and had to stop and wait for a very puffed out kid to give him the ball. Then the last two ran towards the Northam End goal and both sliced their shots wide. Even the motormouth on the pitch was speechless for a change. Not quite up with the day that the copper ran after the 'burglar' on the pitch during the police dog display, or the day that the parachutist missed the Dell and ended up in Shirley High Street, but it gave all those round me in the Chapel a good laugh (loudest we've been in ages). What was even funnier was when the two lads missed their shots they got a tongue in cheek "F*****g useless Duh Duh De Duh" from the Northam

saintscottofthenortham Posted 26 December, 2011 Share Posted 26 December, 2011 Was bloody brilliant! The Northam was louder at the end of it than at any point during the game I think! Haha! Great entertainment!

Just a Fan Posted 27 December, 2011 Share Posted 27 December, 2011 For me the relays are the best entertainment ever at half time. (Thought I'd better put at half time). Long may it continue.

ericofarabia Posted 27 December, 2011 Share Posted 27 December, 2011 I hate half time at football, think they should just turn it straight round and get on with it!! Don't be so ridiculous!! How would the lard arses get through a whole 90 mins without having a pie stuffed in their face. I'm all in favour of half time asmy bladder would never make it - even 45 mins is too long sometimes!! Channon's Sideburns Posted 27 December, 2011 Share Posted 27 December, 2011 I say 'Bring back the Albion Band'. They're probably all dead now though, poor sods. That said, I still want to park in the Unigate Car Park and say Hello to Bob Stock. Yes. I live in the past....haha
John Boy Saint Posted 27 December, 2011 Share Posted 27 December, 2011 This is such a simple formula for half time and something thankfully they have persevered with as it has become increasingly amusing and the whole stadium gets to see it. Yesterday with the little nipper on his toes without the ball and then both missing the goal at the end was the first time most of the stadium got really vocal. A few weeks back the teams seemed a little uneven in size when to came to the end the "bigger" team who were well out in front skewed it wide, well considering most half time entertainment is derided by many the oooh from the crowd was quite loud then the roar of encouragement for the next nipper to steal it at the end, and the cheer when he did, shows it works.
