Ziggy Stardust Posted 24 December, 2011 Share Posted 24 December, 2011 Going posh on Boxing Day. We've done it a couple of times before and it's a really good day. This time we have a guest, a Palace supporter. So the question is - is it OK in the corporate seats for him to celebrate if Palace score? It doesn't say "home supporters only" like on normal tickets and no-one is allowed to wear colours so I'm guessing that a small cheer and a little wave of a fist would be acceptable. Let's hope it doesn't arise. We sat in the home stands at Ashton Gate a few weeks ago and didn't have to worry about it. Sadly!
Micky Posted 24 December, 2011 Share Posted 24 December, 2011 It's not a problem Ziggy - they won't score....!

Brussels Saint Posted 24 December, 2011 Share Posted 24 December, 2011 I've been in corporate once before when we were losing and they then scored again, one of their fans started cheering and generally celebrating. Some guy behind me took exception to this and threatened to punch him in the ear (strange threat I agree!) unless the stewards kicked him out. I've also been there when opposing fans have done it and no problems. Basic advice I guess would be so long as he's fairly respectful there wont be a problem. If he starts overdoing it, there is a good chance someone may threaten to punch him in the hip........
1976_Child Posted 24 December, 2011 Share Posted 24 December, 2011 Well if you pay that sort of dosh then why shouldn't he celebrate if they score? But bearing in mind that those seats are only separated by a metal railing from the cheap seats it would be courteous on his part if his celebration was to be some what muted. As for not wearing colours, does this apply to scarfs too?
simo Posted 24 December, 2011 Share Posted 24 December, 2011 I'm sitting in the corporate boxing day and if he celebrates too much I will put him over my knee ! There is guidelines in the covering letter regarding away fans just says basically don't take the ****
Convict Colony Posted 24 December, 2011 Share Posted 24 December, 2011 I'm doing this as well, never done it before but what time should I am to get there as have a few hours drive beforehand so was gonna aim for 11:00am, any idea's ?
Ziggy Stardust Posted 24 December, 2011 Author Share Posted 24 December, 2011 We're getting there for 11.30ish but go for 11.00am. we want to enjoy as much of the day as possible - the relaxed bar, atmosphere and hospitality plus just the joy of no queuing for the loos (bearing in mind I'm a girlie!) makes being there early worth it. It's a great mixture of feeling "special" ( not as in needs!) but also really part of the club. They do it well. Thanks to everyone who replied. It's me, my husband and our son - plus stepson from my husbands 1st marriage who is the palace supporter. Stepson is a really nice decent bloke. I love the thought of us all watching and supporting our teams together. I hope it will be a special day. But more special for us! Happy Christmas. THINWHITEDUKE Posted 25 December, 2011 Share Posted 25 December, 2011 I've always found that polite applause is acceptable by away supporters in the home section.
Weston Saint Posted 25 December, 2011 Share Posted 25 December, 2011 Ziggy, the question has to be....did you celebrate in the portsmouth home end when Saints scored! Enjoy your day tomorrow. Hope to meet up soon.
sotonjoe Posted 25 December, 2011 Share Posted 25 December, 2011 When you say "going posh" do you mean you've opted for the 'gold package' or just the 'cushion on a seat and cash bar for £45 package'?

In fact I was watching from the comfort and safety of my sofa!
