CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 24 December, 2011 Share Posted 24 December, 2011 When did he last ref a Saints game, and what history does he have with us ? I think it goes back to the 2004/5 season when he gave a opposition player two yellow cards at St Marys, but forgot to actualy send him off. If memory serves on every subsequent visit he's been so awful some have gone so far as to question his integrity. How this man is still in employment as a referee is one of the great unanswered questions of English football.
Crazy Diamond Posted 24 December, 2011 Share Posted 24 December, 2011 D'Urso, Saints and Poyet. That's got to be the unholy trinity when combined. Merry bloody Christmas.

sandwichsaint Posted 24 December, 2011 Share Posted 24 December, 2011 Did an outstanding job in the away play off game at Derby. Also (correctly) called off last year's game at Charlton after being let down by the home team's preparation / groundspeople. I'm sure this isn't what people want to hear but he's probably still one of the better refs at this level - and he'll need to be against DirtyCheatin'Brighton. Tend to agree, I think he has been ok at this level. From memory it is Arsenal, not us, who have history with him. Seem to recall having a similar thread pre the Brighton home game, and he turned out ok (for us)
niceandfriendly Posted 25 December, 2011 Share Posted 25 December, 2011 (edited) I think he reffed the Charlton away game last year? I remember going absolutely mental at him on numerous occasions. May not have been him though which may explain the funny looks I kept getting. Edited 25 December, 2011 by niceandfriendly

Lets B Avenue Posted 25 December, 2011 Share Posted 25 December, 2011 He did the Millwall home game , back in August. Cant remember any controversies. Dont think we can blame him for letting the Millwall fans out at the final whistle.
bender Posted 25 December, 2011 Share Posted 25 December, 2011 bha are mad about this too. Is he one to brandish cards when necessary? If so we'll be fine given their disciplinary record

One of the few bloody games we won that season.

Did not realise D'Urso was the ref though.
Crazy Diamond Posted 26 December, 2011 Share Posted 26 December, 2011 They've had another player banned, Bridcutt will miss a game, don't think it's ours though. Shocking disciplinary record, they ought to be ashamed.

Dont think we can blame him for letting the Millwall fans out at the final whistle. I remember thinking he was poor for an ex-premiership ref.
