saintscottofthenortham Posted 23 December, 2011 Share Posted 23 December, 2011 EastleighSoulBoy (I think) recommended Nashaa in Beastleigh to me, never looked back. Cracking curry and trust me, tried a fair few.

so22saint Posted 24 December, 2011 Share Posted 24 December, 2011 Nashaa is great, my brother in law has tried that new Badhii Murchi (used to be The Leigh pub) and he *raves* about it. Bearing in mind he used to live in East London surrounded by top curry houses it's worth a try I'd say.
Dr Who? Posted 24 December, 2011 Share Posted 24 December, 2011 The one in Bitterne near Domino's and Herbies Pizza used to be good!
benjii Posted 24 December, 2011 Share Posted 24 December, 2011 the take away from the Corriander Lounge. We have never been anywhere else since going there 18 months or so ago. Best Indian restaurant I have been to in this country, I think. Choudhury's Curry Lounge in Shirley also does a good takeaway.
Turkish Posted 24 December, 2011 Share Posted 24 December, 2011 Best Indian restaurant I have been to in this country, I think. Choudhury's Curry Lounge in Shirley also does a good takeaway. I would agree with that, we go there at least once a week and have done since it first opened. Been to a other places for a change or been in other town and they've never got anywhere close. Cracking review in the echo recently, she's got it spot on. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/leisure/food/restaurant_reviews/9301923.Coriander_Lounge__Southampton/
1976_Child Posted 24 December, 2011 Share Posted 24 December, 2011 I like the restaurant on the corner at the end of Oxford Street. Dunno what it is called. Dunno if they do take aways. But the grub is good.
Wes Tender Posted 24 December, 2011 Share Posted 24 December, 2011 I like the restaurant on the corner at the end of Oxford Street. Dunno what it is called. Dunno if they do take aways. But the grub is good. That would be Kutis I would imagine. But for me the best curry within the Southampton area is the Coriander Lounge.

Marsdinho Posted 29 December, 2011 Share Posted 29 December, 2011 I'm getting the impression that it would be easier to list the Indian restaurants in Southampton that are right Sh*t holes.

The one at riverside in Bishopstoke is utter crap Taroka on fair oak road gets a lot of praise, we go there and it is pretty hard to beat. Deffo ganna check out the coriander lounge before I head back up north.

sotonjoe Posted 21 May, 2012 Share Posted 21 May, 2012 As far as bad ones go, it's hard to top that God-awful Indian Melody place in town. Has anybody else been unfortunate enough to set foot in there?
lloydie Posted 21 May, 2012 Share Posted 21 May, 2012 Cant be bothered reading through this but manzils in beavois valley was in the top ten curry houses in the the uk according to the guardian, so its probably ok...
Mattio Posted 21 May, 2012 Share Posted 21 May, 2012 Sanjha was good, lots of food (enough for 3 easily in a meal for 2) and only £15, personally my favorite is Spice Express, but this place was good.
csh398 Posted 21 May, 2012 Share Posted 21 May, 2012 Highly recommend Romna, on Rumbridge Street in Totton. Top notch
SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 21 May, 2012 Share Posted 21 May, 2012 Netley Tandoori is bloody great. I get a chicken biryani its enormous, big chunks of chicken. And a really good veg sauce that comes separate, with quartered potatoes not little cubes. Your definatley be busted after eating one of those. Other currys are great too!!! Cracking review in the echo recently, she's got it spot on. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/leisure/food/restaurant_reviews/9301923.Coriander_Lounge__Southampton/ In true Saintsforever/ Saintsweb style I can't be arsed to look at the link, but I hope it's not their usual vegan reviewer that doe's it! What sort of serious paper has a Vegan as a food/ restaurant critic. Always supplements her reviews by saying "my partner had a steak and said it was the best steak he's ever had - cooked to perfection". A, only numptys order a steak when eating out, B, he's had about 15 of the best steaks he's ever eaten, and C, she's a vegan.... For what it's worth Coriander Lounge the best Indian I've ever eaten in too. Brick Lane over rated (but still amazing value), been to one in Southall that was very good and my local (Purbani, Botley) is excellent, but none touch CL. Special mention to Jewells in Chartwell Green - seriously good! I believe the owner used to work at Kutis but binned it off after rowing with the boss there? Minty Posted 22 May, 2012 Share Posted 22 May, 2012 Kali Mirchi was my favourite in Southampton, but Coriander Lounge is excellent, and Indian Melody is also really good if you want something a bit more traditional.
