Puncheon

Saint Charlie

He would be a welcome addition back to the squad if he can sort his differences out with NA. He has the pace and ability to score goals which are midfield is lacking at the moment.

A genuine handful in his league and IF he comes in and starts scoring goals I will welcome him back on the bus.

jasonpunch Jason Puncheon

As I said when I signed saints will be in the prem within the 3/half yrs of my contract which looks more than likely it's gona be ahead....Of schedule....naturally people gona look an say he only wants to come bk cos where top an some want him bk cos there's a shortage....On the right hand side...when all goes wrong who gets the flak then...just like there trying to get on gulys back an were top of the league

He must have read my posts r.e Guly.

I don't want him back. He's acted like a spoilt kid and wants to come back now we are doing well. We don't need his sort. F/ck him.

I suppose a small minority could be 1, really don't think any "fans" would have really said this. If anyone did say this then really they are not SFC fans, sound more like the mongs at Blackburn. The real reason to not have Hoddle back was because he had proven himself to be crap unless he was partnered by John Gorman. Hoddle + Gorman = good partnership, Hoddle - Gorman = below average manager

There are other reasons why as well known to the troll Dalek they have been posted here many times. He is just fishing again.

I cant believe he is a teacher.

His attitude is about as good as his English. If SFC were struggling he wouldn't be interested in the slightest in helping his team out of a scrap at the bottom. As soon as the possibility of a prem contract looks feasible he seems interested. Despite being good, and I do quite like his style of play, does anyone else just feel this is the kind of typical wannabe prem star attitude that could upset a steady ship in the 2nd half of the season? In short he comes across as a muppet in my opinion.

Does a leopard change his spots ?

We could do with a player of his skill right now, but only NA knows whether he is right for the team.

Whilst it always a good rule in life to have forgiveness, he has had at least two or three chances and blown them, are we not kidding ourselves that another chance would be a good idea?

Secondly is he really good enough? I have seen him on several occasions and to be honest he fletters to deceive. Not only that but he has smashed several of those large video screens and we can't afford any more....

What has he done wrong? Loads slating him but the radio interviews and twitter stuff has always been positive for him.

He is a player who tries something others don't - a decisive pass, beating his man or shooting from distance. Didn't work for him at the beginning of the season and got some needless sitck.

If he has upset NA or other players I would be wary.

I have no problem with the fact that he wants to play now we are top - if Sharp now signed for us many on here would be overjoyed - he didn't in the summer but would we moan that he, or Rodrigues or Sharp are only joining us cos we are top? No.

If confident and on form probably a better option, to break teams down, than Guly or Chaplow.

Sums it up for me.....

It looks like he is coming back so maybe he will be given another chance in the squad..

This stuff about "he only wants to come back cos were top" is a complete red herring. What will NA and NC be using as a selling point to anyone they try to sign in January ??

The real question is can he convince the club as to whether hes going to knuckle down and work on the collective team goal of getting promoted and discard this "I am too good for this club" attitude.....

There was a deal that was close in the summer, we were also trying to include Matt Phillips in any deal. That didn't happen and Phillips ended up going on loan to L1.

Wouldn't surprise me if we tried the same again.

I'd take that. Phillips has got the better long-term potential.

Do I care about Jason Puncheon? No he is at QPR. Are the club prepared to wipe the slate clean and put him back in the first team squad? I haven't a clue. If they decide that he can start anew then I will be delighted, as he is another player that can do a job for us in the right circumstances. We want automatic promotion preferably winning the championship and as much strengthening as possible to give us the best chance and the addition of Puncheon would give us an extra versatile attacking player along with the targets already identified. We'd be bloody mad to be anti if Adkins takes him back. As far as I'm concerned if they want him back so do I.

I find it hard to believe why anyone would potentially want to cause disruption within our cohesive squad. Why even risk spoiling the team spirit that has served us so well. Puncheon is only one substitution or resting away from throwing the toys out of the pram again so not for me thanks.

Puncheon seemed to enjoy his time at Blackpool so how about a cheeky offer of a trade for Matt Philips plus a few quid their way to sweeten the deal?

I disagree, but supposing you are right was Sturrock or Wigley any better ?

Good post. It will be interesting to see what happens in the transfer market. I think Cortese is either trying to get us up on the cheap, or he is sticking rigidly to a sustainable transfer and wage policy and would rather us build gradually even if it means missing promotion this year.

On that latter point if we do not strengthen I am sure we will drop down the league very rapidly and finish lower mid table.

and look at Hoddle's

who buggered off ....and wouldnt be brought back for reasons you well know not the fans...... Sturrocks win ration was 38% compared to Wigleys 1 win in 13 so how can you compare the two....you cant !!

So Hoddle ratio at Spurs...39% Wolves 35%........ chelsea 33% so much better than Sturrock......hhahahahah

Nothing to lose, get him back, play him and if it doesnt work out, sell him in the summer

We're going to need all the good players we can get in the next 6 months, he's way better than Forte/Holmes and Adkins still doesn't trust SDR to start in a pure wide midfield role

People make mistakes, learn and move on. People on here should too

I really have no idea what has gone on here, but of Nigel and the players are happy for him to come back then it is ok with me. If he is going to damage the team spirit and upset the apple cart, then NO!

agreed, so far we only have the Echo's version of things and i would not trust them

Agreed !

The problem was clearly not football related so if Nigel and Nicola (though it could be that the alleged disrespect to Markus is terminal!) are willing to reintroduce him then that's fine by me and I would hope that he is welcomed back and certainly not booed as that would be counterproductive !!

With approximately £90m of unearned income if we get promoted this year there is no way he will want to miss out on that. Next year is irrelevant and this year is a real bonus, already the manager has said we are looking to bring in one or two players, I think he might well bring in more than that.
