The "where will Puncheon end up next?" sweepstake.

As per thread title - we know Puncheon is only on loan. "Saints permanently" is allowable, but returning to Saints when his QPR loan is up before getting shunted off elsewhere doesn't count.

You may also take this opportunity to post stupid names of obscure clubs in an attempt to look clever. I'll be using this OP to keep track, and the winner will get precisely nowt (bit more cash-strapped than the Saints Forever days when I'd occasionally stretch to a Snickers bar).

I'll start, I think we're sending him on loan to Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak. Don't text in, it's just for fun.

Well, now seems as good a time as any to revisit this thread. We have 5 correct predictions, with Fan the Flames the first to say "stay at Saints", though he's only fully right if Reading win the playoffs and he signs for them in the summer. Shirleysfc, as the first to say "St Mary's", is first runner-up.

I think this thread is a pretty good indicator of how unlikely this return has been - and it also gives the first known instance of Alpine being right about something positive happening to Saints. ;)

Millwall, Forest and Blackpool have all registered their interest. QPR may extend his loan until the end of the season, but it depends on whether they secure one or two of their preferred transfer targets.

Save it, "Grampus Eight" is all we need here.

You can't have that many guesses, plus Millwall has already been taken! ;)

I'd like to say us as I think he has something to offer....................but I reckon he'll go somewhere in London but not in our league so

Charlton

Pity we haven't been able to manage him, would definitely have been a decent option to have off the bench or filling in nicely for Chaplow. A midfield of Lallana, two of Cork/Hammond/Schneiderlin and Puncheon would be decent.

Hmmm.

If I were NA, and seeing as he's a RM and we are continually playing three CMs and ending up with an unbalanced midfield, I would be thinking about calling him into my office when he returns, and if his mind appears right, giving him another chance..........

Unlikely I know. And having been one of the more outspoken on the issue of Puncheon, I can believe I saying it either. I must be really worried about our season being de-railled...

I'd now keep him until the end of the season, a versatile player that we are missing with Chaplow injured. We would have been better with him than without him. That is subject to him being able to fit in to the team togetherness otherwise sell him.
