Kris Boyd?

Contract terminated due to him not being paid. 6 goals in 10 appearances at Forest on loan last year isn't too bad. I wouldn't dismiss him out of hand, the only question I would have is on his attitude. We don't want to be employing anyone who would disrupt the dressing room.

Failed in this league, and quite clearly has failed in Turkey after making just 2 apps.

No thanks.

I really don't understand this mentality at all.

Because Boyd 'failed' at another club at the same level, that means he is doomed to failure at every other?

If all clubs are equal, and players are equal at all clubs, then what is the point of managers? Or, indeed, the league at all? I thought the whole point of a manager like Adkins is that he gets more out of players than most other managers do?

What on earth are we doing with the likes of Chaplow ('failed' at Preston), Cork ('failed' at Coventry, Watford), Harding ('failed' at Ipswich), Richardson ('failed' at Leeds)...

Incidentally, Boyd terminated his own contract in Turkey and is suing the club, on the basis that they've never actually paid him.

The guy was top scorer every season in the SPL for Rangers. and he managed 6 in 10 for Forest last season. What on earth would we have to lose in taking him on a short-term 6 month contract? Very little. And what would we have to gain? Potentially, promotion.

We should get the lad Rhodes from Hudds.
Every club higher up in the English leagues tghan Huddersfield, and probably a few abroad, will be looking at Rhodes. Anyone would be stupid to overlook him, and I can see a bidding war in January for him. This will push the asking price up, and before you know it you're overpaying for him. The same will apply for any in-form striker - the key is to get in as swiftly as possible in January and cross your fingers other clubs haven't noticed.

I believe Boyd was on £22k per week at forest and was a key reason why Billy Davies got sacked for complaining the board didn't back him. Depends whether we think he is worth that - I guess if he got us up he would be.

Based on my understanding, that would fit our current wage 'structure.'

Boyd is a lazy goal hanger. He'll get you a few goals but only if you put them on a plate for him. If you think that kind of striker is what we need then he will do a good job. Personally I can't stand strikers that do **** all and rely on the rest to cover their lack of work rate.

As another poster said, he'll be back at Rangers to replace Jelavic in January. He and Rickie wouldn't work together, two goalscorers with no pace, and he'd have no reason to accept a short-term deal either as he'll not be short of offers with his goalscoring record.
