The Cat Posted 18 December, 2011 Share Posted 18 December, 2011 Thought the atmosphere was pretty average throughout. Not as intense as I thought it would be from either sets of fans. The flare and a few bottles and coins exchanged between supporters at the end livened things up a little.

70's Mike Posted 18 December, 2011 Share Posted 18 December, 2011 biggest difference is that the away end has a roof so noise stays in the ground, imo for years the myth of their support was built on the fact that you could not hear the away fans. funny thing today was all their songs and chants were the same as they sung 30years ago, they really are in a time warp
hypochondriac Posted 18 December, 2011 Share Posted 18 December, 2011 I thought the atmosphere from us was decent. I sang almost constantly throughout and the people around me did too. You can also see me in the replay of the goal charging down the stairs on about 68 minutes I think.

Essruu Posted 18 December, 2011 Share Posted 18 December, 2011 Jackanory is not a skate. He's not, but he's being a **** and talking ****** though. The atmosphere was pretty decent in our end today; Just watching the Sky+'d game back though and it's clear most of the mics were in front of the home stands. Let's be honest - the ground is a sh1thole and the acoustics are shocking apart from on their KJC Stand or whatever it's called now. And Jackanory, despite being a self-proclaimed 'lad', doesn't appear to have done much to have made himself known and liven things up
hypochondriac Posted 18 December, 2011 Share Posted 18 December, 2011 He may not be a skate, but he is most definitely a w*nker. LA77 Posted 18 December, 2011 Share Posted 18 December, 2011 Well I thought their support was utter w**k. "ner ner ner" and "pikey till i die" apart they were silent. The only noise they made was when they scored. They were home, played like an away side and were "passionate" when they scored. Vile ground and vile thick fans. Oh, what kind of mong fans would throw the ball away, and stop the flow of a game when you're losing 1-0 with 15 mins left?. ****** to them. Crap home fans. You're a mong BTW
JackanorySFC Posted 18 December, 2011 Author Share Posted 18 December, 2011 From what I saw, s***ing myself 90% of the time to be fair, we looked just lime them at ours, overwhelmed and oversung. It will be the same at ours as usual but was ssomehow hoping for a man u esc like group of 3k+ loons in black jumping around running things. The skates were shocking when a goal down though! And the "sha la la la" was laughable from the skates when not 4-1 facing relegation!
kpturner Posted 18 December, 2011 Share Posted 18 December, 2011 I didn't think either fans were very noisy today - although to contradict that when Pompey scored it was definitely the loudest noise I have ever heard from a home crowd. Their forum seems to be full of ****** taking about the Saints support - especially the Lallana thing. They also seem to think that Spurs do a much better rendition of "Oh when the .... go marching in". I think they are right in that regard.

hypochondriac Posted 18 December, 2011 Share Posted 18 December, 2011 The sort of bellend that refuses to wTch it in a pub in town surrounded by morons So you watch in a ground surrounded by morons and fans of your most hated rivals? Right... Never missed a game at Fratton, would you rather my seat ilwas taken by a skat Well seeing as there were empty seats, it would most likely have been unsold so I would have rather that happened tbh. I disnt cheer lamberts goal - that may make me a bottle job in your book but at least I was there in the only way I could be. As I said, it would have been better if you had not given them the money. Would you prefer me in walkabout windmilling the telle screaming "were coming for you" from a safe distance of 17 miles? Yes actually. I fail to see how sitting quietly with the enemy in their ground and giving them money to do so is better than watching it on TV.
saintscottofthenortham Posted 18 December, 2011 Share Posted 18 December, 2011 I didn't stop singing and neither did most around me. An awful lot of faces that I have never come across on away days though and far far far too many women, kids and proper old farts for a south coast derby for my liking. By far the Better team but threw it away at the end. Not bad for having 10 men all game.

dubai_phil Posted 18 December, 2011 Share Posted 18 December, 2011 To be hnest, for a Derby match it really wasn't THAT loud or intense from either set of fans. Sure a few songs from both ends came over the telly down here but it wasn't blood & thunder stuff. And the picture f the skate giving the w@kner sign to Fox at a throw in in the 2nd half just showed how sad they were.
saintscottofthenortham Posted 18 December, 2011 Share Posted 18 December, 2011 Couldn't believe the Pompey fans today. All game singing about sending is down (in 05'), beating u's 4-1 with a team they couldn't afford whilst half of our squad was cup tied and then, at full time, going absolutely mental over drawing 1 f*****g 1 at Fratton park! WTF! I thought they were meant to be intimidating! I done nothing but laugh the whole game at them.

Brought up to hate the skates and never missed a game there. Look, I was there and they were loud (no louder than us at SMS though) but we were just as quiet as them at ours? Genuinely don't know why? Was surrounded by skates "scumming" but after we scored they Were gutted and way way worse than us against them in the cup. Chez Posted 18 December, 2011 Share Posted 18 December, 2011 The noise during the warm up was top notch, the celebrations and noise for the goals off the scale, the rest was certainly better than the previous two that's for sure.
