"The role of Cortese is clouded a little by his media image as a comical buffoon, yet his passion and drive for perfection have been at the forefront of all that Southampton have achieved since the Liebherr takeover transformed the club's ethos."

Bit harsh, he doesn't help himself sometimes but he is far from a comical buffoon.

Enjoy.

A great read and no real complaints over the Cortese bit. He does indeed seem to balance those issues that might offend one or two with a passion and commitment that is second to none. Chairman don't exist to be popular - they are there to get the job done.

Proud to be a Saints fan reading all that and more convinced than ever that we will do well tomorrow.

Reading that makes me proud to be a Saints fan. We are stuttering a bit, and the skates are picking up. It is going to be an even game this time, but I cannot wait!!

As for the season, I still believe because of the inconsistentcy of the league we are in, that we will go up this season......just!

Really good read that.

Agree with the Pardew segment too, and that's possibly the first quotes we've seen from him since his sacking? He did lay the foundations and swung this club around in the season he was here. Promotion in the first season was always a total fantasy and it was more about changing the mentality of this team - and that's what we're benefiting from now.

Luckily we have another terrific manager in place to take us on even further, but you should allow time to thank Pard's for his contribution as he steered us back onto the road.

Think they are getting mixed up with a previous incumbent (or perhaps more than one). Referring to NC as a comical buffoon would indicate the rest of the article might also be nonsense. Perhaps I should read it to find out.
