Mattio Posted 14 December, 2011 Posted 14 December, 2011 (edited) For those of us who are: Skint/not season ticket holders/ can't be arsed with the hassle/ can't make it etc, where are people watching the game Sunday? Edited 14 December, 2011 by Mattio
Turkish Posted 14 December, 2011 Posted 14 December, 2011 The Alex. Avoid the Varsity it'll be full of mugs and students.
Norm Posted 14 December, 2011 Posted 14 December, 2011 Sadly, I will have to make do with the 'highlights' later. I shall be watching my grandson play and they have a stupid 2pm KO. You would think someone would have sorted out a morning KO to enable us to watch Saints. Not happy!

Ouch - most of tyro division 1 (under 11s) just cancelled their matches other wise I might be in the same boat watching my nipper. Take a little portable radio and ear phones then at least you can have whispering Dave telling you that saints "don't want to concede a goal now"
Norm Posted 14 December, 2011 Posted 14 December, 2011 To bs fair you really should get your priorities in order. FFS. 100% in order! Watching grandsons game. Thanks for your advice though.

ant Posted 14 December, 2011 Posted 14 December, 2011 The Alex. Avoid the Varsity it'll be full of mugs and students. This. End thread.
doddisalegend Posted 14 December, 2011 Posted 14 December, 2011 I prefer: "What Saints don't want to do now, Adam, is lose their concentration and let them get back into this game." Yes good old Dave. I like him but he is the master of stating the bleedin' obvious.....
stinhk Posted 14 December, 2011 Posted 14 December, 2011 Not strictly related to watching the game on TV in Soton but......bloody 'ell, just realised the game clashes with QPR vs Man U and then Villa Vs Liverpool. I'll never my local to show it. Damn!
mancsaint Posted 14 December, 2011 Posted 14 December, 2011 I will watch it on my mates large screen HD TV in Basel with a gross Warteck or two in hand. FCB beating Manure was a nice lead-up to this game. Mancsaint
ericofarabia Posted 14 December, 2011 Posted 14 December, 2011 Seeing as the thread as started to creep outside the Southampton area ... Goodfellas Bar in Ramee Rose Al Barsha Dubai. Has the ability to show numerous different games, and already made myself known to the manager and promised to bring in a few people to watch the game!! We will have competition for the main screen as it is the base for The Dubai Branch of Liverpool Supporters Club but we out numbered the Man You fans last week!!
ant Posted 14 December, 2011 Posted 14 December, 2011 its on BBC 1 isn't it? Yep. The Alex wins for me though as we don't have draught beer on tap in our living room, decent or otherwise.
kipstryker Posted 14 December, 2011 Posted 14 December, 2011 Joshua tree near the ground showing it for those that want more of a matchday experience. Will be open for returning coaches too. Not sure what time it is opening before the coaches leave but worth a wander for last minute refueling.
Mattio Posted 14 December, 2011 Author Posted 14 December, 2011 Apparently my mates are going to the Bridge Inn to see it, no idea what it's like in there non match day so should be interesting
latter day saint Posted 14 December, 2011 Posted 14 December, 2011 Apparently my mates are going to the Bridge Inn to see it, no idea what it's like in there non match day so should be interesting that's where i'm heading with a few mates.
Jonnyboy Posted 14 December, 2011 Posted 14 December, 2011 My toddlers childminder is throwing a party from 12pm to 2pm, Ive already informed her that we are only coming for the first half an hour.
Dalek2003 Posted 14 December, 2011 Posted 14 December, 2011 The Alex. Avoid the Varsity it'll be full of mugs and students. Surely they will be on their long winter vacation, that is Southampton Uni, the other one has shorter breaks for some historical reason.
Supersubpuckett Posted 14 December, 2011 Posted 14 December, 2011 the daylight inn near bromley for any se london based saints
Saint_Ash Posted 14 December, 2011 Posted 14 December, 2011 Really annoying, my father in law decided to have his 50th birthday on Sunday and has booked out half of the Osborne View Hotel in Hill Head Fareham at 2 for all the family to have a nice meal, he's a rugby man and doesn't give a sheet about football. So I hope to watch the first half an hour at home, pause the telly, have no radio on, turn the phones off, drive there, eat, come home and watch the rest of the game without knowing the score. Likely? Probably not!
Rebel Posted 14 December, 2011 Posted 14 December, 2011 he's your father in-law - he's not your father - fake an illness and stay home to watch the game if he's a rugger b*gger he deserves no less
Dr Who? Posted 14 December, 2011 Posted 14 December, 2011 At home in Royston..... you are ALL welcome, all beers on me!!!
Ekelund24 Posted 14 December, 2011 Posted 14 December, 2011 County Arms on Romsey Road by the hospital. You might even meet a few saints players in there and get some info on how the team will line up Will be a load of Saints fans in there on Sunday usually a great atmosphere! Will be out in Eastleigh for the game, cheap beer in Stones and the best breakfast in Hampshire in JKS from 10:30 if anyone is in the area!!!

Pilchards Posted 15 December, 2011 Posted 15 December, 2011 I'm gutted as I've booked to have my nails done for my works do.
ericofarabia Posted 15 December, 2011 Posted 15 December, 2011 HOW can you get it on overseas ? Although not on Sky, I guess The Football League has an arrangement with various overseas satellite companys. In the Middle East we will be able to see it on Al Jazeera (Al Jism). Far East I think have Fox or Star. The problem is most pubs overseas will be showing The Man U or Liverpool games. Luckily Goodfellas Dubai shows about 6 different events at once - result.
stkev7 Posted 15 December, 2011 Posted 15 December, 2011 Well my local Irish Bar doesn't open until 5pm so that idea has gone out of the window. I was planning on watching the game via my bet365 account like I did for the Blackpool game but looking at the schedule they don't have it. So it looks like I'll be trawling through random streaming sites for a decent viewing. If not Dave Merrington gets the call up.

Toomer Posted 16 December, 2011 Posted 16 December, 2011 The Four Horseshoes at Nursling is going to have a 50 inch screen up for the game, great food and guest ales.
squiggly_dan Posted 17 December, 2011 Posted 17 December, 2011 Any of you Plymothians have any recommendations? It's been a bit hit and miss getting to see Saints on TV since I've been down here - Walkabout will have it on, but the sound will likely be one of the Prem games!
david in sweden Posted 17 December, 2011 Posted 17 December, 2011 (edited) Pompey To bs fair you really should get your priorities in order. FFS. like Norm, I'm also a 50+ year fan. (so don't criticise our allegiance now)..BUT you clearly don't understand what it means to be a grandfather! (still it is poor planning to have a clash of KO times, especially as a lot of kids playing Tyro League will dream of playing for Saints when they're older...) derby games have always been few and far between, and with saints going up ..and Pompey's future (financially uncertain)..it might be decades before there is another season like this one. mcjwills Posted 17 December, 2011 Posted 17 December, 2011 Wife suggested visiting the daughter and grandkids on Sunday until I pointed out that the match was on. She tried to suggest taping it and that was met with derision, she has decided to visit on her own.
spadge47 Posted 17 December, 2011 Posted 17 December, 2011 +1 pint and breakfast fiver doors open at 11 COYR
Ewell Posted 17 December, 2011 Posted 17 December, 2011 Not that it would be on in the pubs round here due to the premier league clashes but I don’t follow why most people seem to want to go out for this one. I will be watching at home on my lovely HDTV with a great view, no week bladdered ******s pushing past to go to the loo every 2 minutes, as many cold beers in the fridge as I like at 1\4 of the cost and I may even invite a couple of mates round if they are lucky. Wherever we all watch it let’s just hope and pray for a great result! 3-1 to the Saints for me.

Norm Posted 18 December, 2011 Posted 18 December, 2011 Result! Grandsons game is OFF! Into town (keep her happy) home by 12.45, quick lunch and 1pm watch the game!
miserableoldgit Posted 18 December, 2011 Posted 18 December, 2011 The best place for me is my living room behind the sofa! I don`t think that it`s gonna be pretty!!

Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 18 December, 2011 Posted 18 December, 2011 The Four Horseshoes at Nursling is going to have a 50 inch screen up for the game, great food and guest ales. Hmmm, no guest ales and frankly ridiculous prices. Thieving bastards.
Mattio Posted 18 December, 2011 Author Posted 18 December, 2011 I ended up at my mates cos it was ticket only at the bridge and sold out, we had a full house in the end so wasn't too fussed!
