Spudders Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Last season we'd have gone in one down at half time, great to get that goal back before half time. I'm smiling again.
scott_saints Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Thank feck for the goal.... but doesn't sound very promising on sky sports tbf!!
sfcuk fan Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 We wanted a reaction to going a goal down ...... Triple woots for david mc goal drick
Cascadia Saint Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 urrggghh.. woke up late, did i miss much? actually the first thing i heard was mcgoldrick's goal, so i'm pretty happy!
Arizona Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Under the cosh for pretty much the whole first half, then scoring in the last minute. It's like Saints in a parallel universe. Hope they can keep it up. Sounds like we will need a much better performance second half to get anything from this though.
musesaint Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 I cannot believe it's US that finally scores late in a half....is this a sign of things to come??
revolution saint Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Thank feck for the goal.... but doesn't sound very promising on sky sports tbf!! No the difference between sky sports and radio hampshire is alarming!
Viking Saint Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 1-1...would've taken that at halftime....coyr!!!
TopGun Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Teh server is working but it deffo got slower at the end there!! If it shuts down after our fourth goal I won't complain though.
alpine_saint Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Last season we'd have gone in one down at half time, great to get that goal back before half time. I'm smiling again. Yep, a welcome break from tradition. In a way this team has already demonstrated more resillience than any Burley put out. BTW, saintkiptanui, I may be queer but I object to your accusation that I am dozy.
thefuriousb Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Come on alps are you not going to celebrate the equaliser? You were not so bashful in slagging them off a few minutes earlier!
BARCELONASAINT Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Thank feck for the goal.... but doesn't sound very promising on sky sports tbf!! Sky hate us, they would like to see us fail miserably.
musesaint Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 No the difference between sky sports and radio hampshire is alarming! Agree with that....they seem to be at different game F*ck SSN I say!
red&white4life Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 No the difference between sky sports and radio hampshire is alarming! My thoughts as well. Col.
Ex Ringwood Saint Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Under the cosh a bit, but to go behind and score quickly is great for the lads. Hope they can come out fighting from the off..2-1 to us BWP off his backside in injury time....
Ponty Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 If it fails we'll keep getting better ones until it doesn't TG. That's the plan.
Mr X Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 That's surprised me I thought the flood gates were gonna open when they scored
saintkiptanui Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Yep, a welcome break from tradition. In a way this team has already demonstrated more resillience than any Burley put out. BTW, saintkiptanui, I may be queer but I object to your accusation that I am dozy. Sorry hun xxx
alpine_saint Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Come on alps are you not going to celebrate the equaliser? You were not so bashful in slagging them off a few minutes earlier! Eh ? I said they held out longer than I expected !!
Um Bongo Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 what are they saying on sky sports then? And i quote 'Grim for saints'. I'd say they said Grim.
St.Thomas7 Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Does anyone know anywhere I can listen to the game from Menorca online?? Radio Hants just plays a message over and over saying that THIS service is for UK and Ireland only... as is SkySports live stream of soccer saturday... grrr.....
RoswellSaint Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Walk away from the computer for a few minutes and miss the goal...maybe I should miss the whole second half?
musesaint Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 what are they saying on sky sports then? Alarmist reactionary stuff suggesting that we aren't brilliant at all ......FFS!
washsaint Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 WTF are Sky on about? If you look at the stats on BBC it seems very even (albeit CArdiff with moe possession). 5 shots on goal for Cardiff, 3 fors Saints. 5 corners for us, 2 for them. 2 shots off target for them, 1 for us. So far so good..........a really tough away game to open up and we have not been disgraced (so far).
alpine_saint Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Does anyone know anywhere I can listen to the game from Menorca online?? Radio Hants just plays a message over and over saying that THIS service is for UK and Ireland only... as is SkySports live stream of soccer saturday... grrr..... Seems the only way is to cough up 30 nicker and get SaintsTV. Anyone know if it gets processed instantaneously ?
musesaint Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Walk away from the computer for a few minutes and miss the goal...maybe I should miss the whole second half? You'll miss the other 6 if you do :-)
Ohio Saint Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 I missed the start of the commentary, Is Surman playing as a wing back!? Anyway, 1-1 away against one of the better teams....Great so far!
revolution saint Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Agree with that....they seem to be at different game F*ck SSN I say! My thoughts as well. Col. Well they slagged us off before the game and they're the same pundits who reckon Redknapp was good for us so I guess Radio Hampshire might be nearer the truth....hope so anyway.
Arizona Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Sky hate us, they would like to see us fail miserably. Agree with that....they seem to be at different game F*ck SSN I say! It is possible however that Cardiff are infact a lot better than us. Just a thought. Personally I'd take Sky's neutral coverage as opposed to the audio OS.
Bromley Saint Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Radio Hampshire are having a 'mare with the half-time sequence!
tombletomble Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Walk away from the computer for a few minutes and miss the goal...maybe I should miss the whole second half? Maybe you should So glad we got one back before half time. We under the cosh for the last 15 mins of that half. It will really help the confidence of the youngsters to get back in the game so quickly. Come on. We can win this
musesaint Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 It is possible however that Cardiff are infact a lot better than us. Just a thought. Personally I'd take Sky's neutral coverage as opposed to the audio OS. Heretic Burn him!
TopGun Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Will JP bottle it and bring Wotton on early in the second half?
1965onwards Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Sky neutral? They think Lowe is a bigger W**ker than Saints fans do.
madruss Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 First league goal for DMG! Good start to the match, but Cardiff came back into it quite strongly in the second half of the half. Very promising that we recovered and got that oft-important goal just before the break. Should be a cracking 2nd half
Gully Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Sky neutral? They think Lowe is a bigger W**ker than Saints fans do. I thought Lowe and Stelling were best buds?
saintkiptanui Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 It is possible however that Cardiff are infact a lot better than us. Just a thought. Personally I'd take Sky's neutral coverage as opposed to the audio OS.leave your agenda at home, you are becoming the new alpine and you're a mod, can we vote mods off??
RobM Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 It is possible however that Cardiff are infact a lot better than us. Just a thought. Personally I'd take Sky's neutral coverage as opposed to the audio OS. Sky aren't neutral though, there has been some very well documented links between Sky Sports and Saints in the past. Even aside from Saints, they can be very biased towards certain teams or people.
1965onwards Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 Stellimg yes. But the ex-pros have had the inside story from MLT,apart from thier inate hatred of those who come into the game from outside.
St Landrew Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 It is possible however that Cardiff are infact a lot better than us. Just a thought. Personally I'd take Sky's neutral coverage as opposed to the audio OS. You should try Radio Solent's supposedly biased coverage, Arizona. If Tony Husband is commentating you can be sure that all the bias is with the opposition. Consequently, I'm happy with Radio Hampshire. Oops, that last bit reads like an advert. No doubt it'll be accused of such, along with my new USA Cheerleader status.
SaintDonkey Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 I missed the start of the commentary, Is Surman playing as a wing back!? Anyway, 1-1 away against one of the better teams....Great so far! It's total football remember
Ian the Red Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 ssn is crap, a jock giving his amazing insight into football, a complete wa$%^r who obviously does not like saints. Come on you reds
VectisSaint Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 It is possible however that Cardiff are infact a lot better than us. Just a thought. Personally I'd take Sky's neutral coverage as opposed to the audio OS. Why? Sky aren't neutral, and the commentary is from Radio Hampshire not from the OS. Unless Cope and Armstrong are blatantly lying (Cope might be but I trust Armstrong), its clear that we were well in control early on, then Cardiff came into it, and then we both scored. 5 corners for us would prove to me that we are not completely under the cosh.
dubai_phil Posted 9 August, 2008 Posted 9 August, 2008 What I find a shock is that we actually seemed to score a goal from a proper build up, lots of passes and then a bit of individual skill to set it up. It cannot possibly last but it's certainy not as depressing as sitting here last season was
