CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 12 December, 2011 Share Posted 12 December, 2011 It would seem that commercial salvage work is now being undertaken on the wrecks of three Royal Navy cruisers that were sunk by a U Boat (with a heavy loss of life) during WWI, and there's absolutely nothing we can now do to stop it: http://www.defencemanagement.com/news_story.asp?id=18282 Shameful. badgerx16 Posted 12 December, 2011 Share Posted 12 December, 2011 (edited) 1459 were lost, mostly reservists and cadets. The ships were so outclassed by the Germans they were called the 'livebait squadron'. Why on earth were these wrecks ever sold ? stu0x Posted 13 December, 2011 Share Posted 13 December, 2011 Slightly misleading thread title. Still, it cant be helped if the Tories will even sell our final resting places out from under us!
