Matthew Le God Posted 12 December, 2011 Share Posted 12 December, 2011 Police advise. Hampshire Constabulary didn't want to deal with that game plus New Year's Eve revellers on the same night.
SNSUN Posted 12 December, 2011 Share Posted 12 December, 2011 Good for me. I'm coming to the game on the 30th - I wouldn't have been able to make the 31st.

Oh the bloody Police again is it ? Perhaps we should all go to the game in a bubble Doesn't seem to be an issue for just about every other Police Force in the country !! LGTL Posted 12 December, 2011 Share Posted 12 December, 2011 Most other city police could cope with NYE and a football game, but good old Hampshire OB would be too worked. What a pathetic bunch they are.
Jack Posted 12 December, 2011 Share Posted 12 December, 2011 Suits me fine. A day in the pub, football, night out, and all day to recover on NYE

What a pathetic bunch they are. So Friday 30th December would probably, being the eve before New Years Eve, fairly quiet around the city centre, certainly more so than the usual Friday nights I would think. So good old Hampshire Constabluary decide to change a football fixture that will bring an extra 20,000 plus into the city, therefore giving them two busy nights in a row ? Genius. Genius. Those 20,000 aren't going to be drunk and most will head straight home after the game. Unlike those out on Saturday evening.

So if you apply that same logic to Saturday 3.00 kick off there isn't a problem, they would all be out of the city by 5.30 - 6.00.
The9 Posted 12 December, 2011 Share Posted 12 December, 2011 I'm quite pleased we've moved it, it gives us an extra day to prepare for the Brighton match.

Or another way of looking at it would be a day less to recover from the Palace game and prepare the Bristol City game.
The9 Posted 12 December, 2011 Share Posted 12 December, 2011 Or another way of looking at it would be a day less to recover from the Palace game and prepare the Bristol City game. But of course away games are more difficult to prepare for, so we're better off.

ludgershallsaint Posted 12 December, 2011 Share Posted 12 December, 2011 Worked out well for the team's perspective. One day less to prepare but it is the same for Bristol. Gives us an advantage for the game on 2 Jan
