david in sweden Posted 25 January, 2012 Share Posted 25 January, 2012 Brighton apparently signing Jonathan Forte tomorrow after having £1m bid accepted!! Now there's a sensation for you ... If you're right ..you'll win the "Rumour of the Month Award" ... otherwise I'd keep your head down if I were you ...
david in sweden Posted 25 January, 2012 Share Posted 25 January, 2012 Forte isn't even worth 100k. Sssssssssssssssssssssshhh ! (for goodness sake keep your voice down !) I thought we were pushing our luck pricing JP out at £1 million, but ......

thorpie the sinner Posted 25 January, 2012 Share Posted 25 January, 2012 On another note, in only my sons third pack of Championship match attax, we picked up the mighty Jose Fonte!!! he looked injury free which I am taking as a good sign lol!!! Gordon Mockles Posted 25 January, 2012 Share Posted 25 January, 2012 Forgot to add, good to have a wide option back at the club as RW has been a weak link. It's great to read a genuine Saints article too. No dictation. No script. Just genuine, heart felt words held by a regretful athlete that loves our club deep down! Nicola's brilliant, he loves our club, he's never mean unless you're naughty, I was a silly sausage, I love the club really...or words to that effect! Lol No damage limitation or back peddling whatsoever! LMAO Excuse my cynical sense of humour but you have to laugh. Ultimately, it's about time something was resolved but sad it illustrates our lack of transfer funds available & I didn't realise Lee was a freebie. Great acquisition really but a sign that we're scrimping & the impression on our ambitions the club have worked very hard to create couldn't be further from the truth. Let's hope we just get back to winning ways but I'd love some defensive back up. Now, more so than a new striker. We look weak suddenly at the back. Sussed out in a phrase. thorpie the sinner Posted 26 January, 2012 Share Posted 26 January, 2012 As we are playing on Tues, I would imagine our last day looking to buy new blood would be tomorrow or Monday at latest, depending on when cut off point to play on Tues is? could be an interesting couple of days!! We so need to beat Cardiff, if we do, I think our wobble will be over esp with players coming back to fitness! ibizasaint Posted 26 January, 2012 Share Posted 26 January, 2012 I see that Wigan are saying they only made an informal enquiry about Maynard... I reckon the Don is waiting for the last minute to make his swoop.. get maynard on the cheap as Bristol will then be letting him go for nothing in the summer. All the other stuff has been a smokescreen to keep the fans/ media distracted.

Ken Tone Posted 26 January, 2012 Share Posted 26 January, 2012 He tweeted me: "Sharp has a fixed fee. Saints willing to pay. Player ready to go. Saints waiting on something. I don't know what." If that is correct, the only logical explanation is that we have other irons in the fire ...maybe an ex-'Iron' in fact? ... and are waiting to decide which is the better deal. Brinkmanship ..may work well or may backfire if other clubs wade in at the last minute and nick players from under our noses.

Crazy Diamond Posted 26 January, 2012 Share Posted 26 January, 2012 There was a big japanese media presence at the game on Monday. When we played West Brom in 06/07 there were a fair few trying to watch Junichi Inamoto. One of them didn't have accreditation so bought a ticket to sit in the stand and write copy on him. My honest advice, being as nice as I can, is that you be wary of the Russian. I know for a fact that BBC Solent asked the FA if they were going to conduct a fit and proper persons test, they said at the time they just weren't bothered. I realise the guy passed the test, but it's so flawed (look at Portsmouth) and there's evidently a lackadaisical approach to it. I'd find it hard to celebrate your new found wealth when Eddie Mitchell carries on as he does and Denim is nowhere to be seen.
