Time To Drop Fox. Harding To Start V Skates?

I don't get the Fox love. I'm not saying Harding is the best LB ever and he makes mistakes but he still looks better than Fox to me. I think Fox crossed the halfway line with purpose once today other than didn't offer much going forward, defensively he sit off players far to much for me and when he is out of postion I'd like to see him sprinting back to help out the CBs not ambling back like he doesn't have a care in the world...

Harding isn't perfect but he offers more than Fox IMO.

This. And anyone knocking Guly after yesterdays performance amazes me. Thought he was the best player on the pitch. Offers up something different every time he gets the ball which is so so often as his movement is superb.

Tell me your joking!!! Fox never ever runs with the ball. He stops & then crosses. His dead ball ability is why we bought him & he aint allowed to take free kicks!! Defensively shocking & IMHO he is Adkins worst signing! £1.8m is way way too much!!!

Harding needs to start at the blue few Sunday!!

And if we had another fit striker I would drop Guly too!!

Surly you are the one who is joking! Drop Guly?! he had a brilliant game again yesterday!

Corky Morris!!!!! "You can't be serious?" Drop Guly!!! Corky, are you joking? I can't remember the last time I disagreed with a post of yours but...................................

Of course he can be serious, I kept telling the forum that Dickson was a pile of steaming stuff last year, but no they all said, you're a nutter, you know nothing he is amongst our best players and yet...................People have opinions about players,a particular aspect of a player's make up that pleases or displeases but at the end of the day it's the manager who decides...cos he knows more about football than most but with supporters, well sometimes it's about running around a lot and kissing the badge or even being a stand up comedian on Twitter and Facebook..

Harding for me! Fox needs to stop all these cross-field balls to the RW which 9/10 don't reach him or require a hopeful header. Harding seems more determined to over-lap on the LW and get to the byline and cross. Fox seems to want to cross from deep or try these hopeful punts up field. Plus Harding is better defensively as he doesn't often let his man past him. Fox has the flair and obvious talent and perhaps it's the transfer fee which is making me critical of him but I just think he needs to up his game for a LB who cost as much as he did.

As others have said, it's Harding for me. His understanding with Adam and his overlap play is an integral part of our driving, forwards movement. That dynamic does not feature when Fox plays, meaning that Adam has to come looking for the ball, too often with 2 opponents in tow. We just seem to have a better attacking balance when Harding is in the team.

Still a bit mythed that Nige claimed we would only buy players who would be an improvement on what we've got and yet we still find De Ridder and Fox struggling to hold down a place in the side.

I think De Ridder is fantastic, but if Nige isn't confident in starting De Ridder and Fox at this stage, you've got to wonder whether they've turned out how he expected them to or whether they're still adapting.

Erm...Fox has been first choice for a while now. Only times he hasn't played is when we've had 3 games in a week and he was getting jaded.

I don't think you can go far wrong with either. Harding had a point to prove on Sat and his performance reflected that, but if you take Fox out for a few games and then give him a chance again, I'm sure he would be the same. Flicking between the two of them keeps them both honest, it's a nice position to be in... most other clubs in the league would be delighted with just one of them!

I thought we bought Fox for his attacking threat but he does seem to stop 25 yds out to deliver diagonal (but sometimes good tbf) balls into the box. I really don't see much evidence of his so called attacking threat getting to the bye line behind defence and delivering really dangerous crosses. My main criticism of Fox is that he does get caught out of position too much..... and Llalana at the moment does not seem to have the energy and close down effort of earlier in the season. I think this is why Adkins made the switch vs Blackpool and Harding seemed to provide a better balance between attack and defensive cover. I also think for whatever reason we seemed to have more threat down the LH side in the last 20 mins vs Blackpool due to this. Good to see we have strong competition for place but Adkins needs to know who is 1st place LB is.

i cant believe morons who are saying drop guly, it is just unbelieveable! hes 4th top scorer in the division, admitedly i prefer him on the right and think hell go back there when dc is fit again but its just hillarious to see people talking about dropping him. I agree with harding starting against the skates i think fox is better going forward but harding is a much better defender and think it will make us more solid at the back.

Harding left back, Fox Left mid, Lallana on the right.

Me and you both. Gives us an attacking threat without getting too exposed and Richardson can make the Hardingesque runs for Lallana whilst Harding buys time for Fox to cross from higher up the field on the left, and his advanced position doesn't leave us exposed for a change.

You would lose that Lallana - Harding understanding though.
