vindaloo73 Posted 10 December, 2011 Share Posted 10 December, 2011 I've just been to the Sevilla Football Club ticket office to see the prices for next weeks game, Sevilla v Real Madrid and the cheapest tickets in the ****test area are €100!!! €100 for 90 minutes of football. I would love to take my boys but it would cost me €400!!! How can that price be justified? Would you pay almost 100 pounds to watch, say,Man U at St Mary's? Window Cleaner Posted 10 December, 2011 Share Posted 10 December, 2011 If you want to see Real Madrid you have to pay the price.
StDunko Posted 11 December, 2011 Share Posted 11 December, 2011 I actually wouldn't mind Saints steeply raising prices for premium games like that if we do go back up to the prem. But ONLY if it does not effect Season Ticket prices. Why not charge the plastics that only want to see Saints v Manure a premium? If you are not penalising the fans that pay up front for a ST, or go and support us in less glamourous fixtures against Wigan etc. The Manure game would still sell out I bet. boxosponge Posted 11 December, 2011 Share Posted 11 December, 2011 I only go to matches to watch Southampton.
um pahars Posted 11 December, 2011 Share Posted 11 December, 2011 I've watched a few games on the continent (france, Germany, Italy, Spain, Lithuania, Czech Republic etc etc etc) and I alwyas thought their prices were much better value for money than waht we had been paying so 100 Euros a pop seems well out of kilter. Is this specific to the Real Madrid game, or is that their normal price??? One thing that's often struck me when watching La Liga is that there always appears to be loads of "Barca" or "Real" fans in the home end, so maybe this price is on honour of them!!!!!!! But then surely your penalising people who have been to home/away games consistently over the years, why should they be made to pay more? We have to pay enough as it is. Generally on the continent tickets are a lot more affordable for your average working man i thought.
vindaloo73 Posted 11 December, 2011 Author Share Posted 11 December, 2011 The price of a normal ticket for someone like Valencia is €40 but for R Madrid or Barcelona is €100. As you may know, fans don't travel to games. Yesterday, Madrid v Barca, Barca only had 700 fans. I know the distances are longer here but some of the distances are long in England, and you still be able to see 1000 or so away fans. I am not a fan of the Spanish league as I think it's like the Scottish premier league. Every year the same teams win the league and during the season, it's rare for a small team to beat Madrid or Barca.
MbaleSaint Posted 11 December, 2011 Share Posted 11 December, 2011 We were in Seville a couple of years ago and the cheapest tickets to see them play Almeria were 50 euros, so around £50.
This Charming Man Posted 12 December, 2011 Share Posted 12 December, 2011 I went there with England and paid about €20 for a ticket. A proper Spanish ground and a great city. Even got the traditional welcome from the Spanish plod - a baton round the legs for doing nothing other than queuing up to get in the ground. Most clubs in Spain whack their prices right up for the games against Real Madrid and Barcelona, I've got a vague recollection that Malaga (before they suddenly became wealthy) were charging more for one game against Barcelona in some parts of the ground than it would cost to get a season ticket! The9 Posted 12 December, 2011 Share Posted 12 December, 2011 I watched Granada v Villarreal earlier in the season and there were tickets for €35 available the day before. In fact... If it was £100 I just wouldn't go. £42 for enforced transport to Portsmouth and back is already pushing it.
