I haven't bothered to read the post match thread as needless to say there was the normal "our bubble has burst" "we will struggle" We're not good enough" "we have been over performing" etc, etc.

But we have extended our lead at the top. When will people realise that every team will have a bad spell. We have just had ours. So get real and have a little belief and faith in our team and our manager. We are top of the league on merit, 43 points from 21 games is a superb return; we will still be top of the league before we play the Skate scum unless WHU can win 5-0!!

Negative as usual Dune. We were due a bad run and we have just gained 4 points from 4 games, so that's it draw a line and get back to winning. Yes we need to strengthen in January, a goalkeeper and a proven goal scorer are a must plus a midfielder with pace and energy and another CB. We will be there at the end of the season just keep the faith!

The issue is that the pack are closing in.

That's the bit that worries me most. I'm not particularly bothered about West Ham as coming second to them would be absolutely fine, but the gap to third worries me. It was in the double-figures very recently.

They would have to win by 6 goals at home to Barnsley to overtake Saints before we play Pompey next Sunday.

Barnsley aren't an easy team to break down. Will watch them shortly against Ipswich and see what they're made of.

Next weekend is shaping up to be a massive one for Southampton Football Club. I'm sure it'll be a rollercoaster of Championship football.

It could be really a turning point of the season in more than one respect.

Not saying it's a must win game as we had plenty of those last season - but it is all about pride and bragging rights!

Really hard to say which way it could go - but we could potentially be 7-points clear if results go our way!

Too much to ask but anything is possible in this league.

It is a concern about the goalkeeping situation - after all the calls for Bart to start, we need the steadying Kelvin back next week.

Possibly, although as you say it's more about the pride. The most ideal part of a strong win in that particular match would be the boost back up it'll the lads. They're well aware of the derby atmosphere.

I thought the way Saints rallied today was admirable - they kept their heads up and kept battering the Blackpool goal until something worked. To me it felt like it was only a matter of time. Given the benefit of hindsight and just a smidge of perspective, today hasn't turned out too badly at all.

Stick a bloody smile on your face, remember that we're top of the league and get behind the lads to knock the stuffing out of the dirty skates next week.
