I read this forum everyday, very rarely post, but this thread is obsurd!!

A) Adkins do your job..... We are top of the league, he took us up last year and we were bottom when he joined, pretty sure that counts as doing his job, in fact, doing a far better job than many of us thought he would.

B) Adkins must see how bad he is in training.... How the hell would you know that, the chances are he is great in training, he just is low on confidence. NA knows more about every player in the squad, probably the entire football league than you do.

Rant over, we should of won that game, we just ran out of luck maybe. Onwards and upwards with a couple of new additions in jan and we will be just fine.

He gets nervous big time - anybody can see that and it effects his game big time

Don't worry about it mate, it's just Dune going back to his stanley days.

The thing that gives me hope in this world is that when wassocks like Dune post tripe like this that at least the brilliant set of people that most Southampton fans are say something and back up Adkins and Bart.

We are top of the league - absolutely miles above where I expected us to be and mounting a very very realistic challenge to go up. I look forward to us putting up a massive fight against Pompey, and I'm sure if Bart has to step up he'll have a stormer (a la Wolves back in the day). Here's to our one of our longest serving players, the management team, and most intelligent Southampton fans. You're all top people. :]

Football club in replacements for injured players not quite as good as those they replace SHOCKER!

On that basis we alreqady have plenty of cover for Ricky.

Bart couldn't do worse a job of covering for him than he did covering for Kelv.

The only holes are in your flawed logic. We're top of the championship and you're having a go at the manager? after we DREW at home for the first time this season. The run was going to end sometime and good teams score last minute goals.

Kelvin makes howlers sometimes, lets not jump on Bart's back, he's had several very good games when he's filled in for Kelv, unfortunately today he had a bad one.

Sorry for saying it like it is. I shall endeavor to don my jesters hat and post something happy clappy in future.

Posting criticism is fine. Posting your opinion is fine, if it backed up with a clear reasoning. But posting blind criticism about our manager that directly contradicts the clear evidence about his prowess is going to attract comments like those you've had.

When we see a post from you that actually reflects how it is, your apology may be relevant. Since you claim Adkins isn't doing his job, despite taking us from the bottom of L1 to the top of the NPC, despite being unbeaten at home for a year and despite beating all expectations for this season, your apology counts for nothing.

He froze on the big day others have done the same remember Matt and Taibi at Old Trafford same goal! End of!

How did Taibi's Manchester united career go after that?

But Taibi had a very short "career" at MU. Bart has been here for a long time and has played very well for us generally. I remember him standing in for Niemi and doing a stirling job. He hasn`t become "useless" overnight.

Exactly. So you are agreeing with me that he's been useless for some time.

Let me see if I understand this. The goalie has a howler, so Adkins isn't doing his job, despite being an ex-keeper with feck knows how many coaching qualifications to his name, and seeing him every day in training and at reserve games, and because of his performance today its so obvious to the OP that he must be crap in training, despite him never actually getting to see training session and Nigel being there every day. Is that pretty much the jist of it?

If he hasn't seen how poor Bialkowski is then he's not doing his job.

You watch Bart in training every day do you? Cos if you don't you have no idea what you are talking about. Bart was poor today but will come good again as Kelvin did from similar performance. Adkins has stressed how good Bart looks in training. Having said that I always preferred KD and realise he is getting on now so we need to be clear about TWO successors - especially if we do get promoted. Bart may be one and (other than today) has shown to be an adequate stand in but who else?

Yep, pretty much.

forgot the first half of the season have we, how can you say that about any elements to do with saints, we have been treated to some smashing footy since nige took over and were still top!

Dune your a tosser big time I seem to recall people wanting Bart in above kelvin . Bart is a good keeper but he wasn't at the game today . These things happen . As for the other troll please just disappear you never provide anything constructive to threads just constant bile and negativity

Bialkowski didn't suddenly become a complete waste of space. Why didn't see how rubbish he is in training and get a replacement in.

Get a grip and start doing what you are payed to do.

You're absolutely right, he didn't. He just had an off day.

This is the problem with people like you; everything you see is either black or White. Either you're an insightful realist (or however you perceive yourself) or the absolute antithesis: a "happy clappy". And, in true Tory tradition, you use alternative opinions as a stick to beat people with. You may even be the complete fu.c.ktard who told me at the end not to clap my team off "because they're rubbish and Adkins is ****".

Sad. Terribly sad.

its been obvious for a few years that we need a new keeper

Exactly, so it is perfectly reasonable to say Adkins has rested on his laurels. Todays clangers were a result of this.

Jesus christ Dune, give it a rest.

You what? He was utterly useless in all departments. That was more than just an off day.

The players tried to lift him, Andy Crosby gave him a big hug at the end, Ricky Lambert said he made a mistake so did everybody else but if the goalkeeper makes one it usually ends up a goal. Not playing a league game for two years is soul destroying and all the training in the world is not the same. He didn't lose the game he made a misjudgement and he let in a goal, the first goal was Basham not being seen because Fox and Hoiveldt were both ball watching and getting in a free header. Schneiderlin, Guly, Hammond, Lallana and Lambert had scoreable chances and either hit the keeper or fired over. At least the team and the management are keeping a sense of perspective.
