Being cursed with the legacy of following Saints for all these years, cynical pessimism (although slowly wearing off), I get the same feeling before every home game.

I think though that we will get undone at home by a, respectfully, 'smaller' club than Blackpool.

If we lose today it is not a disaster. We have had a great start to the season and a run of games. Lets get perspective. At the end of the season if we:

1. Achieved auto promotion it would be beyond our wildest dreams.

2. Play off = fantastic achievement.

3. Top half = more than we planned for

4. Comfortable lower mid table ie 17th very happy and probably in line with our ambition over the summer.

5. Avoid relegation = job done.

6. relegaion = failure.

Gonna lose? Then do a bet, double chance, on Blackpool and the draw. Financially compensated if we lose or draw.£1000 should be a minimum bet, if you're that concerned we'll crash and burn today.

It all comes crashing down.

To be honest, this is a good way of looking at things. Where we are currently doesn't change any of the above, and actually helps put things into perspective and takes the pressure off a bit... whereas some of the reactions to our recent away defeats actually do the opposite. Keep the pressure off the lads and let them play, and we'll see what we can achieve.

I agree. We must remember this is our first season back in the NPC and provided we are building for the long term, which we are, in a sustainable way (unlike Wham or Leycester), then we have to be patient. Again. this is not a wind up , just a way of saying keep our feet on the ground and our objectives achievable.

If it does end today I hope people react by applauding what has been an amazing run. Rather than instantly moaning like little girls.

Is that too much to ask?

I think it's quite possible to recognise the great run but simultaneously be worried about our current form should we lose. That's how I'll feel anyway.

Worried about what ? We have enough points in the bag to see a fairly comfortable finish, at the worst. I cannot see a wholesale collapse, just a gentle slide down the league !
