Brighton Sold Out

Just back from the ticket office, Brighton have sold out already!

In that case, if anyone has 2 spare teen tickets for my son and friend (who has been to all away games so far this season and is not going to be impressed I did not get down there in time), they would be much appreciated!!

Er it is a bit. I see the reasons why both would have differing appeal to people, but wouldn't have expected such extremes in demand as that. Plus was more laughing at our ticket office than our support in this instance.

New ground, mini rivalry, free for all to season ticket holders, i had a feeling they would go like hot cakes.

As I jsut said, I can see the reasons for differing appeal between the two trips, just not that massive level in difference in the demand. I reckon it'll actually be a pretty rubbish away for one reason or another, but can see why its popular this time around.

It was only announced yesterday? Imagine if you'd been away for a couple of days, come back and check Saints news and realised you've missed out, ha!

I have been waiting for these tickets to come up for weeks. I was away on business earlier this week, but luckily for me I spotted it when I looked first thing this morning otherwise I would be one of those people that missed out and I would have been well browned off.

SFC have become bloody clueless when it comes to away ticket sales. The website is shocking, the timing and information provided poor and there seems to be a total disregard for the needs of away supporters. SFC earns a commission for every away ticket sold. You'd never believe it though the way they go about it.

I'm happy I have got one, but for anyone that missed out, my sympathies.

There was no other way to do it. Imagine the carnage if they tried to do another ballot and post the tickets out in time for them to reach everyone. Though if I'd missed out on one, having been to every away game bar 2, I'd be fuming and demanding to know why they didn't do a ballot.

Not at all surprising. It would seem to me that Saints also sold the initial allocation of those Last 10 home game packages that they were offering and are going to put up some more of those for sale.People want to see the Saints play as much as they can

evidently, probably because we're top of the league, playing well and promotion favourites.

The only reason which explains the relative difficulty we had in shifting the Skate tickets is that the Club and the OB combined to make it unnecessarily complicated.

Someone couldn't wait to let them know...no doubt they'll now be saying it's our cup final. BTW (and to who it may concern) it sold out in 6 hours not "24" and why have you told them we can't sell out for the skates?

People that go and do that are utterly sad c**ts.

Yep, I bet there'll be a massive crowd in tomorrow. Also on that "Brighton Sold Out" news story, why do they mention that block 42 is open tomorrow? Its always open for league games, utter cretins.

Leeds and the like have ballots for almost every game. They seem to cope. Even if there was no ballot they still could have given much more warning than a day that tickets will go on sale. We seem to leave it late every time these days.

B()gger !! Living so close I was hoping to get one.

Word of advice for those going: get to the stadium early, preferably 1 hour before KO, especially if going by train or you will get stuck in the crush at Brighton station. You can pass the time by quaffing the Harvey's or local guest beer which will be specially available on the day.

If anyone does end up with a spare ticket though.....

Utterly ****ed off with this. Didn't even know they were on sale yet. The fact they sold them in six hours suggests a ballot would have been fairer but of course the ticket office couldn't care less as they long as they sell them. Can't understand the total overreaction about how to allocate tickets for and police the Pompey game and that a complete free for all for Brighton. Odd.

I was lucky. When I collected my Pompey tickets on Wednesday I asked about Brighton tickets and they said they were going on sale early next week. It was only because I got a text from a mate today that I went online and bought them.

So 2 days before they went on sale the ticket office didn't know when they were going on sale. Mental.

I have missed 2 aways in the last 3 years. I couldn't get there until this pm so have missed out. Ho hum, I'm just one more ordinary fan but I'm really disappointed that the club couldn't bother to ballot this one as is the norm. Dear Mister Cortese, that's a bit **** isn't it and in retaliation I'm not going to buy any more hot dogs that, er I don't buy anyway. It's pathetic being a football fan. Your dealer can treat you like dirt and you just come back for more.

We missed out cause a mate wouldnt answer his phone!!!!! by 4pm they were gone. Who ever rushed to report to brighton fans that we havent sold out our pompey, you're a ****, and above that, you're wrong. We applied for more tickets when they said we could, and got rejected.

But nicer place to go for a day, or even a weekend of it. As well as not feeling on edge all the time.

Saying the above I cannot wait until the next time I can go to Fratton to watch Saints..... it is so exciting and the rush of just being there is sooo good. I have only experienced it in a friendly, but was still intence! It has been ruined with the travel arrangements and missing the train journey and the walk to the ground is part of the derby day I love....

Where did the rumour start that we sent 400 unsold tickets back?

personally i think it is a shambles, - no announcement in the MP at the last home game, just a post yesterday that the tickets are going on sell to season ticket holders to day and no ballot to those that go to the most away games..... hence we missed the boat on this one, really feel the club have short changed loyal travelling fans on this one, there must be a better system available for sorting this out :(

agree with this whole heartedly.... not really much of a stratergy is it, if for games with limited numbers those that travel on a regular basis don't get the chance of a small pre sale period, otherwise what is the point of being particular in assigning customer numbers to away tickets so that when matches with limited availability come up its just a free for all, also the fact the the mp carried no information regarding the b & h game is shocking... three pound and no news at all.... have a little look MR c, we could do better here me thinks!

Well, I got one and I think the whole thing smacks of the TO just not being bothered to do it properly - having shifted 4000 for Reading we were always going to sell way more than were on sale. As it happens we also picked up the travel vouchers at £1. 50 each only to find the train to Falmer is the same price as the one to Shoreham, so no saving by getting the voucher.

I'd be interested to find out if any other club charges for the voucher, too.

I logged onto the site by chance on Thursday evening and saw that they were going up for sale the following day.

Perhaps a fairer method would have been to put them for sale on Monday, and announce today at the game that this would be happening.

I had the opportunity to get on the phone at 0830 yesterday as I was on the late turn, had it been next week I would have probably missed out.

Collected mine from the ticket office today. Lots of unhappy people complaining as you might expect. I understand the ticket office response was "we sold them as you have all been saying and moaning we should" I.e first come first served. Not sure that's quite what we have all been saying but seems to be a response to the complaints about the ballot proceses.

Should bring the system they had in place a few years ago back.

Few days for ST Holders with a few away games on their account

ST Holders

General sale.

Not for every game but ones like this where they will sell out quickly.

Absolutely. If they had have applied this for the skate game, there would have been no need for a ballot at all. Just give STH's with 6 or more away games, for example, 2 days to buy their tickets, and then it just carries on. It sure as hell wouldn't take as long as the ballot.
