I only got it yesterday so can't really say. Reviews are quite good and at only 10p you can go back to your normal keyboard if you don't like it.

For some reason, possibly to do with where the company is based, some have vat some don't. I have bought 5 so far and only 1 has had vat added.

There is one comment saying if you buy them you will have access to download them for life. Is this true? Would it still work if I bought an android based tablet or a new android phone?

If you tie the new phone to the same google account then yes. One priviso is that android devices tell google market what they can do and you can only install devices on a machine that supports them. So for example if you bought an app that needed bluetooth you could not install it on a machine that did not have it.

What is swiftkey like?

 

I love it. Better than the standard Android keyboard. Analyses your text styles and then tries to predict the next word in your sentence when you finish typing the current word. I can't use normal textting phones now as a result!
