Joe Curtis scored again, Seagar and Jake Sinclair with the other goals. Ward-Prowse started on the bench because of the cup game on Monday. Spotted Cortese watching in the highlights on Player.

Was this the same U18's that lost to the skates U18's ?

they've obviously got their priorities right then.

Of course they have. The dream of all saints academy boys is a mega bucks move to Arsenal. The boys probably upped their game knowing Wenger would get to hear about it and start tapping them up.....

Just watched the highlights and Dodd said that Cortese, Hunter, and the first team management team were all present.

Seems like we have a lot of prospects but I'm genuinely intrigued to see how we try to integrate them into the first team over the next few years. It would be great to see some break through and remain at the club longer than a season.

IIRC We had a lot of our U18 on international duty that week and basically had to play the U16s. I could be wrong though

Gape was in for Ward Prowse that day, otherwise a pretty strong line up.

Jack Stephens, Luke Shaw, James Ward-Prowse and a number of other players didn't play in that game some on international duty, others played recently for the under 21's and were rested. So a few under 16's played against Pompey and fringe players from the 22 scholars Saints have. It was far from the best Saints XI so Pompey can't gloat too much. Gape only came on as a late sub btw.

Steve Mowthorpe, Matt Young, Jordan Turnbull, Bevis Mugabi, Conor O'Sullivan (Dominic Gape 78 ), Daniel Bowman (Aaron Ward-Baptiste 65), Harrison Reed, Jason McCarthy, Gregory Ariybi (Omar Rowe 55), Joe Curtis, Jake Sinclair

I went along for the Pompey game and it was fairly eveident that our team was, on avearge, a year or so younger than the Pompey lads.

This is why you will get some 'odd' results in this competition as the U 18's will often include U 16's or triallists

Best indicator is the Youth Cup where all teams should field their strongest line ups

Nice one, thanks. Does anyone know if we can still go along to Staplewood to watch the U18s for league games?

I teach Jason McCarthy, he is still only in year 11. Saints have extremely high hopes for him, he is also a really nice down to earth lad, so good luck to him.
