dune Posted 6 December, 2011 Share Posted 6 December, 2011 Anyway back on topic, there is something amiss here. Why the secrecy over the allocation? Why the stipulation for non season ticket holders to have attended 4 aways or more? If tickets have been returned (and I doubt we'll ever hear that officially) then who made the decisions that led to this embarrassment?
Chez Posted 6 December, 2011 Share Posted 6 December, 2011 This figure of 3200 keeps coming up, and I know it was reported on their OS, but I'm fairly certain that end doesn't hold that many. It was rammed with Brighton, Leeds and a few others and the most is around 3000. Despite what dune keeps banging on about I can see no way the OB aint gonna demand a section of seats either side of that end be used for segregation. If all this is so I can't see us having any more than 2800 (2400 IF we've sent back 400). So if the OP has any truth in it then I'd say it's almost definitely a case of 'wouldn't' not 'couldn't'.there are 3206 seats and there was no seats used for segregation purposes on the left hand side of the Milton end when we visited before. I've been in the Milton since they swapped the side away fans get and there is no segregation seats on the right side either. Having said all that with this bubble concept who knows how overboard they might go on segregation
Window Cleaner Posted 6 December, 2011 Share Posted 6 December, 2011 Will be interesting to see how the OB handle accusations of fish firkin and horse fiddling though. I mean that's not very PC is it,far worse than being gay,I mean those are crimes aren't they??
Chez Posted 6 December, 2011 Share Posted 6 December, 2011 My guess is that tickets have been returned its because police advised the club only to sell season ticket holders,or something along those lines, would have easily sold if on general sale to database.why then require 4 aways? Why also allow season ticket holder to buy a spare for non season ticket holders
Window Cleaner Posted 6 December, 2011 Share Posted 6 December, 2011 why then require 4 aways? Why also allow season ticket holder to buy a spare for non season ticket holders I'd think that ST holders or their "+1s" could be relied upon not to behave badly and if they should well banning them would be easier and more effective than it would with any intermittent supporter. Tokyo-Saint Posted 6 December, 2011 Share Posted 6 December, 2011 It's boll0x. At no point did it say, season ticket holders successful in the first ballot can now buy additional tickets (and be ahead of our usual travelling support in priority), however please be aware you will be responsible for whoever you buy tickets for. If the guy next to you (your plus one) starts acting like a Knob and gets thrown out, your are not going to get into trouble are you?

Sour Mash Posted 6 December, 2011 Share Posted 6 December, 2011 You couldn't ban a ST holder for the behaviour of a +1. It was either the start of this season or the start of last, the club sent a letter out to season ticket holders warning them that they are responsible for anyone they buy tickets for. In theory the club can ban any fan for any reason unfortunately.

I doubt the small print even says that. Think somewhere in some of the small print the ticket is property of the club, they don't even have any obligation to let you in. Only in football. Lets B Avenue Posted 6 December, 2011 Share Posted 6 December, 2011 Back on topic (sort of) - Has anyone who applied on the 2nd ballot (not linked to someone from the first ballot) actually heard anything yet? I takes me bloody ages to travel to Southampton and need to know if I have to do it to pick up my coach ticket sooner rather than later. If I do have to travel down, I would like to see the Blackpool game on the same day. The ticket office have really made a meal of this process. Just back from TO having picked up my bus tickets from ballot 1. Ballot 2 hasnt been processed yet. Too early to panic. My guess is that tickets have been returned its because police advised the club only to sell season ticket holders,or something along those lines, would have easily sold if on general sale to database. If you are that gullible to believe this ridiculous rumour, would it be allright if I come round tonight and sell you some life assurance and some time-share and some double glazing and some ......... Tokyo-Saint Posted 6 December, 2011 Share Posted 6 December, 2011 cutting it a bit fine aren't they?? Especially if they expect people to travel to the ticket office to pick them up. I will have to come down from London to collect them and if you have to collect in person, my brother may have to come down from Cheshire. Unless they let me pick up both applications? It is pretty stupid, if they are going to take ages about it, can they not just post out the tickets, especially to those not living in Hampshire? Barry the Badger Posted 7 December, 2011 Share Posted 7 December, 2011 The only reason I know what is going on with tickets and picking up coach passes is that I'm on this site. There must be hundreds of fans out there who also have not received an email and so have no clue what is going on. My mates only know because I've been able to forward the email people have posted on here. The article on the clubs website 2 weeks ago stated that all succesful applicants from the first ballot would receive details by email 'shortly' if I remember correctly. The ticket office must have a very different interpretation of the word shortly to me.

Toomer Posted 7 December, 2011 Share Posted 7 December, 2011 (edited) I wonder if we will get a North Car Park closed anouncement Saturday due to people picking up their bus pass, I'm glad I went down yesterday. As Steve said above some people could be in for a shock, this time of year some will be close to the edge on the money front and the club could ask their banks for the money only to get a knock back as funds not available for the reason Steve has mentioned, e-mail by 1st Dec. PokingFun Posted 7 December, 2011 Share Posted 7 December, 2011 Not Good. Our support will be ridiculed on national tv for having empty seats for our local derby away game despite being top of the league No-one other than saints and pompey fans will give a toss about empty seats. Its not exactly the most important thing in most people's lives funnily enough.
PokingFun Posted 7 December, 2011 Share Posted 7 December, 2011 They would've sold out come KO. Not selling out for this is quite frankly embarrassing on our part. Where are all the mugs who were paying £60 for Orient tickets and £100 for Bournemouth? The 4,500 that went to Reading for a televised game? Shows our support to be full of soft mincers who'd rather a happy clappy, nice day out at safe old Reading and the like, rather than experience a proper atmosphere at a proper derby game. As for those saying they're not going as they don't want to give any money to the Skates, so you'll just be watching it on the TV. I assume you don't have a TV License and don't have a Sky subscription? How about realising that most people want to be able to travel to a game by their own means rather than being herded like cattle etc etc. Just because people decide not to attend does not make them soft mincers or whatever phrase you choose to use. I suppose you're going for a scrap then, is that it?

Born In The 80s Posted 7 December, 2011 Share Posted 7 December, 2011 Have they been unsuccessful in the ballots then?? No, they didn't apply but want to go (non-ST holder, and only been to 3 away games). My brother rang them up a couple of days ago asking if there would be any left after the 2nd ballot for fans like himself, and he was told that they couldn't be sure but it was highly likely that they received more applications than tickets available (after the 2nd ballot). He was told that the people in the 2nd ballot would know by Friday and if any were available after that then they'd go back on sale. There's absolutely no chance that we don't sell out for this game. I'm amazed that so many people are ****ting themselves about the prospect of empty seats. No chance. Thousands of fans haven't even had the chance to buy a ticket yet!! Chill out. I will say one thing though. The ticket office need to buck their ideas up. This process has been nothing short of a complete shambles.

Tokyo-Saint Posted 7 December, 2011 Share Posted 7 December, 2011 A big part of the problem is that the ticket office have told different information to different people. There has been very little 'official' information about what is going on, so people have been left to speculate. My brother got twitchy and called them yesterday. They told him that EVERYONE who applied to either ballot has been successful. They have loaded on the applications from the first ballot and they are in the process of the 2nd ballot now. I have been checking regularly and our tickets have just been added this afternoon. I still haven't had an email so cannot pick the tickets up yet. This leaves less than 10 days to collect them, a bit of a problem for those living 100's of miles away. There was no information on any tickets left over going on general sale. Still having them on showing on my account calls for a little.... SHA La La La La La La who the ***** is laughing now?
