Hatch Posted 5 December, 2011 Posted 5 December, 2011 Toss up between Diego Maradona and Keith Cassells
SuperMikey Posted 5 December, 2011 Posted 5 December, 2011 Without a shadow of a doubt, it's got to be Josh Dutton-Black.
LGTL Posted 5 December, 2011 Posted 5 December, 2011 Messi is the greatest I've ever seen live, followed by Zidane. From what I've seen from times before my era, Maradona was a ****ed up genius though.
rpb Posted 5 December, 2011 Posted 5 December, 2011 It was 40 years ago but, in my opinion, the man who made both Saints' goals in this clip is the greatest...

JackFrost Posted 6 December, 2011 Posted 6 December, 2011 Toss up between Pele, Maradona, Messi, Ricky Lambert and Richard Chaplow. .
Sergei Gotsmanov Posted 6 December, 2011 Posted 6 December, 2011 It was 40 years ago but, in my opinion, the man who made both Saints' goals in this clip is the greatest... Love that so much. The referee was outrageous.
rpb Posted 6 December, 2011 Posted 6 December, 2011 Love that so much. The referee was outrageous. This one is good too - Jenkins, Paine and Channon getting the better of Bobby Moore.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 6 December, 2011 Posted 6 December, 2011 Jermaine Wright He was a all time great for us, but Booby Moore gets my vote.
OVER THE HILL Posted 6 December, 2011 Posted 6 December, 2011 Terry Paine first,Nick Holmes second, John McGrath third.
sambosa75 Posted 7 December, 2011 Posted 7 December, 2011 Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo would run rings around any of the old school greats in my opinion. Best player I've seen in his pomp is Thierry Henry. I think people forget how ridiculously unplayable he was.

The things that guy could do with a football were quite breath taking.
CB Saint Posted 7 December, 2011 Posted 7 December, 2011 Current - Lionel Messi - he played the best 45 minutes of football that anyone has ever played when Barca took Arsenal apart.
jjsaint Posted 7 December, 2011 Posted 7 December, 2011 Current - Lionel Messi - he played the best 45 minutes of football that anyone has ever played when Barca took Arsenal apart. Messi certainly has the potential to be the best footballer of all time, if he isn't already.
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 7 December, 2011 Posted 7 December, 2011 I would say Puskas, Di Stefano or Gary Breen.
supersonic Posted 7 December, 2011 Posted 7 December, 2011 I can't decide between Forecast, Davenport, Pulis or Ali Dia?
sambosa75 Posted 8 December, 2011 Posted 8 December, 2011 You obviously never watched Maradona in his prime then ! The things that guy could do with a football were quite breath taking. Was a bit before my time admittedly and was obviously a great player for his time but football moves on. Players are also now athletes with superior conditioning. Because of this the opposition is also stronger which is why I am confident if you took Maradona from 1986 and directly compared him to Messi as he is now, Messi would be the better player.
a1ex2001 Posted 8 December, 2011 Posted 8 December, 2011 if you took Maradona from 1986 and directly compared him to Messi as he is now, Messi would be the better player. Which is a ridiculous thing to do becuase if Maradona was raised in todays game he would have benefited from all the extra conditioning work and similarly Messi if he had been a pro in '86 would have learn't his trade in the back waters of Argentina rather than having all the advantages of a comfy life at Barcelona.
