I don't think the team is "choking" but some of the "fans" appear to be.

On the good side, Hypo seems more positive these days and Lard has thankfully disappeared (touch wood). However, Alps, Dalek (mindless robot), Charlie Wayman (sacrilege for him to use that name), 'Professor' (certainly not of football) and a few others still seem to revel in negativity and an overpowering desire to be proven right. Imagine looking across the dressing room at that lot and knowing what they'll do when the going gets tough.

The Donny result was poor but we were without two "must play" players and a third is fighting his way back to fitness. Every team has bad spells. We certainly have issues to address but we're still top and we have money to spend.

Overall there's much more reason to be positive, and if people can't enjoy these times maybe they should find another interest.

If they think the ship is sinking perhaps they should go for a swim.

Lard was here the other day, laying into NA if I recall correctly.

Oh, well, spoke too soon, dammit. Still, it'll only be three posts per day of his desperate anxiety to come on here and say "I told you so" rather than "We're going back to the Premier League".

I think Lard has a new job anyway, think he might have been in the Lounge expressing some sort of reservations that he had lost his ability during his sabatical year. Probably just one of those people who just can't stop themselves from grannying.Permanent Anxiety Syndrome is the name the medics recognise it by I think.

QPR won the Championship last season. Take a look at their form around this time of year:

I am not for one minute excusing the performances against Bristol City and Doncaster which were underwhelming and disappointing in terms of what we have managed thus far this season, but if people think we are wobbling and it is the end of our promotion hopes then they should consider that we can wobble a lot more and still be in half decent shape for promotion.

The world does not end with two defeats in three - look at the indifference of form from QPR there. 8pts from 21 available.

Exactly, I made a similar point on the last post match thread. Every team will go through a sticky patch or two over the course of the season. It's very rare that a title winning side has everything it's own way all season. ManU have often lost to pants sides then gone on to finish top.

I'm not saying we'll definitely finish in the top two, just that knee jerk reactions to a couple of losses aren't going to help. If things go even worse over the next month then maybe we'll have reason to worry.

Imagine the panic and crying on here if we had a run like that. Which is very possible and probable!

We've overacheived so far this season. Most rational fans had us posted as mid-table for this season so it was inevitable that we would have a wobble at some point. Given that we have a fair few players who had plied their trade a L1 level before this season I think Adkins has done very well in getting the most out of them.

If we keep pretty much the same squad as we have I think we will finish in the playoff positions, if we spend a large proportion of the Oxo money then I think we can push for a top 2 finish.

At last someone who must see me as a rational fan.

The championship must be the hardest league in the world, theres a tiny gap between the top and bottom clubs and it only takes one player to be off their game to lose three points in a match, NA will have em back to their best vs blackpool.

I don't think the squad or management are choking. I do think that Adkins is having a problem chosing his best side though to cope with a style of play that suits an away match. I also suspect that Guly HAS to play regardless, if fit...a contractual thing or perhaps an edict from Cortese? I think we'll be acquiring some new talent in Janaury if we're still in the top three, otherwise perhaps not.

No i was not...read the post correctly, and you should read the thread in the lounge correctly also while you are at it.

My view was balanced and praised NA also, in the job thus far.

Just because i don't subscribe to the unquestioning love in with all things NA says and does, but that does not mean i don't think he is doing well overall.

I think your comments on both matters are unjustified.

Hardly laying into Mr NA,would you not agree?

You posted soon after, why not pick me up on it then if it was so damning?

No, its just because i don't subscribe along with a select few that NA is beyond reproach for anything he says/does.And when you get together the only thing you can do is bleat...just like sheep...oh the irony.

My Boss, who is a QPR ST holder on a very long snowy drive yesterday, refererred to the "end of the World" run featured above having suffered many years of fruitless hope. Like he said if you are going to have a wobble have it now rather than during the latter stages of the season, when your destiny becomes more reliant on others.

It really is unbelievable the crap that some so called supporters post. Championship Chokers - two poor away performances and we are now chokers. Over achieving - since when has this team been over achieving? 13 wins out of 20 games is not over achieving, the team is playing to it's potential.

As for the away performances, I have seen the matches at Ipswich, Leicester, Derby, Reading, Coventry and Bristol, 2 wins, 2 draws and two loses. To be fair we deserved 3 points at Leicester and Derby, Bristol and Reading we got what we deserved.

So our away form needs to improve, we all know that and when the January window opens we will see if the Club and Nigel has the desire to push on. We need 3 or 4 quality players, buy a striker a CB, a winger with real pace and a quality midfielder and we will be covered for injury. Without decent signings we will begin to struggle and then posters can have a moan, but not now FFS.

We are top on merit, not luck, not through other teams losing but through the fact that we have retruned a greater haul of points than any other team in the league. Plus we have destroyed very good teams along the way. We have had two very poor away performances, but that was always going to happen.

Get behind the team and stop moaning. Enjoy our success FFS!!

To choke you have to either lose a winning position with the finish line in sight or every time you go top you slip off it again; as neither has happened then the bloke who revels in maintaining their negative awkward internet persona is wrong yet again.
