ericb Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 what a **** tie, no offence to Cov but seeing as we're top of the league i was hoping for a bit of a glamour day against someone like arsenal so we could go out but not disgrace ourselves. Oh and the skates have chelsea which is annoying, probably means they'll get some cash for that.
shurlock Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 (edited) At least a place where we can actually win...dull draw. Edited 4 December, 2011 by shurlock
View From The Top Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Well that's a free weekend. Even though it's 45mins away I CBA with that.
Ewell Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 A boring draw and one that wont get either team excited.
Monk Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Being a Saints fan living in Pompey working for Chelsea, that is an ideal draw!!

Sour Mash Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Massively dull draw. Hopefully really cheap tickets to attract a crowd in then.
Nexstar Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Coventry fans planning a boycott for this game according to their forum. Just seen this. Dull draw but it might be interesting to see more away fans (and not many at that) in a 33,000 capacity ground.
Dalek2003 Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Do we take the Cup seriously or consolidate our future in the NPC ?
whizzpop Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Get behind the team doesn't matter who we draw!!! Whether Coventry Barnsley Wigan or man city. Can't believe some of the apathetic responses!
RonManager Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Another chance to get to Coventry. Hopefully I'll get closer than Euston station this time!
saintscottofthenortham Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Do we take the Cup seriously or consolidate our future in the NPC ? If we take the cup seriously there is no way we will finish 17th. Relegation it will be I'm afraid my friends.
Nexstar Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Get behind the team doesn't matter who we draw!!! Whether Coventry Barnsley Wigan or man city. Can't believe some of the apathetic responses! The FA Cup is about playing teams above or below you who you otherwise wouldn't have the chance to play. We play Coventry twice already this season and were at the Ricoh less than a month again. People will still get behind the team but this draw is nothing but dull.
Lighthouse Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Coventry fans planning a boycott for this game according to their forum. Well they boycotted the last one. The official attendance when we went up there was 15,000, but I'd eat my car if there were more than 10,000 actually in the Ricoh. Needless to say, I wont be bothering with this one.
patred44 Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 (edited) will he come back to haunt us, or will he be on our bus by then ? Edited 4 December, 2011 by patred44

If we'd have gotten any Prem or L1 team it would have been infinitely more exciting. Even Northampton FFS.
mcjwills Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Do we take the Cup seriously or consolidate our future in the NPC ? Might as well go for it as 17th in the league will not be much to boast about
Colinjb Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Fantastic! I must be the only one happy with that!
Leicestersaint Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 I sincerely hope we will go guns blazing in the FA Cup this year - and an away win at Coventry will be a good start.
Chez Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 love the FA cup, especially the third round. Was fed up of home draws, but cov away was not quite the tie I had hope for (Arsenal or Wigan away). Shame it's not somewhere I've not been, but we can beat them and then who knows. If we find our form again we can go a long way in this cup and there is nothing better than a great cup run.
Toomer Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Not a tie to get excited about but one we can win.
Dalek2003 Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 If we take the cup seriously there is no way we will finish 17th. Relegation it will be I'm afraid my friends. I think you are being far to pessimistic. I think we will fall gracefully to 17th which is very different from scrambling up to 17th. Anyway, you appear to have changed your tune all of a sudden.
Gemmel Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Anyway, you appear to have changed your tune all of a sudden. He is taking the pish out of you
Dalek2003 Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 He is taking the pish out of you Is he ?, oh I am incredibly naive you know

Hatch Posted 5 December, 2011 Posted 5 December, 2011 Saints best odds to win FA Cup 200/1 with bet365. Skates are about 500/1, Chelsea have suddenly become favourites.
ericofarabia Posted 5 December, 2011 Posted 5 December, 2011 Shame its a team we have already played this season .... as so often away draws at smaller teams means only a 1000 tickets or whatever .... here we can have as many as we want, but general apathy seems to have crept in and we'll be lucky to take as many as we did in the league game. Maybe SFC should say ticket holders for this game will get priority in any further CUP Games if we progress. Back in the day .... FA Cup away games were often the highlight of the season as away trips went. 12000 at Forest, 10000 at WBA, 8000 at Sheff Wed, 4000 at Bolton to name a few. I mourn the day that gum chewing **** opted out of the FA Cup for a money spinning nothing match and set the tone for viewing The FA Cup as a bit of an irritant (similar to the League Cup) rather than what it should be, a fantastic chance for smaller clubs (except cheatsmuff) to have their own Cup Final and play against one of the big boys and earn a bit of cash which may well keep them in existence. Lets face even for all but say 3 Prem Clubs this is the best chance they have of any honours each season, yet the cash cow that is The Prem League dictates that most clubs will opt for resting players in the hope of finishing 17th or higher than possibly getting to Wembley. No wonder fans are adopting the same attitude.
Sour Mash Posted 5 December, 2011 Posted 5 December, 2011 Got to remember this falls between two fairly big and popular away trips, Brighton and Forest, most people will always pick those two ahead of a day at the Ricoh and its hard to blame them.
ericb Posted 5 December, 2011 Posted 5 December, 2011 What are the odds of Cov doing cut price tickets for this? If they price them around the £15 mark i could still see us taking a fair few, anything more & i reckon we'll struggle to sell even 1000
Nexstar Posted 7 December, 2011 Posted 7 December, 2011 TICKETS Adults - £15 Concessions (Over 60's and 16-18 year olds) - £10 Juniors (Under 16's) - £5 From the Coventry website
