corsacar saint Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 With our away form, starting to stutter, how worried should we be with the next two away fixtures, which will both be played in totally hostile atmospheres,at Portsmouth and Brighton. I totally accept that we will have a few blips along the way. My concern is that having played so poorly away against to lowly sides,we will not handle the cauldrons of Fratton Park and The Amex. I am absolutely delighted where we are and am not trying to be defeatist, but maybe more pragmatic and realistic. There is obviously the other side of the cxoin, that we will raise our game and get two satisfactory results. Any thoughts?
John Boy Saint Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Sounds like we were a tad experimental yesterday v a team who are fighting for their lives. I got impression that in the last 2 away games we have come up against sides not wishing to be battered and in the process have dulled our edge to stop the battering and somehow fashioned a win along the way.
View From The Top Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 If he play like we did at Brizzle and Donny we will lose both.
saintmatt Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 In a strange way I think I'd be more worried if we were battering everyone away from home going into the skate match. Football's a funny old game.
aintforever Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Can't see us winning either, our poor away form is there for us all to see.
Appy Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 We need to be bang up for both of them. Yes i am worried.
Jack Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Wouldn't describe the Amex as a cauldron. We need to score the 1st goal at Portsmouth IMO. We keep conceding first and leave ourselves too much to do
ericb Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 i've got a funny feeling we'll win both, the players will raise their games because of the event and both home sides will have to come for us at home which will leave gaps. Just got to hope Lambert is fully fit for them though since that's the big difference for me.
theyin Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Been a tad concerned about the Pompey game for weeks TBH
Dalek2003 Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 We should be worried about wounded pride but if you look at the bigger picture they are just 6 points to be won or lost like every other game.
Orange Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 I'm very worried about Pompey, i think we could well get done over.
Leicestersaint Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 If he play like we did at Brizzle and Donny we will lose both. Yes this is true - we will have to raise our game and pray that Chaplow and Lambert are back.
ottery st mary Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 I honestly believe we will beat both Brighton and Pompey away..... We can not continue to ruin my prediction league forecasts...
Chez Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 I'm very worried. We have been poor away from home and the injuries have not helped things
Junction 9 Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Try not to worry, that's my advice for what it's worth.
Saint Garrett Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Very worried, especially if we carry on playing Lallana and 3 CM's in midfield. Realy missed Rickie and Chaplow's energy yesterday.
Golden Balls Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 We do seem to have big game players. They seem to struggle to get up for smaller game then really turn it on for the big ones.
scotty Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 They are just games, like any other. Its not as if we've been piling on the pressure by singing about the skates game for ages, is it.
dune Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 If Chaplow is fit i'm confident that we'll have the right attitude. He's our new Marsden and therefore our strongest link.
View From The Top Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 If Chaplow is fit i'm confident that we'll have the right attitude. He's our new Marsden and therefore our strongest link. He won't be.
dune Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 He won't be. That's not good. I fear we won't have the passion for the occasion without him.
Saint_Jonny Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 They are just games, like any other. Its not as if we've been piling on the pressure by singing about the skates game for ages, is it. Should have heard us yesterday. All we could sing about for the first half an hour was the skates. Boooooring.
dune Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Should have heard us yesterday. All we could sing about for the first half an hour was the skates. Boooooring. I noticed Pompey fan on a string got an airing.
scotty Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Should have heard us yesterday. All we could sing about for the first half an hour was the skates. Boooooring. ffs. I know its a given, but I cant be the only one thats getting tired of it.
dune Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 ffs. I know its a given, but I cant be the only one thats getting tired of it. What songs are we allowed to sing? Based on what I read on here there can't be many.
Saints Warrior Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 I suppose if you look at both games on paper (and I bet the betting on the day) will put the home teams as fav with a draw next. Its better we are under dogs rather than odds on like a few of the games this season. Both Skates and Can you keep up with Us, will think they should win from Saints losing to bottom teams so that may provide us with a less defensive and packed midfield which we struggle to break down. If we lose vs Blackpool then I will worry more as thats a marker for confidence.
DJ_TOAST Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 Yes I am worried about the skates...just checked their recent home record and they've won 4 out of the last 5 at home (drawn the other) and we've been playing sh*te away....that doesn't bode well. I just hope the players realise how important this game is...I can't/dont want to imagine the feeling if lose. Don't give a toot about the brighton game in comparison.
scotty Posted 4 December, 2011 Posted 4 December, 2011 What songs are we allowed to sing? Based on what I read on here there can't be many. We're allowed to sing anything thats not racist or homophobic. That doesnt mean I cant get bored of singing about the dirty skate bastards, does it? If you want to sing it then sing it.
Big John Posted 5 December, 2011 Posted 5 December, 2011 Didn't that hamster mush get shot down for saying exactly this a little while ago. Mentality of defeat costs lives, stop this silliness now.
