Let's hope Rickie is fit for this one. We miss him badly every time he is out.

I'll be bold and go with:

Davis

Richardson - Fonte - Hooiveld - Fox

De Ridder - Cork - Morgan - Holmes

Barnard - Lambert

You want to drop Lallana, and replace him with........ Lee Holmes :spaz:

But we'll play Hammond...we always do, the rest are just moved around to accomodate him. De Ridder??? don't ever want to see him with a starting berth again.A 20 minute player at this level. What did he actually do in the first half?? anyone know.He was there to create and get goalside, same as Lallana but no so Guly and Morgan had to do it for them. We aren't going to solve this problem until we get something from our 2 ATTACKING MIDFIELDERS Lallana and in today's case De Ridder.

It doesn't matter who you have out wide if the only striker is Guly. I wouldn't blame todays performance on them as such, but I don't think Lallana has been the same since his injury. Give Holmes a shot, see if he can prove himself and have Guly and Lallana coming off the bench.

If we're going to judge De Ridder on games he has started, lets at least judge him on games when the whole teams wasn't complete sh*t, i.e. Donny and Palace.

Ah,but I have the advantage of having seen him before he turned up in the SO postcode.

He's a 20 minute player,always has been.

Lallana isn't producing anything, hasn't since he's been back, good nod in on TUesday but that's not much from 4 or 5 games.

Christ, but replace him with Lee Holmes......surely not. Lallana is the one player in our team that can create something when we need it. He is straight on the teamsheet every week unless he is badly injured. Lee Holmes is an average League 1 player, we need another quality winger in January.

I hate to ruin your idée fixe, but Hammond hasn't started every league game this season. He's started at least three on the bench and in one of those didn't even get on the pitch. Naturally enough, we were absolutely brilliant in that game at Cardiff, as you'd expect without the dead weight of Hammond in midfield.

Sorry!! Drop Lallana?? He was the only player today who looked like creating anything. Lambert will probably still be out, so you'd go into a game without arguably our best 3 players? Madness!!

Cut down on possesion passing and get the balls crossed in low and quick. Saints need to be more attacking and faster at closing down at home to keep the Wins coming. Need a win as I am not too convinced Saints can raise thier game away at any ground, and thats a worry for those (and I) going to Skatesville, god help us if we perform like we did down there!!!!!!

That's not the way to do it. We play good football, and the last thing I want to see this team do is start hoofing and crossing from anywhere on the pitch. As long as we keep believing in the principles of passing, retaining the ball, then we'll have more wins than defeats by the end of the year. Reverting to the ''JUST HOOF IT'' cry's that I hear at most home games would be ridiculous and move us backwards.

FRAZER-----FONTE-----JOS---------FOX

SDR-----HAMMOND-----CORK----LALLANA

----------LAMBERT-----GULY------------

Subs: Bart, Martin, Schneiderlin, Holmes, Barnard

Was toying with the idea of putting Lallana on the right with Holmes starting on the left, but I don't think he has the match-fitness yet. Steeeeeve can do a job for us in the first half, Crainey is slow as fook and if Steve can tire him out early on then we can play wide and get crosses in for Rickie and Guly up front. Was also thinking about starting Barnard up front and putting Guly at RM, but Guly's been at his best this season up front and again Barney lacks a bit of match fitness.

Will be weird seeing Brett and KP back at SMS again, although I think Brett will get a much better welcome than KP! All together now:

Am I right in thinking that the last time we played Blackpool in the league at SMS, it was a lunchtime kick off, live on sky that day as well? Pretty sure it was. It was also a totally **** game, think we lost 0-1?

ANYWAY! Back to winning ways at home next week, they will be ****ting it coming to our place and I see no reason why with RL back, we shouldn't smash their back doors in before heading to the CRAP HOLE the following week in high spirits.

Also, I'm having a nightmare driving weekend next weekend to come home for my old mans birthday. Make it worth my while please Saints! :D

Well we certainly are going to have to step up a gear and hopefully put on a show for the TV cameras after being under the cosh most of the game at Reading.

Blackpool are no mugs as shown by thrashing Leeds 5-0 at Elland Road last month with Shelvey popping up with a few goals, not to mention old boys Brett and SKP likely to get on the score sheet and Holloway still seething at the Fa Cup chant of Premiership you're having a laugh still ringing in his ears.

Hope SRL is back to full fitness, looks like his absence really has thrown a spanner in the works.

Worried about this one, but then again I'm always worried. It will be very nearly a year to the day (Dec 11 2011) since the last home defeat in the league against Brentford.

Posted (edited)

All will be back on track with a 3-0 or even 4-0 beating of Blackpool with a 3-1 at Pompey..

Onwards and upwards....

Come on Nigel get and sort it out please.....

we seem to be on the down at the moment, adkins needs to rally the troops and sort this formation out for once and for all, hes tinkering too much

If he could rally the message board fans while he's at it that would be handy.Jeez this board is depressing today,as it was yesterday evening.

Something isn't right to be sure but I don't think many are giving Doncaster enough credit for obtaining a couple of very decent players on loan and then knowing how to exploit their capacities to the maximum. When you have Beye,Fortune and Sharp in your side you always stand a chance.

Agree about the TMT though, needs to knock that off sharpish,we had a game plan,he should have let it run through to at least

65 minutes before turning everything ass over tit.

Anyone got an update on Chaplow ? we miss him badly and need him and Ricky back sharpish.

He said on Twitter that it would be weeks not months. Which sound as though he'll likely be back for boxing day rather than before Christmas.

Some real morons on here. "Lallana isn't producing anything, hasn't since he's been back". "Not being pessimistic but I think we lose our next 6 games". I hate this forum at times; or rather I hate some of the posters on this forum.

NA says after every game that 'we try not to get too high after a win, or too low after a defeat'. Wise words. Some of our fans would do well to take heed. There are some serious manic depressives on here. We lost an away game - big deal. We're doing better than any of us in our wildest dreams could have imagined. Being top after 20 games into the season isn't a lucky run. We're a good team that is methodical and well structured. We won't win every game. But we'll win a lot more than we lose. It doesn't matter that we lost to bottom of the league; it's a very strong league and anyone can beat anyone.

As always, we won't know anything until the team is announced on Saturday. I'd also like an update on Connolly - he's a big loss too.

Our home record is going to come to a grinding halt.

What forecasting system do you use? Is it a computer based ? are you going for a Blackpool Win or the Draw?.

Posted

The away form is putting more and more pressure on the team to win every home game. This is a very tricky game, you just do not know what you will get from Blackpool.[We are going to drop points at home at some time, winning this and the two games over christmas is a very, very tall order]

All I care about is giving it back to this dork.

To be honest, I think he was quite right. I didn't like it at the time. We should be glad to see clubs like Blackpool having their moment in the sun. We don't need to be negative about it. Sometimes, we're not as funny as we thinik we are.

we need to get back to basics whereby we pass and move with conviction and end product. people bang on about our poor away form but our last few home games haven't been brilliant either. Ok we beat brighton 3-0 but first half was woeful and 2 of the goals were pens. Hull and peterboro were lame. i just think the boys are feeling the pressure at the top which is understandable and many haven't experienced such dizzy heights before. the away form will only add to the pressure when playing at sms. tiredness and injuries will play a part during the course of the season but as long as we stick to our strengths then we can still be top come turn of the year.

I'm pretty sure you've been predicting that for the past 21 home league games or so.

I suppose you will be proven right eventually.

But....almost optimistically given your record, you don't say when!

So, rarely for sure, I agree with you...it will at some stage.

Beaten to it by the poster above...must type faster!

Behave ! Holloway spat his dummy out, he needs to grow a pair if that got to him. any other set of fans in the same situation would have done the same.
