david in sweden Posted 2 December, 2011 Share Posted 2 December, 2011 ....Should clarify the situation that has allowed us to sign him permanently outside the transfer window - international loans are a bit odd in that rather than the player being loaned in a conventional manner (i.e. the "parent" club keeps his registration), the player is technically transferred to the loaning club, with a binding agreement that he will return to the parent club at the end of the loan period. As a result, *technically* he was already our player and today's announcement is actually that he has agreed a new contract with the club. Loopholes Oh, and apparently the fee was £1.35m, which seems reasonable value. THX for the simple explanation of what sounds to be a complicated " paper " arrangement. Steve. .....as for the fee. In todays market, I think I would say that it was more of a steal... than a buy !
Charlie Wayman Posted 2 December, 2011 Share Posted 2 December, 2011 Terrific news. Always last to leave the pitch after home matches, always a smile, never in panic - a True Saint if ever there was one. Hoover is well named always sweeping up at the back!
