Are people still waiting for Pompey ticket email?

Someone's going to get a right earful on Wednesday when I go to pick up the tickets.

Now if you tried that with me in charge of the TO I'd simply strip you of all the tickets and tell you to p*ss off out of it,probably take a couple of months to refund your money as well. You tried it on, it came back and bit you in the bum so just be a little respectful when you go down there on Wednesday eh.

Following on from this, we spoke to the ticket office and they're now saying there wasn't the same restriction on the 2nd ballot, and it's our fault for putting multiple ballot forms in. Tried to argue that it clearly stated on the OS that 1 extra ticket per season ticket was the limit, but they weren't having it. Asked to speak to whoever was in charge, told that there was no chance we could get the money refunded. So we're in the process of making sure we can sell all 12 spare tickets, luckily enough I think they're all gone but it's a massive pain in the arse trying to collect all the money and get the tickets to everyone. Could have quite easily ended up well out of pocket.

There are a few on here after tickets. SHouldn't have a problem shifting them at least, but yet another example of this ticketing process not really working. Also suggests that we haven't sold out as everyone seems to be getting tickets, even multiple success in the 2nd ballot.

Does kind of sound like it's your fault mate. I'd leave off the poor Doris in the TO if I were you sounds like she's getting enough grief already.

Picked my travel tickets up today, no hassle. Also worth noting the St Marys leaving time is 11AM, so no idea where people got the 12.15 departure time from.

The 12:15 departure was on the Online Ticket history when the first batch of first ballot tickets were put online, it's never been on a bus ticket. We've already had pics of bus tickets on this thread (I posted them) so not sure why you hadn't spotted that days ago.

However, I would say that my missus has somewhat thrown the cat amongst the pigeons as she works with a steward who's said that despite what's on the ticket (and on the letter you get with your ticket) the stewards have been told we'll be leaving at 12:30...

For completion, I have now had the second ballot email, arrived at 22:45pm on a Saturday - amazingly convenient for making the club another few quid in car parking fees from people who'd have been near the ticket office some 8 hours earlier, but not for anyone who actually did as they were told regarding waiting for the email.

There will be loads of people travelling on tickets in other people's names. There's the plus ones and people who have used friends/family tickets to apply etc

If they stop people getting on the coaches because their name's not on the ticket there'll be a riot!!

It's actually their process that all of the +1s will have someone else's name on the tickets - at no point was any ST applying asked for the details of the people who would actually attend. If nothing else that's a massive dereliction of duty by the club on safety grounds, you could have hundreds of people in the ground with no way of tracing them back to the original ticket purchase if they wanted to kick off...

So it didn't clearly state on the OS that all successful applicants from the 1st ballot would be entitled to 1 extra ticket? And to be fair it's not just this that has p*sssd me off, it's the whole thing. Useless communication and making it hard as possible for us to pick up some bleeding football tickets. They've been useless at doing a relatively easy job, and very unhelpful in the process.

Hope you got my pm - money's waiting for 2 of those tickets if anyone messes you around?

Sorry pal, just sold the last 2 to some friends of a friend

Just Phoned them and they havnt got any to sell at all, it is/ was strictly ballot only. Gutted as I'm desperate for 2 tickets!

I can't believe it, you mean the bribed drunks you'd hired let you down ?

At the end of the day if you're going to play it so ridiculously safe and hand in four identical application forms you're running the risk of getting all those tickets.

Hmm, putting 3 ballot forms in at the time didn't seem ridiculous, we didn't (I don't think anyone did) expect there to be SO many tickets left after the 1st ballot. Never thought that they would be issuing tickets for every applicant, on every ballot form, in 2 ballots. I suppose if we had sold out at any point then they woul have looked into how many tickets were going to each customer.

I suppose it boils down to a serious over-estimation of how important this fixture is to our fans. I still maintain that the ticket office have made a right royal balls up of the whole thing

Well you've got that bit right - the fact that they don't have a process in place to check whether people have already been allocated tickets is one of the most glaring oversights. I could crap a better business process than that lot have been using for this shambles.

If this is indeed the case, I would not want to be a steward on each coach trying to calm down 50 Sainst fans getting p*ssed off sat going no where !

F*cking ell. You can just see so many things going wrong on the day. I don't trust them to get us to the game on time one bit. We've already seen how incapable they are.

The letter clearly states an 11am departure from SMS, if itd any different and we end up missing some of the game I suggest everyone writes to the club and the police demanding recompense. There must be some kind of consumer law protecting you from that kind of thing.

How long would BBC likely let them delay kick off?

Same amount of time as the last two times half our fans got there 20 minutes after kick off. Not going to happen, crush at the turnstiles (as in 2004) or not.

The coaches are not leaving at 12.30 ffs.

I bloody hope not, just passing on what my wife's been told by her work colleague who is a steward...

not a chance especially if they are stopping off at Burseldon on route.

No idea why people think they're stopping either, more likely the main Stadium buses hit the M27 and the Winch and Bursledon buses merge on the move, should be easy enough to time joining a 30-bus convoy, and the Bursledon site is near the junction anyway.

The buses from SMS and Winchester will come out of SMS along Bitterne Road and the OB will filter the Bursledon buses in to join Motorway at Junction 8.

Site at Bursledon is a mud bath at present so moving buses should be interesting, getting missus to drop us of at Tesco, although i assume there will be parking at Busledon

For anyone still waiting, I went to collect my "Ballot 2" tickets yesterday having still not had an email about Ballot 1. When I asked about my original application I found that it was "put on the reject pile" as the payment didn't go through (even though the exact same details were on my second application!). Luckily it was still valid and I just paid at the wondow, but suggest others waiting should check this too as there is obviously someone with fat fingers in the ticket office.

I've got a feeling there's going to be 100's of empty seats due to cock ups like this... All well and good brushing it off as a "shambles" but for people like me, brought up genuinely hating the skates, this is by a mile the biggest game of the season - especially for us that were there in 04 & 05 - there should be a proper investigation into this and an explanation and apology afterwoulds!

can I just get this right? Despite your first application being "rejected", they still had spare tickets available for you to take once you'd sorted out/corrected the details in your first app?

Application accepted... payment rejected apparently. I knew I had the tickets as they were showing on line, I was just waiting for the email. No idea if they would have eventually got in touch to tell me.

I phoned up the ticket office yesterday and asked if I could collect my Bus ticket on Sunday morning the answer was NO. Re-considering going now and maybe even selling ticket. Quite frankly the extra cost of driving down there in the week and has made the match unaffordable. Why are they making it so difficult for the fans for one of the biggest games of the season. WIll call again today and give any news that is of help to people.

It was made clear when they went on sale that you had to collect your bus tickets before the day of the match. Your own fault.

It was also made clear that they would inform all successful applicants by the 1st of December. They haven't managed to do that, so I don't really see what option they've got other than to open for an hour or so before the buses leave for the remaining tickets to be collected.

Whilst this is true, the news of getting a ticket game so late that I could not combine it with a trip to SMS, so actually the club can take some apportion of the blame.

Sorry, can you just confirm - you're saying that you have spoken to the ticket office and they are still selling tickets in our end for Sunday?
Yes but they did say i need to put it in writing.

I was at the ticket office on Saturday to pick up my bus passes. We also had 1 more ticket to pick up from the second ballot although no email had been received. They wouldn't let us have the ticket. I explained that we live on the Isle of Wight and that we would not be coming over to Southampton again during the week. They said that the ticket office would be open on Sunday to pick up the pass. We even said "Are you sure?" and the reply was "Yes".

This is true, however I still haven't received my e-mail confirmation despite my on-line history showing (for over a week) that I have been allocated tickets, and the money taken. I tried to collect the tickets at the weekend but was told that they hadn't yet been printed but that the ticket office WOULD be open on the day of the game from 9am.

I can't get down during the week and so will have to collect them on the day. It only thing that I can see that I am at fault for in this scenario is being stupid enough to assume that the "ticket office" would be able to organise the allocation and distribution of a couple of thousand tickets. As you say, my own fault.
