Sour Mash Posted 7 December, 2011 Share Posted 7 December, 2011 Went down there thia afternoon armed with a printout of my online sales. Conversation went like this Can I have my pompey bus tickets please? Have you had an email Not yet, but its been on my history for over a week (hands TO person bit of paper) Yours aren't ready yet. But I was in the first ballot, I put my application in the day it opened We've had to do things in a certain order. What, backwards? Your email is being sent out today, you will be able to pick up your tickets tomorrow If your sending my email today, why can't I pick my tickets up today? Because they're not printed yet So why are you sending out emails before you've printed the tickets? Thats the order we've had to do it in.. Bangs head very hard against stadium wall. What an utter balls up from start to finish. Of course the real question is, if they can make it this difficult for a couple of thousand tickets, what will happen in April? If the club really does aspire to be seriously successful over the next few years, it's really going to have to sort out the ticket system. Yes the bubble/coach aspect makes this slightly more complicated, but really we're giving a footballing ticket office a month to sell a couple of thousand football tickets and they're seriously struggling. Its not like they've got loads of other things going on at the moment.
Appy Posted 7 December, 2011 Share Posted 7 December, 2011 Phoned the ticket office today after being worried after recieving no email from the first ballot despite it being in my online account for a couple of weeks. They said my bank card had been declined when they tried to process it, probably due to my crummy handwriting, they said this had been the case with a few people and they will be contacting them today or tomorrow. Just put all the tixs in and we can collect at the next home game.

(1 extra from second ballot) I hope I get this email by saturday otherwise I'm not going to actually get to pick up the tickets @_@ We're still waiting for the email. Successful in the first ballot and showing on the lead applicant's history - so there's no priority to sending out these emails. As you're from Bedford, and if you still haven't got the email by Saturday, I'd print of your sales history and try it on with that. Sounds like some have been successful like that, guess luck of the draw who serves you. If they refused, considering the distance you'd need to travel back again, I would kick up. Jack Posted 8 December, 2011 Share Posted 8 December, 2011 Successful in 2nd ballot, no email but it's on my account history on the OS. Only thing I'm not sure about is this; I'm planning on using the ticket from the 2nd ballot, as I applied with 3 mates, so we'll be on the same bus (bus 5) and into the ground at the same time. Another person I know is having my ticket from the 1st ballot but obviously that's a different bus (bus 2), is he going to have any problem claiming that ticket as it's in my name? Did you have to give the name of the person using your +1? If not then I can't see any issue. There's a chance someone in our party can't go now so someone else will be using the ticket, I'd imagine this will be quite common.

All 4 of our customer numbers went on the form, as well as all of my details as I was the lead applicant. I suppose I'll just talk to the ticket office wench on Saturday. It's annoying, originally we all applied separately, then did the 2nd ballot as a group so now want to use those tickets, and sell the original 4 to mates. Hoping that in the end we can all get down there, then go in as a group of 8 and stand as a group instead of being scattered around. Hoping that seating is a free for all and if anyone wants to be a b*tch about what seat number is on their ticket, then they can be told to f*ck off without taking too much offense. A few weeks ago I asked the ticket office what would happen if someone was awarded a ticket but then couldn't travel. The reply was the ticket would become void as they are non-transferable and non-refundable. I'm not sure how they'll police this seeing as people have been allowed to apply for extra tickets, especially as they're putting people on different coaches and not asking for the names of who's using the extra tickets

rshephard3 Posted 9 December, 2011 Share Posted 9 December, 2011 Keep trying TO today. Really poor effort all round. I dont want to waste their time,I just want to be treated like a customer who needs to be told if he has managed to make a purchase. How hard is it to work round the clock to fire out emails to tell people if they can go to a football match in a week and 2 days?!

rshephard3 Posted 9 December, 2011 Share Posted 9 December, 2011 Comedy gold.. They're firing out emails to people who are already sorted and failing to make contact with people left in limbo. Don't even relish being poked onto a bus and abused through pompey that much,I'd just like to know either way. It doesn't help that if you happen to of changed your email there is no way of getting your password to login to the antiquated online ordering system! Clapham Saint Posted 9 December, 2011 Share Posted 9 December, 2011 No e-mail yet for me. Somebody (on one of the number of threads) offered to pick up my tickets for me as I cant get down this weekend. Whoever that was, I can't find the post now to reply to it directly. Thank you for the offer but, without wanting to sound like a 5 year old, I have already called my Mum and she is going to collect them for me... The Cat Posted 9 December, 2011 Share Posted 9 December, 2011 I reckon that with access to the database I could have sorted this whole allocation out on my own quicker than the combined 'efforts' of the ticket office.
Clapham Saint Posted 9 December, 2011 Share Posted 9 December, 2011 It's not as if they didn't have notice of the game is it. Surely an automated system could have been put in place, for part of the process at least. I get the impression there is somebody sat in the ticket office writing each confirmation e-mail manually. Window Cleaner Posted 9 December, 2011 Share Posted 9 December, 2011 (edited) So then same question as the other day: Has anyone at all been knocked back in either ticket ballot ?? If not that would mean that the number of tickets available and the number applied for correspond exactly as the TO say that there are none left but they were all allocated. The9 Posted 9 December, 2011 Share Posted 9 December, 2011 Okie doke, I've just been to the ticket office to get Brighton tickets, took a punt on getting Pompey Bus from 2nd ballot whilst I was there (it's on my online history). Spoke to some geek kid, asked me if I'd had the email, I blatantly just lied to see what would happen, he got his supervisor over, they printed me 3 bus tickets for the right bus - job done ? Well, no, because the number on the ticket was my ST number and the names on the bus ticket were me and two linked people, all of whom already have different bus tickets from the first ballot, and none of whom would actually be on that bus when they were handing out the tickets - so no use to my +1s who actually would have been on the bus. I decided it wasn't worth the hassle for my mates on the bus, went to a different window and had the helpful TO person look up the people who were meant to be on the tickets - whilst this was going on, someone in the TO announced to all and sundry "BUT WE HAVEN'T PROCESSED THE SECOND BALLOT YET" - meaning they haven't sent ANY 2nd Ballot emails - and she said she'd have to wait for me to get the email to get the bus tickets with the right names on. What a shambles. Luckily I went for Brighton tickets anyway, or it would have been a complete waste of time - but if they don't get the second ballot emails out before tomorrow there will be some annoyed non-Southampton-based fans. FWIW I parked on the road, didn't pay the 15 min charge...

Tapping slowly with one finger, while their lips move gormlessly as they read back the sentence they've just tapped out to themselves, before pressing the spell check option. Absolute shambles. They are a football club ticket office, selling a few football tickets, they're not being asked to do anything too far off their usual operational scope of work. The9 Posted 9 December, 2011 Share Posted 9 December, 2011 Anyone else think the reason they're going slow on this is so when it becomes clear that "all taken up" means "we decided not to release the ones we had left after the second ballot" they can claim there "isn't time to process a third phase of applications anyway"?
