That what I was told Si but as I said in my previouse post it looks like the £43.50 has gone out of my bank.

I'l keep an eye on my account then cheers. Can't believe i'm getting so nervous over something they said was guaranteed. Just down to previous experience with the ticket office i suppose.

Surely if we haven't sold out we can just put the rest on general sale? F*cking 'ell. Unbelievable the amount of people that don't want to go, embarrassing.

just don't get it do you.The OB have probably imposed restrictions on the club regarding ticket sales. It's not a question of who wants to go but who the OB allow to go.

I don't think it is that to be honest. I reckon the club programmed in a maximum of two windows to process applications and they've struggled to manage those, the idea of doing anything over and above that is just too much additional effort for them.

Well considering what I've just heard on the subject I don't doubt that you're right.

Word of warning in general, apparently you need to take the e-mail,well a print of it anyway, to the TO when you are summoned for your bus tickets.

I didnt. Just had a note of the order number, but when there, I was just asked for my name and address.

I also asked about this "returning of tickets" and guess what? Absolute bol locks!! They havent processed the 2nd ballot yet, which I am also waiting on. Probably due to the number of impatient idiots constantly ringing them up.

I'm genuinely amazed that they've managed to make such a pig's ear out of what should really be a very simple process. How can they have not finished even processing the first ballot, which ended more than two weeks ago and for which they were receiving applications more than six weeks ago?!

and did you ask them how many tickets we had been allocated? and did they give you the "we can't confirm that" ?

and if they haven't finished processing the 2nd ballot what was that news story last week all about saying "all tickets have been taken up"

a) No. It dosent affect my life if we take 2817 or 3195. I merely wanted to know about my second application.

b) Just a guess. More people have applied in the 2 ballots, than there are tickets. As they are having to check each one to record away purchases, this may be the cause of the delay. They also have to keep answering the phone.

I'm beginning to feel sorry for the poor overworked soles. I'm going to help them out.

Ticket Office please feel free to cut-and-paste and put this simple message (that will cut down on enquiries and allay a lot of angst among a number of supporters) on the OS:

Dear Fans,

We have received an allocation of (please fill in the detail) tickets, everyone that applied in the first ballot has been successful but due to application numbers exceeding the remaining tickets please bear with us as these are presently being allocated and all successful will be notified in (please fill in the detail) days and please ignore the bullsh*te being spouted by the News/Echo/Thick Skates (who haven't sold out yet)/etc.

It would save them a lot of earache.

Got 2 emails, one yesterday, one today, with the same reference number, pretty much saying the same thing, but worded differently. Maybe this is part of the problem, they could sending twice as many emails as necessary.

Shambles is an understatement

Yeah your right, i don't get it, 'cos we've been told f*ck all!

But my thinking was that surely if everyone who has applied has been successful, that would mean we haven't sold out, yet?

I couldn't wait any longer, so sent a quick email and received an email from the ticket office in reply saying amongst other things "All allocations have been placed." Any ideas?

Thankfully five minutes after my email a golden ticket has appeared on my history. Lovely jubbly.

This would make the process even longer! Then you lot would be moaning more!

To be fair, a good mate of mine knows Becky Goodyer really well. From what I her, she has been working through the night several times to try and get this sorted. At the end of the day it wasn't the staff who decided how these should be allocated.

I don't think (m)any people have a problem with how the tickets are allocated. Season ticket holders who wanted a ticket have got one, job done. After that, you could argue the toss one way or the other in terms of whether STHs should be allowed another one ahead of a non-STH who has done 3 aways, I guess, but it all seems fairly straightforward.

As indeed does the process that common sense would suggest takes place when actually checking the applications. However, it would seem as though a lot of that common sense hasn't been used, which is what has annoyed a lot of people, along with the enforced collection of tickets (if they're bothered about tickets going missing, send them recorded and add a quid to the transaction value) and complete randomness of information that has been given whenever different people have asked what's going on.

There is absolutely no way they should be in a situation whereby someone who handed their application in on the first day they were accepting them (17th October) could still be waiting for the email confirming they've got a ticket - yes, they may assume so as they were in the first ballot, but they might have made a mistake on the application form without realising, and I'm fully expecting that any void applications were simply chucked in the bin.

Remember the FA Cup semi-final at Villa Park in 2003? We had 3-4 weeks between the draw being made and the game being played, and yet the club managed to get application forms sent via post to all season ticket holders (and members, I think), processed the forms for nearly 20,000 tickets and had the tickets posted well in advance of the game. Looking back at how manic that situation must have been - with sell-out home and away games around that time as well - puts the current situation into perspective. They've made a complete pig's ear of it all.

Got my email today but cant make blackpool now. live nowhere near Southampton so picking up tickets is going to be pretty tricky. this whole thiing is pathetic. could they not at least have sent bus tickets through the post???

Agree with this, having to pick up the bus ticket in person just seems silly. I can't make the Blackpool game either so I'll have to go over next Saturday to collect mine, thankfully for me it's only a 60 mile round trip. If you are in London, maybe it's worth calling the ticket office and finding out if you can agree a nominated person to pick it up on your behalf if you know someone closer. (not sure if anyone else has already tried this?)

Is it just the lead name or does every ticket have a different name printed?

Different names. I got 4 tickets all of which have the name of the individual applicants.

I imagine that when we're on the bus a name will get called, and bus ticket is handed over in exchange for match ticket.

Went down there thia afternoon armed with a printout of my online sales. Conversation went like this

Can I have my pompey bus tickets please?

Have you had an email

Not yet, but its been on my history for over a week (hands TO person bit of paper)

Yours aren't ready yet.

But I was in the first ballot, I put my application in the day it opened

We've had to do things in a certain order.

What, backwards?

Your email is being sent out today, you will be able to pick up your tickets tomorrow

If your sending my email today, why can't I pick my tickets up today?

Because they're not printed yet

So why are you sending out emails before you've printed the tickets?

Thats the order we've had to do it in..

Bangs head very hard against stadium wall. What an utter balls up from start to finish.

Of course the real question is, if they can make it this difficult for a couple of thousand tickets, what will happen in April?:scared:

Why can't they send the bus tickets as they normally do the game ticket? Mind boggles.
